Welcome to Wai‘ula‘ula at Mauna Kea---a private, gated community on the Hapuna Golf Course.
Relax in our 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom, 2,100 sqft. condominium and enjoy the many upgrades we’ve added to our home, including hardwood floors, new bedroom carpeting, an updated outdoor kitchen, and more.
As original owners, we selected our 1st floor condo during Wai’ula’ula’s pre-build phase for its 650 sqft. wrap-around lanai, its preferred orientation during Kohala’s windiest days, and its proximity to the community’s recreation center. Our lanai’s northwestern exposure offers views of the ocean, the Kohala coast and, on clear days, the magnificence of Maui’s Haleakala across the channel.
We’ve spared little expense furnishing our home for family and friends, and trust that it will offer you the warmest aloha during your stay on the Big Island. Our unit offers: kitchen bar stools; an indoor dining table; two master suites with king size beds, dual sink bathrooms with a tub and walk-in shower; internet access; multiple 60”+ web-based HDTVs; Polynesian-inspired furnishings, a third bedroom with twin beds and a futon; a Bluetooth sound bar; two Tropitone outdoor tables/chairs on our lanai; an outdoor kitchen with sink, six-burner Weber Summit grill and refrigerator; and finally a wide variety of pool/beach extras, including towels, toys, snorkeling gear, boogie boards, etc. We also ensure that our kitchen and laundry are equipped with virtually every necessity to accommodate you during your stay.
As one of the closest units to the community recreation center, you are steps away from a saline infinity pool, hot tub, outdoor showers, indoor lounge with HDTV, BBQ pavilion, toddler’s pool and fitness center. You’re also just a short drive from two of Hawaii's most beautiful white sand beaches at the Hapuna Prince and Mauna Kea resorts.
Should you wish to participate in the resorts’ (Mauna Kea and Hapuna Prince) Amenity Package, a nominal activation & card fee offers you charging privileges, as well as access to each resort’s fitness center, pool, beach towels, chaises and umbrellas. This Amenity Package also includes preferential resort parking and discounted rates for golf and tennis.
Days pass quickly with: sunrise and Kona coffee; a workout at the gym; a jog to either of the resorts; aerobic/yoga classes; breakfast on our griddle; paddle boarding; snorkeling; swimming; boogie boarding; golf; tennis; lounging on the beach; lunch at Mauna Kea’s Hau Tree beach restaurant; reading on our lanai; exploring the island; drinks, music, and sunsets at Mauna Kea’s Copper Terrace; grilling on our BBQ; dinner on our lanai; a movie on our 65” HDTV; and star gazing into an amazing night sky.

We specifically selected our 1st floor condo for its practical comfort, the expanse of its wrap-around lanai, surrounding grass, northern orientation which protects against Kohala's occasional trade winds, and its proximity to the community's recreation center. We have also personalized our unit with a variety of upgrades, including: hard wood floors, upgraded carpeting in the bedrooms, unique Polynesian-style furniture, a completely remodeled outdoor kitchen, and very inviting audio/visual equipment.

Great experience all the way around
In general, the Wai Ula Ula units are phenomenal - nicely appointed, good location, spacious, most have good views. This one had the added benefits of being on the ground floor and closely located to the amenity center which includes community pool and fitness room. We used these every day and the close proximity was a bonus. This unit is also nicely appointed but perhaps the best aspect of our stay were the owners - they are wonderful. Very nice, accommodating, and responsive. I highly recommend anyone to rent this unit and would be shocked if your experience isn't identical to ours.
What a special way to celebrate my milestone birthday with my family in such a lovely environment. The additional fee per day for all the resort access was incredible and was a no-brainer for us. The few times we used the pool by the unit, we were the only ones there! We referred to Erika's suggestions for things to see and places to eat - saved us a bunch of time (check on some of the farmers markets before you do as they are open only certain days of the week). Absolutely wonderful - we will be back!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful condo. It was beautifully furnished, and very well equipped - like a home a way from home. It was extremely roomy, and has some nice outdoor living space which was perfect for the kids. Grilling fresh fish on the lanai at sunset, was an amazing way to end the day. We settled in quickly and had an amazing week. We are looking forward to our next visit already! :)
Fantastic modern unit with great owners situated on best resort on the Big Island.
This is our 3rd visit to the Big Island and the Mauna Kea resort area. This is our second stay at this exact unit. Updated unit is excellent and spacious with everything you will need. This is a ground floor unit which adds that extra feeling of space. Lots of beach toys for kids and adults. The amenities package purchased through the resort is a MUST. Access to the 2 resort hotel amenities and beaches is well worth the cost. We golfed 9 holes about 5 times in the afternoon at Hapuna beach. Mauna Kea golf is a bit pricey but the practice facility is great. This unit is a stones throw from the wailualua amenities centre with lovely gym and pool/hot tub area. The owners are excellent to deal with! We had something fairly significant mechanical go wrong during our visit (unexpected stuff happens with any property) and they went out of their way and I am sure at great cost to get this repaired as soon as humanly possibly. Excellent service as always from Erika and Greg. What more can I say but that we have booked our stay for next year already. We would always try and book this unit if available.
Outstanding Mauna Kea area condo
Spacious and well equipped 3 bedroom condo. Very comfortable for a large family or 3 couples. Outstanding internet and TV with Netflix and Amazon prime. Be sure to take the amenity package which allows access to both the Mauna Kea and Hapuna Prince hotel properties including fitness, pools and great beaches.
good spot. everything was well appointed. mauna kea beach is the best on the island. get the room number/beach usage option.

A $300 Departure Cleaning Fee will be charged at check-out through Mauna Kea Resort Services. This is a separate fee that is not included in the Rental quote. Optional Resort Access Fee $65 per family/group (not per person) is billed to your resort account along with $300 departure cleaning fee.
