Welcome to your dream getaway at Holden Beach, NC! This stunning house, located on the marsh, offers breathtaking natural views from the large windows and multiple decks throughout the home. With partial ocean views, you can enjoy the serene beauty of the coast right from your living space. This spacious home features a reverse floor plan, with oversized bedrooms located on the second floor and the kitchen, living, and dining areas on the third floor, all boasting ocean views. Second year our family has stayed here. We love this house. Has a few odds and ends that need to be fixed. Great location and close to a beach access. Far enough down that it's not over crowded.

Our family made some wonderful memories in this home! It is a modest, no-frills home, but is appropriately priced and advertised, and exactly what I expected. It just needs some upgrades and small fixes to become a 5-star property one day. The location can't be beat--you can see & hear the ocean from the front deck and are just one block from beach access.

Relaxing Stay in Holden Beach

Wonderful place for a family vacation. Right across from beach access. Great place for multiple children. Very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Definitely one of our best stays in Holden Beach(been there 4 times now).

Super close walk to the beach. I love that it was about the middle of the island, so some days we would go right to explore, other times left. Not huge crowds at this part of the island, unlike near the pier. The house was pleasant, beds comfortable, easy check out. Highly recommend.

What a relief-to leave

Proximity to the beach was fine. It was very close to public access. Otherwise, there needs to be some serious work/time/commitment to make this house worth more than my mortgage for a weeks stay.

Close to beach but needs some TLC

This property is located close to beach access, beds are pretty comfortable, air conditioning worked well, price was good in May when we went but it’s in need of a lot of updating. I would not stay here again unless the carpet was replaced and the furnishings were updated.

Love the location, the beach is awesome and well taken care of. Turtle rescue & hatchings incredible. But the house/property is run down & needs fixing/ upgrades. Not worth the rent charged. Will be looking at a different rental next time & not with Vacasa.

Starting to get tired looking

Have stayed here several times over the years. Nice little place but it’s getting weathered looking on the inside. Bathroom drains were not cleared out (again) but within an hour a maintenance person came out and cleaned them. I don’t think I’ll rent Mr. G’s again just because if I’m spending as much as I am for a rental, it better be an A+ place. I’d give it a C+ At this point only because I’ve stayed here in the past and know how it looked several years ago.

July Vacation

Overall the stay was pretty good. There were a few minor items that needed repair, but when we called Vacasa they sent someone out to make the repairs on what could be repaired. The only real issue we had was the checkin process. It is too small of a parking area for everyone to check in at the same time. Maybe if there was a way to schedule check in times that might help out. We actually sat inthe parking lot for over an hour because we got there a little early hoping to avoid the crowd and coould check in. The line did move rather quickly when it started, but then trying to manuever out of the parking lot was rather difficult.

Outdated and uncomfortable

I have a few concerns and issues with the place. The A/c struggles to keep it at 72 degrees, most of the pots are so scratched it’s hard too cook on and had to go buy a pot. And there’s is so much in the cabinets that there is no room for food. Everything is outdated and most of the light switches don’t work to anything. The lights are either lamps or ceiling fans plugged in by an outlet.The beds are so cheap they are very uncomfortable. It is a great spot and a nice house but expected better from a vacation rental and are very unhappy with our experience of this stay and will not use vacasa or Vrbo again. Sent multiple emails and never got any responses.

You get what you pay for…

Well I guess some things are too good to be true. Found this home at a great price and booked it fast… now we know why. I believe the newest thing on the home is the electronic lock for the back door 😂 Home is very very dated… like I don’t think it’s been touched since it was built. The couches are supported by plywood so you don’t fall through them… it looks like things might have been painted recently, but not very well; they didn’t even bother to move the bed to paint around the headboard which I thought was hilarious. Wallpaper was peeling in the bathrooms… just little annoyances… One other thing; if you are planning on grilling out, reconsider. The gas grill would hardly turn on (we got 1 burner to work) and you might need a tetanus shot after you use it. If you DO decide to grill, make sure you bring spatulas and tongs or whatever you need because there aren’t any in the house provided (I guess they don’t expect you to use the grill either lol). Another thing that upset me was the lawn care crew came by at some point to mow and they blew grass all over my car (and probably peppered it with rocks/sand as well). As someone who actually works in property management professionally, that really got under my skin. I will say in its defense, it’s a great location to the beach. It’s almost directly across from public access. Also, even though everything in the house is ancient, it did still all work properly. Refrigerator, dishwasher, AC, washer and dryer etc all functioned as it should. Basically, if you are looking for a place to simply sleep at night and just enjoy the beach, this is a good place for you. However, If you are the kind of person that enjoys the place you stay at, hangs out at the house a bunch, cooks in etc, then you might want to look elsewhere… it’s a fairly lackluster place but it provided us a place to sleep at night and it was at least clean.

The home is an older-style beach house and original to the island. We confirm the owner is going to replace the grill and the wallpaper is back up. The Plywood is under couch cushions for support only, this has been brought to the owner's attention as well.
