Perfect in every way!

  • 5 of 5

A perfect retreat in lovely historic Charleston. Location is exceptional amid the most beautiful homes in all of Charleston, just south of Broad. The carriage house is nicely appointed, very quiet, fine linens and a bed to die for. Everything is within walking distance. The property owner, Virginia, couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. We travel quite a bit and would never stay anywhere else when we return to Charleston.

We have stayed in several B&Bs in Charleston but we can honestly say this is our favorite! Perfect apartment in the heart of historic Charleston. We look forward to coming back! So convenient we never got into our car our entire stay!

6 Lovely Nights in Charleston

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay in this carriage house from June 28 - July 4. The neighborhood is unbelievably beautiful, filled with historic homes, beautifully landscaped gardens, and flickering carriage lanterns. The carriage house is connected to a larger colonial-style mansion, whose owners are incredibly hospitable and gracious. We loved chatting with the owners on the occasions when they were enjoying the evening from their porch. The house is walking distance to dozens of the best restaurants in town, and centrally located to many of the historic sites and the waterfront park (Battery.) We had a car and had no problem parking on the side street in front of the home. For visiting the local beaches and plantations/gardens, we were a short driving distance.

The apartment itself was very pleasant. I loved the decor, which seemed quintessentially Charleston in character (beautiful antiques, a four-poster bed, and Chinoiserie roman shades.) The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was well-appointed with soft towels and hotel-style soaps. We loved reading and relaxing in the adjoining small living area, which is surrounded by windows overlooking the private garden.

The next time we visit Charleston, we will absolutely stay here again! We had a wonderful vacation!

Great location! Pretty much walkable to everything. We loved the separate entrance to the apartment. The owners were very nice and welcoming. Our favorite part is the history of the home!
