With its tranquil surf, beautiful beach, and warm climate, Isle of Palms is ideal for a family vacation or a romantic retreat for just the two of you. Unit #101 is located just steps from the beach access and the complex-owned private fishing pier, both gated. This is a first floor unit and still has an amazing, tropical view down the beach!

Our condo, Shipp's Treasure, is an end unit so you have only the dunes with the sand and sea beyond. The southeast facing window provides that extra sunlight that is only afforded to the end units. Beautiful, lush vegetation on the dunes maintains your privacy as well as the custom plantation shutters! This close to the ocean you can hear the surf on the balcony or through an open window. Open the doors and feel the warm ocean breeze blow right through the condo!

UPDATED - JANUARY 2017!! - WE'VE JUST COMPLETED THE INSTALLATION OF A BRAND NEW CERAMIC TILE FLOOR THROUGHOUT AND AN ELEGANT TILED WALK-IN SHOWER!!! Other appointments that make our condo one of the nicest in the complex include: beautiful granite countertops in kitchen and bath, abundant pantry storage with custom pull-out drawers, full-size range, bead-board cabinetry, flat screen HD TVs in both living area and bedroom, and dual sleeper sofas. We are unit 101 on the first floor, just 10 stairs to the private boardwalk. Possibly the shortest walk from the complex to the ocean, pier, and one of the picnic/grill areas, and the pool is just a few more steps beyond. The pool house has a laundry facility that offers commercial grade washers and dryers for those longer stays or off-season retreats.

Our condo is less than 14 miles from the city of Charleston. In downtown Charleston, get a real sense of early America and enjoy the southern charm and beauty of this historic location, voted the #1 city in America by Conde Naste Traveler magazine! Shop at the Old Market, take a horse drawn carriage ride down cobblestone streets, cruise the world famous waterfront Battery, or take an evening Ghost Tour! Why Paul Shipp chose Isle of Palms

With our deep love of Charleston and Isle of Palms, and with family only minutes away in Mt. Pleasant, it was inevitable that we would own property on the island, and this property is the perfect location! The condo offers everything that we love about the low country; beautiful scenery, a quick stroll to the restaurants and shops on IOP, and easy access to all the culture, shopping, and experiences that Mt. Pleasant and Charleston have to offer.

Our family has been coming to the area since our oldest children, now grown, were youngsters and hope to create many more lasting memories with our youngest child and (someday) grandchildren! We feel truly blessed to have this 'home' on the island to call our own.

What makes this condo unique

We love the toned down, family atmosphere; the short walk to island shops and iconic restaurants, watching the dolphins play in the surf and the waters of Breach Inlet, and the fact that we are only minutes from beautiful Charleston!

The condo is situated literally just behind the dune of the beach! You can open the window or sit on the deck and hear the waves breaking on the sand. Very peaceful!

Our condo is ideally located in the heart of quaint downtown IOP. Situated immediately adjacent to the ocean and yet Island-themed shops, great restaurants, and casual bars are all only within 5-10 minute walk from the condo's front door.

Closest unit to beach and pier access on wooden walkways, kitchen has all amenities, spic and span, great location for back and forth to Charleston yet the relaxation of beach. Owner emailed great recommendations for local eateries! Superior vacation.

I hate Irma !

This is the most functional, modern, beautifully decorated rental we have ever been in. The only problem was the walkway to the ocean over the dunes and pier was closed due to damage from Irma. It was quite a treck to the beach ! This is the only reason for the four stars. The day we were leaving they were fixing the walkway. Timing is everything -----------

Enjoyed the private pier and beach entrance. Loved the convenience of being able to walk to restaurants and shops. Overall a great vacation. We live in the Greenville area and are proud that we have a pretty place like Isle of Palms to visit.

Cute little place, didn't have a toaster, silverware drawer broken. Outside storm door Händle was br

Place was clean and comfortable. Other than items mentioned above it was ok. Screen on deck was difficult to slide handle was broken. Unwanted visitors namely a few cockroaches. We're dispatched quickly.

Owner's Response: Hi Brian and thanks for renting our unit! We hope your stay on the IOP was most enjoyable. Also, thank you for your feedback. It is primarily through our renters that we are made aware of anything that might be amiss. But we have to be made aware of it! We are ALWAYS available by phone and can respond to almost any situation immediately. Let us address your items individually. Toaster - there is a toaster oven in the cabinet under the silverware drawer as confirmed by our current renter. Silverware drawer - Once we heard of the issue it was repaired the same day. Please call! Storm door handle - again, once we were made aware, the handle in its entirety was replaced. The screen door wheels corrode rather quickly from the salt air but are replaced regularly. Bugs - the HOA uses a pest service that is very effective. That being said, our proximity to the beach puts us close to the "action" where bugs are involved. One or two occasionally find their way in but usually die quickly (without the aid of a sandal). Regardless, we try to keep a can of Raid handy for our guests. While the coast is an incredibly beautiful setting, the pop up storms, wind, salty sea air, and heat make for a very dynamic environment and our unit is not immune. However, we take pride in keeping our unit up to date, fully outfitted, and with renovations and amenities that make it one of the most comfortable and pleasurable units in the complex. We are very open to communication and hope that in the future, should you rent from us again, you do not hesitate to call, even if it's just for a restaurant recommendation! We love hearing from our guests! Thanks again Brian and we hope you choose to rent from us again in the future!

My husband & I were looking for somewhere special to celebrate our 40th anniversary and this was it!

We'd never been to SC, so were a little bit nervous about picking a place to stay. This was perfect! We enjoyed having the fishing pier and the beach right out the door! The condo was pretty and comfortable with everything we needed - perfect for a couple. The location was nice - a short drive from the Charleston airport and plenty to do & see nearby.

From the time I originally booked, I could tell the owner, Paul, was going to be a delight to work with! He was so helpful with recommendations we asked him for (restaurants, golf courses, etc.) and was very quick to respond to any issues or questions we had. As my husband & I were driving back to the airport, we were already talking about "next time"...
