Muskoka Family Cottage On Crystal Clear High Lake

Bedrooms 3
Space 1,000 sq. ft.
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 3 - 7 nights

About the property

3 bedroom, 1 bathroom, sleeps 6-8 with sunset lake view

Here is a great 3 bedroom cottage with 100 feet of shoreline, on beautiful crystal clear High Lake. This cottage is located at the end of a quiet, private road and has the natural beauty of trees built up along rock on one side. The cottage sits just slightly elevated from the shoreline with a gradual sloping yard down to the lake. The new deck across the front of the cottage gives a great vantage point for relaxing or dining as you gaze out across the water. The western exposure provides all day sun or you can sit back under the shade of nearby trees.

For a dip into the refreshing clear waters, you can walk in from the sand bottomed shore that slopes very gently or shallow dive from the end of the long dock where the water is about 4-5 feet deep. There is a sandy beach area that is great for kids. Kids will love splashing and playing here and the hard packed sand bottom makes it a real joy for wading and swimming.

Enjoy your day on the new dock where the sun shines from late morning to sunset. High Lake is a small spring fed lake which means it tends to be a warmer lake and an ideal size for families to enjoy by canoe or pedal boat. Canoe over to the top of the waterfall flowing into Skeleton Lake or go over to the jumping rock. Climb up and jump off. There is a fire pit at the waterfront so you can sit and enjoy star gazing, campfires, marshmallow roasting and story-telling

Inside the recently updated cottage, you'll find it meticulously kept. You enter into the Muskoka room, where you can sit and relax on the new leather sofa while enjoying a view of the lake through the large picture windows. Once you go through the door you will be in the spacious living and dining rooms. The living room offers plenty of comfortable seating and the dining room table seats 6 comfortably. There is a fully stocked clean white kitchen. One of the three bedrooms enjoys a great view out over the lake.

Whether relaxing in the living room, sitting on the dock, or just chilling out on the deck with your favourite beverage, enjoying cottage life is easy.

Why Dana chose Muskoka District

We spent numerous summers at a friend's cottage on the lake. When one became available we knew that this was the perfect place to own a cottage.

Beautiful views on High Lake

  • 5 of 5

My parents and I, as well at my brother, sister-in-law and 1 year old nephew stayed for a 4 day weekend on High Lake. We had a wonderful time. The cottage is exactly as pictured. The dock is awesome and many hours were spent on the red and blue muskoka chairs looking out over the water. The cottage is great for little kids. The front sun room made the perfect play room for my nephew and all his toys. The cottage is well equipped in terms of the necessities. It was spic and span when we arrived!

The shallow water and shoreline are perfect for little ones to dig in the sand and wade into the water. The location at the end of the road means that there are no neighbors to you left, just beautiful Canadian Shield, trees and lake. It really is so peaceful.

The owners were extremely helpful and answered all my questions before we arrived.

I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a clean, well equipped, relaxing Muskoka getaway.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our week on High Lake. The cottage is very clean, comfortable and well-equipped. The sunset views from the deck and dock are stunning. The lake water is warm and virtually weed free. Highly recommended for those who are looking for a restful retreat in beautiful Muskoka.

A Few Days of Excellent R& R

  • 5 of 5

I rented this cottage for my wife and I for a few days after the labour day weekend. We needed some much needed R&R after sending our daughter off to College which was as any parent knows, is a crazy, hectic and emotional time. This cottage was exactly as pictured and described. It is finished to the tee inside, extremely clean, well kept and everything is in working order. It is also loaded with everything you need. Despite some cooler temps, the lake was still very warm and the gradual walk into the clear water from the beach was perfect - excellent for those with younger children or for older folks. We enjoyed the peace and quiet for 5 days and would absolutely recommend this cottage. We also enjoy the rocky landscape that encompasses the Muskoka area so this is the place for us and we will definitely be heading back next year. Thank you for sharing your paradise with us.

Great time at High Lake in Muskoka!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent one week here in early July this year. Two of our married children joined us for three nights along with our two year old grand daughter. Both the cottage and the property have been meticulously cared for and maintained. The waterfront is very child friendly with a sand beach and shallow water to play in. There is a canoe and paddle board to explore the shoreline and a water trampoline for the children to jump on. The lake is warm and calm with very few motor boats to disturb the peacefulness. The cottage is spacious, with a well equiped kitchen, lovely Muskoka room to enjoy the view, and very comfortable beds. Everything is modern, clean, organized, in very good condition and functions perfectly. The owners seemed to think of everything to accomodate their guests, and provided a very complete binder with all the information to create a worry free vacation. I would recommend this cottage to anyone who likes a peaceful holiday by the lake. The owner was particularily great to deal with, answering emails or phone calls in a very timely manner. Truly a wonderful place!!!

Muskoka Beauty! Perfect for a family escape. Meticulously kept.

  • 5 of 5

My family of 4 stayed here for a week in August. From the moment we entered the cottage, we were very impressed and pleasantly surprised. The cottage has been recently updated, is very clean and organized. The view from the deck is amazing and we were lucky to be able to see a full moon reflecting off the peaceful lake. Breath taking! Our 2 young children (ages 6&5) enjoyed full days in the water, climbing the rocks and exploring. The water trampoline and paddle boat were favourites. There are many water toys and games there to keep little ones busy. My husband and I were happy to relax on the deck. The location was easy to find and the property is well maintained. The lake is perfect for swimming as it is calm and warm. We were welcomed with a gift bag containing chocolate, graham crackers and marshmallows for smores which we enjoyed at our campfire the first night. A nice touch and a great way to set the tone for the week. The kitchen is well stocked with anything you could need for preparing meals and picnics. All appliances, stereo and TVs are up to date and functioning. The pictures in the listing certainly reflect the cottage, and we found it to be more spacious than we anticipated. We did encounter some unfortunate weather conditions but were able to find activities in nearby Huntsville and Bracebridge. Our family had a blast at Huntsville Bowl. If it weren't for the weather (10degreesC and rain) we wouldn't have needed to leave the cottage all week. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone wanting a relaxing and worry-free vacation. The owner has been exceptional to deal with. You can tell that they take pride in their property and want guests to feel comfortable.
