Pros: -Bed setup for 5 to sleep in bedrooms (great for families with 3 kids)-2 full bathrooms -Plenty of kitchen, dining and living space with seating for everyone-Nicely stocked kitchen-Location is minutes from groceries, restaurants, Anna Maria Island, Lido Key, and more. -Beach umbrellas and a handful of beach toys (more usually available near the beach entrance)-Pool was nice, with a few shady spots to sit and plenty of toys and floats-Beach was beautiful and clean (you do need to drag your own chairs and set your own umbrellas)Cons (minor):-Pans could use an update, the non-stick surface is scratched and worn-Primary bedroom mattress is hard and squeaks and squawks just to get into and out of bed

Pretty view...interior needs work

The AC worked great! The kitchen cabinets were new looking.The condo’s pictures are beautiful but the reality is that this is an older Florida condo that needs some updating. When we arrived, the floors had sand everywhere. We cleaned the condo completely. We had issues with the master bathroom toilet. We did call about it, and on the second person coming, they said it was fixed. The toilet still ran all night long every night. Both bathrooms are extremely small and there is no air vents in either of them. The second bathroom had very old fixtures, and the handheld shower had splits in the plastic, which caused water to shoot out everywhere.The blind to the big picture window was broken upon arrival. We had to end up placing the blind on top of it holder, so we could have the beautiful picture window view. The kitchen sink leaked and the faucets leaked as well in both the kitchen and the bathrooms. They were various places were paint had chipped away, and rather than fixing it and sanding it down they had painted over it.Our last couple of days caused cockroaches to come out. There had been a storm, and this could’ve brought them out. I lived in Florida for many years and grew up there, truly never had this issue. The palm trees were overgrown and hanging in the Porch. This could’ve been part of the reason. With a storm that came in while we were there, the whole facility has water that runs through. You expect to come in from the parking lot and be dry as you walk in but you get very wet as The water drips through the floors.The unit did not have a washer and dryer. You are responsible for your linens, therefore they provide a laundry facility near the office. The air must not have been working in there because it was like a sauna. Most of the dryers do not work very well. The washers worked well, but the dryers required multiple t

Relaxing get-away with great views

The condo is nicely situated with beach views that you can only get on LBK. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds are comfortable, and the amenities provide everything you’ll need.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Unit 219 has one of the best panoramic views of the gulf from the balcony. Even when the outside temperature is not suitable or too windy for the beach, you are sheltered from north wind. Umbrella base on the balcony is wobbly and you have to keep an eye on it when extended and windy. That said, the unit is not perfect but certainly pleasant enough. Many units at sand cay have a lot of beach accessories in the utility room but this one had only an old umbrella with no sand screw base. Luckily the office had a base that fit the umbrella so we could use. Appliances in kitchen are great. Skillets for breakfast are old and no longer non stick. Bedrooms are odd setup. Main has large queen but sits far off the floor. 2nd BR has a full and single but mattresses seem old and soft. Master bath is small and shower pretty narrow. Internet was good. TV took some work since coffee table had four remotes and batteries were dead on main remote. Staff was terrific. Location on LBK is ideal. We have stayed at SC for many years at various units and if they would improve bedroom setup this one might be a favorite.

The home definitely would have warranted 5 stars except for 2 issues that should be resolved for the next guest. When we arrived, two sets of blinds were broken in the living room and couldn’t be pulled up, resulting in a dark living room / no view. Unfortunately they could not be fixed in a timely manner as the 3rd party service provider wasn’t available. So after a day, we ended up just removing them down ourselves. I would note, we also saw a few cockroaches inside unit (common in FL so not a huge surprise) so would encourage the staff to give the property an extra spray

Annual Vacation to Longboat Key

My wife and grandchildren loved the location and view. We will be coming back again next year I’m sure. Only negative I have is the price is going to high per night and it looks like most unit are going to 7 day minimum stay. There should be a price break for 7 day nightly rates. To the staff, keep up the great work maintaining the property.

Beachside Comfort

We had a wonderful time at Sand Cay. Beautiful view from our balcony, just steps from beachfront, nice pool, plenty of lounge chairs. Everything was comfortable and clean. Condo decor a bit dated, but who cares? Office staff was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend this unit!

Our Fall Getaway

The photos of the condo and property were exactly how everything looked - very clean and well kept. The leather furniture in the living room was unexpected in a rental and in very nice condition. The bathrooms are small so we used one each which worked well for us. There was an oscillating fan in the closet as well as stools and sand toys. We're considering coming back - we enjoyed it so much.

Reviewer Comments: Our 1st time at Sand Cay, use to rent for the past 12 years as Casa del Mar (along the beach) but Sand cay was much better with all the same facilities but much nicer staff. Just 1 point, with no Netflex or Amazon available, the TV options (using a 20 year old DvD and watching 20+ year old movies (again) must be considered for the future, this will only become a bigger issue.
