Vintage Canyon Retreat in Mount Washington is a 3-bedroom home with an office, panoramic canyon views, and mid-century charm. Built in 1965 and updated with care, it sits on a large private lot with citrus trees, outdoor dining, and warm interiors. With a king suite, queen room, twin room, office, and peaceful surroundings, the home sleeps up to six and is ideal for short-term or monthly guests seeking a quiet Los Angeles escape.
This 2,206 square foot home captures the relaxed character of mid-century California. Built in 1965 and lightly remodeled over time, it blends original charm with comfortable updates for longer stays. Art, collected objects, and thoughtfully refreshed vintage furniture give the home a creative and welcoming feel.
The layout includes three bedrooms and a dedicated office, providing space for guests who need to work or unwind. The primary bedroom includes a king bed, the second bedroom includes a queen bed, and the third bedroom offers a twin bed along with a blow-up air mattress for added flexibility. The home sleeps up to six guests.
The living and dining areas feel warm and open, with natural light and canyon breezes flowing throughout the day. The family room includes a TV with Roku for streaming. The atmosphere is intentionally calm and simple, encouraging guests to slow down, read, cook, work, or relax without distraction.
The kitchen maintains its classic 1960s character while offering modern essentials. It opens to multiple outdoor dining spaces surrounded by mature citrus trees. Guests are welcome to pick oranges, lemons, grapefruit, limes, and tangerines during their stay. It is a true expression of the Southern California lifestyle.
The property sits on a large 0.43-acre lot, offering privacy, quiet surroundings, and views in several directions. On clear days, you can see toward the Griffith Park Observatory and across the canyon toward Dodger Stadium. The steady hillside breeze keeps the home comfortable year-round.
The home includes a washer and dryer in the garage, use of the driveway for parking, and easy street parking.
Some furnishings may evolve slightly as the owner continues to elevate the space over time.
Guests will have access to the entire property; no one else will be on-site except for the weekly landscaper.

Guests will find coffee shops, small galleries, hiking trails, wine bars, and local restaurants throughout the surrounding area. The neighborhood is ideal for longer stays, writers, artists, and travelers looking for a calm home base with easy access to the rest of Los Angeles.
Most people choose to have a car when visiting Southern California. There are an abundant amount of unique and significant attractions within two hours of this home. If you’re an explorer, we recommend a car.
If you’re the type that wants to arrive and relax at the house on your vacation, Uber and Lyft are readily available as well.

By booking with us, you agree to sign our Rental Agreement. You understand that your check-in instructions will be sent after successfully signing our Rental Agreement.
Please note that in the State of CA, guests staying over 30 nights are legally required to sign a legal CAR form with the DRE. Our Broker of Record will send you this CAR form for signature once payment is made. Your reservation will be considered ready to go once the form is signed!
There is a 10-day grace period to return any items taken from the home at check-out (keys, garage remotes, etc). Replacement costs will be charged to guests if items are not received within 10 days of check-out.
At Open Air Homes, every detail is prepared in advance so your stay is seamless and enjoyable. Vintage Canyon Retreat in Mount Washington offers a peaceful, creative, and spacious home for exploring Los Angeles or settling in for a longer monthly stay.
Dogs are welcome but must be pre-approved, flea-free, and have no behavioral issues. Unauthorized pets may result in additional charges up to $1000 and or eviction.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property. This area is a high fire risk zone, and open flames are not allowed.

- By booking with us, you agree to sign our Rental Agreement. You understand that your check-in instructions will be sent after successfully signing our Rental Agreement.
- Please note that in the State of CA, guests staying over 30 nights are legally required to sign a legal CAR form with the DRE. Our Broker of Record will send you this CAR form for signature once payment is made. Your reservation will be considered ready to go once the form is signed!
- Damages and/or failure to pick up after your pet may result in additional charges at check-out. Pets and animals are not permitted at the property at any time whatsoever unless otherwise agreed upon in writing prior to booking. Failure to comply with this will result in an additional charge of up to $1000 and/or eviction without limiting any other legal or equitable remedies available to Owner and/or Company.
- For any items left behind after check-out, guests will be charged the shipping costs and an additional service fee of $25.
- A minimum of $25 will be charged per lost or unreturned keys, fobs, or access cards. Please ensure they are returned before check-out.
- Please note that this is a non-smoking property. Any violation of the no-smoking policy will result in a $250 fine.
- Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 8 AM. Please be mindful of the noise level during these hours to respect neighbors and others in the area.
- Guests are responsible for any damage to the property or its contents during their stay. Any damages must be reported immediately to the host to ensure proper documentation.
- Please dispose of all trash in the designated bins provided. If the trash bins are full, please notify the host for further instructions.
- Any unregistered guests are not allowed to stay overnight without prior written approval from the host. Additional guests may result in an additional charge.
- Utilities are included up to the property’s recent average usage. Any excessive use above that amount may result in additional charges. If applicable, payment for utility overages is due within 14 days of check-out.
