About this property
ULA Deluxe Camper
Meet Ula. Once owned by a world‑famous windsurfer who enjoyed her for years, Ula was originally designed to support a windsurfing lifestyle, with minimal comforts and maximum space for boards and gear.
Ula came to me as an opportunity to keep the spirit of adventure alive
.I kept the original bones of the habitable space and built cabinets, shelves, and storage out of salvaged wood that once carried surf gear. I added a sink with an electric water pump and a 5‑gallon holding tank. I also installed an efficient 1000‑watt power inverter, LED map lights, turbo fans, and several USB ports.
We finished it off with durable LifeProof flooring and stocked ULA with all the essentials you need for a camping vacation.
ULA currently has two big, comfortable captain’s chairs, cold A/C, and fewer than 60,000 original miles. Please keep in mind that ULA is a big rig, with a 9.5‑foot‑high roof and an overall length of about 16 feet. If you enjoy driving fast, this is not the vehicle for you. Having experience driving larger vehicles is a good idea if you’re considering taking ULA out.
Please Note:
• Renters must be 25 or older
• Required Insurance is $18 per day
(billed separately from VRBO)
Our camper vans are priced far below what the high price of visiting Maui reflects. We keep our rates comparatively low considering you are renting a vehicle and sleeping accommodations bundled together for less than $150 a day . t
The average price of a hotel is close to $800 night and a BNB style condo goes for $175-$1000 a night .
For nearly a decade I have hosted close to 1000 guests .
This is the best way to visit to Maui for nature/adventure enthusiasts, people with camping experience and people who love adventure that go with the flow ,
Guests who understand they are not renting a 4 wheel drive Jeep and not staying in a luxury hotel have the best experiences.
When Camping you can and should expect inclement weather , Bugs and other wild life. Maui has 7 different micro climates all of which bring separate challenges from range to heat and everything in between.
Camp grounds are best secured 1 month in advance for the most desirable locations. we also have 2 spots on the south shore of the island we can recommend for free over night stays near the ocean. ( not a camp ground)
This camper is Not allowed to travel the back side of Maui;
the stretch of Hana highway between Kaupo and Ulupalakua is 100% off limits. You can absolutely still visit Hana and continue about seven miles beyond the national park campground at Kipahulu before you need to turn around. ULA is allowed to make one trip to the summit of Haleakalā per booking.
Please reach out to me with any question regarding the vehicle , accommodations or general concerns prior to hitting that book button .
sincerely
