Our family of 5 loved our stay at the Driftwood Cottage! Location in Porpoise Cove was beautiful! The kids loved the kayak and paddleboards! The cottage is small but so well appointed, we had everything we needed. The yard was perfect for the kids to play and we enjoyed a fire in the fire pit. We hope to find ourselves in Maine again so can stay at the Driftwood!
Pictures couldn’t ever do this property or location justice. Morning and evening strolls down to the waters edge to watch the boats come and go with the picturesque lighthouse in the distance is to beautiful to describe. This property is a must visit if you are ever in Southern Maine and want an authentic experience.
This adorable cottage was incredible. It’s tucked away in a private neighborhood on Cape Porpoise. This is a tight-knit community where neighbors stop and chat and check in on each other. They were all friendly and welcoming!! Wonderful area to walk and kayak. And don’t forget to look up. The stars are amazing. We only wish we had planned to stay longer. The cottage has everything you need. ❤️

I am so glad you enjoyed your time. I couldn’t agree more... it is a special place. Thanks for taking such great care of our little hide away.
A cozy cottage with great location appeal - The Driftway Cottage is in a perfect location to be away from it all, yet close by to everything the area has to offer.
The Atlantic Ocean and Goat’s Island Lighthouse come into view as you approach the cozy cottage. And if you like kayaking and we do, two compliments of the owners await you just 700 feet away from where you will be staying, ready to be launched. There are also two paddle boards for your riding pleasure.
It’s a comfortable retreat for two but there are accommodations for more with 3 single beds in the second bedroom. The cottage is compact, but it has all the necessities needed and you are not going to want stay indoors with all there is to do at the waters edge, or at the beach, or antiquing or shopping at Dock Square or dining in the many restaurants or just lounging by the sea. There’s even food markets close by to pick up a few goodies. This year was our first stay at Driftway Cottage, but we are already looking at the calendar for a repeat visit.

So glad you enjoyed your stay! Thank you for the mugs… you two are so sweet and welcome back any time!
This was our 2nd stay at Driftwood Cottage. We wouldn't change a thing....it's our favorite place to stay anywhere! It's our fairytale getaway. 💙 We can't wait to go back!!!
Quintessential cottage by the sea; everything a Maine vacation should be at the perfect home and location in Cape Porpoise. Libby and her husband were the perfect hosts; bed linens, towels, beach badges, and even a corn hole set and outdoor living space! Upon entering the cottage, there's a small binder filled with take-out menus, maps, trails, Kennebunkport and cape porpoise shops, country stores, and lobster huts. The best part about the cottage is you can walk 500 yards down a small gravel hill, and you’ll find a kayak’s dream! The hosts graciously lend you their kayaks, paddle boards and life vests. There wasn't a day that went by that we didn't take full advantage of the clear, calm coastal waters either looking for hermit crabs or paddling to one of the near-by islands to explore. Our children loved it. We paddled across the bay to the Fisherman’s wharf to get lunch; it was the best-fried haddock and lobster roll we’ve ever had! Everything was within walking distance or a quick bike ride (we brought our own bikes), and the neighbors were so nice too! Although the cottage is small, the warmth from the decor and outdoor living space, make it feel much larger! Outside, the corner lot is equipped with a comfy wicker couch, two oversized chairs with a lot of pillows, and a picnic table. There is also an outdoor shower to rinse off sandy feel! This allowed us to spread out a little more and enjoy outdoor living, we used the fire pit almost every night. Everything was perfect, clean, and decorated nicely; the location and amenities were outstanding. If you're seeking a typical Maine vacation adventure, then this is the rental home for your family! Thank you Libby, your home was worth the wait!
This is our second summer at Driftwood Cottage. A week’s stay literally 700 feet from the coves, inlets and islands of Cape Porpoise. A paddlers dream vacation. The cottage is not big but very cozy. A short drive brings you to many of the area’s attractions - Dock Square, beaches, restaurants, antique shops and more. The hosts are a pleasure to deal with.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Driftwood Cottage. The location is wonderful and we loved using the paddle boards and kayaks to paddle around the cove. The cottage was well appointed with kitchen supplies, cozy beds and soft linens. We cooked every night using the cook top and grill, but I’d suggest packing an air fryer or something because there is no oven. We forgot but made due. The yard is lovely and we used the fire pit a few times when weather permitted. Aside from the location, my favorite thing about this cottage was the outdoor shower. We highly recommend this little cottage for a small family getaway.
My family and I recently got back from spending a week at the Driftwood Cottage to end our last week of summer before our kids returned to school. We had an amazing time here! We found the property to be extremely clean, well-appointed, and well-equipped. It was great having a private, beautiful neighborhood to be a part of during our stay. The convenience to Dock Square and the various beaches was fantastic. The hosts were super responsive as well. A great experience all around.
Maine never disappoints. My family and I had a great time exploring the area north of Kennebunkport. The beaches, the restaurants, the shopping, it never gets old. The cottage is equipped with many outdoor sports for children and adults. My granddaughter loved the trampoline swing.
The cottage was adorable. Decorated with beachy decor and we had everything we needed. Nestled into a charming private dirt road with the most magnificent view of the lighthouse at the top of the road. The neighbors were all so friendly. The cottage is small but the yard is huge and there is a small firepit and cornhole so kids spent time outside in the yard. Everything you would need to enjoy Maine. We loved it.
I cannot say enough good things about this cottage. It’s small but every inch of space is thoughtfully used and the hosts thought of everything you might need, from kitchen items, to beach and picnic gear, plenty of towels, etc. It’s close enough to Kennebunkport so that restaurants are a short drive or bike ride but also in a quiet community just a few steps from a beautiful cove. Just perfect!
My family and I loved the Driftwood Cottage! We started each morning with a walk to the cove for kayaking and paddle boarding. The location could not be better, and our hosts provided all the equipment. We were also an easy drive to sandy beaches and town. The cottage itself is small, but thoughtfully equipped. We had everything we needed, and our hosts were easy to contact and responsive. We will definitely return!
Libby was amazing to work with - responsive and helpful every step of the way. This was a perfect spot for our family of 4 - close to everything we wanted to do but yet removed from the hustle and bustle of downtown. We can’t wait to go back next year!

