great coastal vacation home in a wonderful family neighborhood. Our house is a short walk from a private association beach, perfect for launching paddleboards and kayaks or watching the sunset. Horseneck and Demarest Lloyd State beaches as well as Dartmouth Beaches are close by. Walk into the village to enjoy vibrant restaurants, shops, New Bedford Yacht Club, marinas and waterfront services including boat and kayak rentals. Short drive to the many galleries and artist studios, vineyards and breweries in the south coast area. Spend the day exploring New Bedford's Whaling Museum and maritime history. Check out local charter fishing or take the ferry to the islands for a day. Enjoy abundant fresh local produce, meats, seafood, eggs and milk and many farmers markets. Home comfortably sleeps 10. and has 3 full baths. Fully fenced backyard with deck for outside family dinners and delightful front porch to watch the world walk by. Amenities include whole house central AC and high speed internet.

Charming house with wonderful owners

What a gorgeous property in a perfect location. The owners saw to our every need, even when we had to adjust our stay. We felt right at home and can’t wait to go back. Thank you so much for a perfect week in Padanaram.

Great owners

We rented this property for our daughter's wedding. The owners were very available and helpful with our needs. This home was in a great neighborhood and close to our wedding venue. The house had plenty of space and a nice backyard.

Padanarum home is like a Harry Potter tent -- deceptively modest exterior w/ unbelievable capacity!

The Honthumbs's home was a perfect base for our quick getaway. We didn't use the house to nearly its capacity -- there were just four of us for two nights and we were almost always out enjoying the beach and our friends nearby. The house is really clean and comfortable, with lots of nooks to curl up or hang out, and the beds provided great rest. The location is great, too, with easy access to just about any experience you want down on the South Coast. I'm so grateful that these adventurous folks let us take advantage of their place!

Glorious retreat

We love Padanaram (and all of the Dartmouth area) so we were thrilled when this house popped up as available. It’s in the magical village of Padanaram, it has a small community beach for your water pleasure and then every else the Dartmouth area has to offer. Fantastic. The house is really lovely inside and outside. Lots of room, very clean and air conditioned! The owners were easily accessible. We can’t wait to come back again and again. What a find.

Nice location and roomy house but lacking tlc

The house was a nice size for 3 couples including 2 kids. The upstairs had a door so my kids could sleep peacefully while we were up and didn’t have to worry about how loud we were. Location was great right near the shops. House needs a little tlc and was a bit run down. There were no blinds in one of the bedrooms so we had to use eye masks and the other room was so hot with no a/c so we never used it. Little things like no soap provided in the bathrooms took away from the b&b feel we expected. We were expected to replenish the soap in bathrooms which I thought was ridiculous for the price we paid! The cleaners didn’t do a great job so I had to buy Clorox wipes and clean kitchen and bathroom counters. The owners did apologize for this and were definitely fast in replying to the two times I reached out to them. So that was nice. Also, the beach you have access to leaves much to be desired as it is basically a lawn with a small strip of dirty sand with still water. The house worked for us but I wouldn’t rent it again.

The weather was absolutely horrendous the week Karen was here with extreme, unusual heat and a violent rain and wind storm as well. We reached out numerous times to check in and see if there was anything our guests needed. So sorry this guest had a less than wonderful stay as our goal is to make sure our guest enjoy their time in our home. To help address the concern about heat we have installed central AC for 2020.

Great family vacation spot

This house overall is super cute and a great vacation spot. We went with another family and the layout was great for having one family upstairs and the other on the main level. There is no Central air but there is a window unit upstairs that does a great job at night cooling all 3 rooms upstairs if you shut the door at the top of the stairs. The window unit on the main level is in The master, but doesn’t do a ton for the 2nd bedroom with 2 twin beds. It was really humid while we were there and we were fine though- ocean breezes are a beautiful thing! The house really had everything we needed but doesn’t have anything for litttle babies so bring a pack and play and or high chair if you need one. The beach was a great 5 minutes walk and while it’s not a sandy “day at the beach” spot, it was great in the afternoons for exploring under rocks and looking for crabs with kiddos or just enjoying a quiet peaceful sunset on your own. The backyard was spacious and perfect for grilling and hanging out. There is also a garden that they let us pick through with fresh kale, lettuce and herbs. The owners were also great. They have resources for people not familiar with the area. They were flexible with us regarding our dates and were just really easy to work with. Lastly, if you aren’t familiar with the area, welcome to cape cod without the traffic. 5-10 minutes walk gets you to 4 restaurants, and cute coffee shop with some gourmet goods, a little shopping and of course ice cream. You are also 5 minutes away and over the bridge from a public beach or 20 minutes to Horseneck state beach. There is a boat rental shop 5-10 minutes away that also rents paddle boards and kayaks. If you haven’t vacationed here, do it!

