The pictures made it look a lot more secluded than it really was-didn't see there were 3 more cabins

  • 4 of 5

It was a lovely place even though we were hoping to not hear the conversations of our neighbors. Also, we would have loved to have been informed that our laundry facility was not actually in the cabin as we were led to believe from the description. After taking our laundry into town, we found out as we were moving out, from the cleaning service that it was in another outbuilding down the drive. All in all it was a wonderful experience! Thanks for everything. Especially loved the GOATIE GOATS!

Perfect tiny cabin for weekend getaway

  • 4 of 5

Small but plenty of room for my husband and myself. Had all we needed for a nice stay. Quiet and peaceful. Only complaint: Never found the washer and dryer.

Clean and as promised

Private and quiet, we enjoyed our stay. The kitchen could have been better outfitted, snd main bedroom mattress needs replacement. The porch and goats were fun!

Relaxing, comfy cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in your relaxing, comfortable little cabin. We rented the 1 bedroom for 3 nights in Sept. We found it easily, with the directions provided. It was very conveniently located between Cherokee & Asheville. .We did wonder how you would drive up the steep road in the winter if there was ice. That would be an adventure! We found it to be just like the pictures depicted. The bed was comfortable. The small kitchen was adequate. The living room was pleasant with a TV and there was Wifi. It was wonderful to sit out on the deck with the beautiful view of the mountains. The goats outside came over to greet us & ask for a scratch on the head. It was not close to restaurants which was fine. But you might want to plan around that, if you don't want to go back out at night. We ate at The Sweet Onion one night, which was excellent & the Brewery (can't remember the name) the other night, which was also excellent, both in Waynesville. We went to the Biltmore Estate one day & ate at the new Sierra Nevada Brewery, southwest of the city. They are both worth a visit. We so enjoyed coming home to our little cabin , quiet & away from everything. We passed by all the other hotel, motels, etc. & were so glad we weren't staying there. It had everything we needed, except for maybe some paper towels & kleenex. Those two things are harder to supply yourself when you're traveling, especially if flying. You don't really want to buy a whole roll of paper towels for a few days.. So, for the person that likes the quiet, private, out of the way cabin, we highly recommend staying here.

Enjoyed our stay at Deer Country Cabin 1

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I needed a place to stay for a last minute trip up to the Haywood County Waynesville/Maggie Valley area to look at properties for sale. I called the number provided on VRBO for information on a Friday evening to book a two day stay starting the next day. The Borges' were very helpful and accommodating to us and our two small dogs. The cabin was the perfect size and reasonably priced. My husband and I often joke about living in a tiny house and, while this cabin is larger than the tiny homes on the TV shows, it gave us a good insight into how much you can work into a small space. The cabin was rustic chic with the charm of an earlier day and still all the amenities of modern life including WiFi and satellite TV. My husband was grateful he didn't have to miss the NCAA Final Four games! I was a little concerned upon learning that the temperatures were to dip into the 20's the first night we were there, but the gas fireplace was more than sufficient to heat the home. We were nice and cozy! Although it had the feel of being away from it all, we were only minutes away from town. The Deer Country Cabins are easy to find and easy to get to, unlike some other places we have stayed in the area. Until we can find our own mountain property, we will gladly revisit Deer Country Cabins as our 'home away from home'. Maybe the next time we won't be so busy and will have time to sit a spell enjoying the view from the porch swing!