I am so glad you all enjoyed your time in Maine! Thanks for taking such great care of our little cottage!
We loved our stay at the Driftwood Cottage and would definitely return! The cottage had all we needed and more. Our group of 4 adults and 1 child loved the short walk to the water and using the kayak and paddleboards. The neighbors were very kind! The outdoor shower was a bonus!
The cottage is small but the owners have used the space wisely. We were 4 adults and a child and felt comfortable for the space. The outdoor shower helped tremendously. Thank you for a lovely time at Driftwood Cottage.

We are so glad you had a nice week. Thank you for taking such great care of our little cottage. You are welcome back anytime!
Brett and Libby were amazing to work with, they were very responsive to our questions, the cottage was very clean and well thought out. Every space in the cottage had a useful purpose! The area was quiet but close to Kennybunkport, a very cute coastal town with plenty of things to see and do. They even had a well organized book of places to see, restaurants to eat at, beaches to go to, and other helpful hints! The cottage is located near a cove, where you can use their kayak or paddle boards. Such a beautiful place, we feel so lucky to have stumbled upon this gem!

Driftwood Cottage
We enjoyed our stay at Driftwood Cottage. It was just the location we were looking for away from the busyness of Kennebunkport. Brett & Libby have done a nice job creating a warm and inviting cozy space that feels bigger than it is! Even though the weather did not permit us to enjoy the kayaking and paddle boarding; it would be a lovely location to enjoy those activities!

Sweet little cottage in a friendly neighborhood
We had a lovely Maine summer vacation in this delightful cottage. The house is small but well supplied. We enjoyed kayaking, beach time, Oguniquit Playhouse, Perkin's Cove and Kennebunkport during our stay. Libby is very responsive to inquiries. This property is perfect for small parties who want to unplug and enjoy the beauty of the Maine coast.

About the host
Hosted by B and L Costello
We have been vacationing in Kennebunkport for years. After several years of renting various homes in the area, we decided to buy a cottage of our own.
Why they chose this property
When we drove into the neighborhood, we immediately fell in love. The ocean views are gorgeous and the people are so friendly. Driftwood Cottage has everything we wanted in a summer home.
What makes this property unique
At Driftwood Cottage you are steps to the ocean where you can paddleboard, kayak, or swim. Also, Dock Square is two miles away and all the best beaches are within 5 miles!! The quiet neighborhood makes you feel away from it all, but you are also close to the action. Driftwood Cottage is truly the best of both worlds.