Quiet…Peaceful…Roomy…Comfortable

Quiet neighborhood, peaceful garden, roomy house, comfortable beds. This house gave us a everything we wanted. There was an issue with the hot water at the beginning of our stay, but Barbara stayed in touch and corrected the problem as quickly as possible. It’s a beautiful house with plenty of space and bathrooms. It’s perfect for s large group.

Lovely!

Very well appointed, comfortable, clean and lovey house. Host had an excellent binder of information on local farms, beaches, hiking trails and places to eat. The location is wonderful, it’s a quick walk into the village, which is nice if you would rather walk than drive for your morning coffee. Host was excellent at communicating.

Recent visit.

We were very pleased with our stay. We found the photos and description of the home to be accurate. An organized binder welcomed us with all the information we needed to settle in immediately. Barbara responded quickly to communications prior and during our stay. Barbara and Rick’s home is a short walk to the inner harbor where we safely kept our kayak and paddle board during our stay. One can take a several mile walk through neighborhoods ending up at the water front and the Farm and Coast Market for a beverage and delicious snack . Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, The Honthumb’s neighbors greeted us with smiles and waves each day.

Great location - close to village

We had a great stay at Barbara & Ricks. Our kids loved all the animals that came to visit in backyard (bunnies, birds, ground hog), and also picking some veggies from the garden. Check in was very easy. Close walk to Padnaram village for shops and restaurants - beaches also close by. Barbara was very responsive with questions during stay as well. House is well stocked with beach chairs and towels so no need to bring your own.

Wonderful spot for family gathering

This was the perfect spot for our family vacation, including children, parents, and grandparents. The house was spacious and comfortable and has all the amenities we needed. We were even able to pick and eat some fresh vegetables from the garden. Convenient access to the beach and shops was a plus. Barbara was wonderfully responsive. Would definitely recommend!

Clean House, roomy, beautiful yard

House was clean with plenty of space for four of us. Large, private yard with deck, fire pit, veggie and flower gardens. Can walk to town and association beach (small). Barbara was very helpful.

Wonderful stay

The house and location were perfect, especially in light of social distancing. With plenty of options for outdoor activities, eating, and nooks for reading. Although we were not a large group we appreciated the multiple bathrooms, bedrooms and sitting rooms. House was impeccably clean, well equipped, and comfortable- central ac was especially welcome as the week was very hot and humid! Delightful walk to the village and through charming neighborhoods.

Wonderful short stay!

This was the perfect home base for our short stay. Short walk to quaint Padanaram Village. Quick drive to Horseneck Beach and Demarest Lloyd State Park. Also enjoyed driving around nearby towns and relaxing on the deck at the end of the day. The home was comfortable and had everything we needed. Barbara was a very responsive host. Thank you for accommodating our short stay!

Fantastic Stay

We had a group of sailors in for a regatta in New Bedford. The house held 12 of us comfortably (6 adults and 6 children). The pictures are deceiving; there is plenty of room upstairs and it's bigger than you think. They provided a great binder with plenty of local attractions. You can walk to downtown South Dartmouth and get ice cream. You can also quickly drive anywhere in south Massachusetts. There is a fabulous garden in the backyard. It's beautiful and we enjoyed sitting outside, relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet. Thanks for a great stay!

Well located bright house in South Dartmouth

Our group was not the typical short term rental client. We had a total of 9 guests comprising race team sailors, parents, and a coach staying in the house for 9 nights. Our group represented the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club 29'er youth race team on the summer leg of the 2018 regatta circuit. Every one had a bed with ample access to bathrooms and showers. The on demand hot water meant we never ran out of hot water which was an extra bonus. The house was comfortable and offered good value for our needs. Full basement with laundry, large back yard with seating for our group of 9 meant we could enjoy evening bbq's. There are trees and hedges to offer shade as well as umbrellas at the tables so we could be outside and escape the sun after a long day on the water. The entire crew enjoyed the short walk to Padanaram Village to see what was going on in the boat yard as we enjoyed ice cream from the local stand. Upscale shops and restaurants can also be found there. RVanYC 29'er Race Team
