About the property

Once You Park Your Car Walk To The Beach In Search Of Your First Petoskey Stone!

Enjoy a great family vacation in Charlevoix by staying at The Bonnie Lodge! We are perfectly located less than one block from Lake Michigan Beach and one block from downtown Charlevoix. The Bonnie Lodge has 6 bedrooms, 3 full baths, kitchen, spacious breakfast room, dining room, laundry room, and a front porch that views Lake Michigan's most beautiful sunsets in Charlevoix!

The Bonnie Lodge was built in 1897. Our parents purchased our summer home from an Aunt in 1975. Our Mother was born on Beaver Island and was raised in Charlevoix.

Make fun family memories in Charlevoix like we have for years! Enjoy the two beautiful beaches on Lake Michigan (Michigan Beach) and Lake Charlevoix (The Depot Beach). We enjoy spending the day at The Depot Beach playing volleyball, swimming, and barbecuing. Michigan Beach includes concessions and swimming along the Charlevoix Lighthouse. Also, steps away fish off the pier with no boat needed to fish. Drop a line and catch your small mouth bass. Take time to experience the best golfing in the Midwest! At Dunamaglas you will enjoy the peaceful scenery. Take the Ironton Ferry for 9 holes at Ye Nyne Olde Holles. In town take the kids to the oldest golf club in Michigan, The Charlevoix Golf Club (9 holes). Take a walk downtown Charlevoix for some shopping and dining. The Bistro I highly recommend for lunch or dinner from sushi to their lobster mac n cheese. Terry's is ideal for families. Plenty to choose from their menu but known for the best white fish in town! For fine dining I recommend The Grey Gables on the south end of town. Enjoy the piano player on weekends with your special someone.

Thanks ~ The Bonnie Lodge

Charming old home in the heart of Charlevoix

  • 5 of 5

11 of us stayed at the Bonnie Lodge for a destination wedding. A very charming, old home with tons of character and the location is fantastic. It is just a short walk to the beach or to the many shops and restaurants. We were extremely happy with the Bonnie Lodge!

Thanks for a great weekend.

A good but not great house.

  • 2 of 5

The house was old and worn, but generally comfortable for our 3-day visit. I would probably stay there again. We did encounter numerous troubles, however. The garbage cans were completely full when we arrived, leaving no space for our trash. The weather was chilly and we could not turn on the heat with the thermostat. The space heaters helped, but blew the circuit breaker when two of them were running at the same time. The basement, where the circuit breakers were, was spooky. Several downstairs light fixtures did not work. A knife drawer in the kitchen is dangerous; it spilled big kitchen knives onto my feet when I opened it.

But the listing description was accurate, the place was clean, if not well maintained, the owner provided good service in advance of our visit, and the downtown location was a plus.

Perfect location!!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I have stayed at the Bonnie Lodge before, that's why we came back. You cannot beat the location, close to town and the beach. The house has everything you need, we always bring food with us and cook our meals, the kitchen is small and charming, all with updated appliances. It feels like home away from home. Plenty of room for a large family. The Bonnie Lodge was very clean and inviting. Would come back again.😊

Bonnie Lodge Was All We Could Ask For

  • 5 of 5

Had a great time at the Bonnie Lodge. House had everything we needed for a great weekend in Charlevoix. Easy walking distance to center of town and half a block from Lake Michigan. Highly recommend to anyone with a large family or group of people.

Perfect location!

  • 5 of 5

Bonnie Lodge was a great place for our stay in Charlevoix. There was plenty of room to spread out or to be together in one room. There were six adults and we enjoyed walking to restaurants and around town, but also sitting on the front porch saying hi to our neighbors. We made day trips to Petoskey, Traverse City, and Sleeping Bear Dunes. When we arrived it was an unusually cold night and a phone call to the owner resolved the problem quickly. The house is old with the charm that goes with age.

Our Family Vacation in Charlevoix was excellent!

  • 4 of 5

Excellent location. We all enjoyed walking and shopping in town, the beach and sunsets, the farmers market, outdoor concerts, and the big front porch.

My family and extended family includes 9 adults and 3 children. We stayed 1 week and traveled around the area. The house fit 12 people comfortably.

The kitchen needs attention. Everything in the house has been updated except the kitchen. The lack of cabinets, counter space, utensils, pots and pans, dishes, etc. made cooking for 12 challenging. Thank goodness for the gas grill.

Overall we enjoyed the Bonnie Lodge. We absolutely loved our MI vacation in Charlevoix.
