Picture yourself soaking in a private hot tub as mountain air wraps around you — the slopes just minutes away, the fire pit crackling nearby, and nothing on the agenda but making memories. Slopeside Shenanigans is your family's four-season mountain basecamp inside Massanutten Resort, Virginia. Adventures fill the days. The hot tub, the fire pit, and the game room bring everyone back together at night.
Slopeside Shenanigans is a three-story townhome inside Massanutten Resort — renovated and designed for the way families actually vacation. The open-concept main floor invites everyone in together: oversized seating, a large Smart TV, and glass door that open to the deck and fresh mountain air. It feels immediately like a home rather than a rental — the difference you notice the moment you set down your bags.
The kitchen is fully equipped for real cooking — full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, and all the cookware and utensils you need for post-ski pasta nights or a slow, unhurried Saturday morning breakfast. A dining table seats the whole group comfortably and the layout flows naturally from cooking to eating to relaxing.
The game room downstairs is where the trip's energy truly comes alive. A foosball table ignites friendly competition within minutes, kids discover their own space, and the adults reclaim the living room upstairs. It is one of those rare vacation amenities that earns its keep from the very first evening.
Three bedrooms sleep up to eight guests comfortably: a king bed in the primary suite with a quiet, restful feel; a queen in the second bedroom; and another queen bed in the third bedroom— no one draws the short straw. Every room has fresh linens and a Smart TV for those evenings when the mountain has worn you out in the best way.
Outside, the private hot tub and fire pit are the emotional heart of every stay here. After a full day skiing, hiking the trails, or splashing at the water park, sinking into hot water while stars emerge above the Virginia treeline is exactly what a mountain escape should feel like. The outdoor deck adds morning coffee with wooded views and evenings gathered around the fire. Dogs are welcome — the whole family makes the trip.
LOCATION AND WHAT'S NEARBY Slopeside Shenanigans sits inside Massanutten Resort — one of the Mid-Atlantic's most complete four-season destinations. In winter, 14 ski slopes and 9 lifts are minutes from the door, making it one of Virginia's largest ski areas. Snow tubing runs right on the resort require zero experience and deliver maximum fun for every age. Year-round, the Massanutten Indoor WaterPark is just minutes away. The Mountain Mayhem Alpine Roller Coaster — 2,500 feet of mountain terrain — earns mention in nearly every guest review as the activity kids insist on repeating. Resort golf, ziplines, mountain biking, and lake activities round out the spring through fall seasons beautifully.
Beyond the resort: Luray Caverns (approximately 15 miles), Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive (approximately 20 miles), and Harrisonburg — home to James Madison University, excellent dining, and local breweries (approximately 10 miles west).

Katy was very welcoming and responsive. They had a great online guide which made it very easy to find information. The house was very clean and well stocked. We loved that they had games for us to play and the hot tub was also a hit!
