Musty smell; could NOT even stay there!

We were very disappointed . There was a strong musty smell that greeted us as we opened the door. Right away I started to get congested and my throat was irritated. I called the owner and she suggested turning on the window units in addition to the three tower fans that were running. There was no change.

There was no way we could stay there. We had to scramble to find alternative lodging at the last minute and ended staying in a hotel which was over our budget. We received only a PARTIAL refund ( which was in a timely manner). Not happy. I would not recommend this unit unless there is something done to rectify this problem.

Owner's Response: We have been renting for 7 years and have never received a complaint like this. We work hard to provide a clean space and have it cleaned professionally weekly by a green cleaning company. We have wood floors, wooden furniture and leather furniture and a few carpets which are easily cleaned. For air quality we have 4 air conditioning units with air filters and several fans to move the air around. We replied right away to our customer as we knew it unsatisfactory and offered a 50% refund right away.

Charming property

The property was clean and well-maintained, large, and felt like home. Elizabeth and James are very nice and great hosts. Located in a very quiet residential neighborhood. I would stay there again.

Home away from home

I couldn't be more pleased with my family's time in Elizabeth's home! Elizabeth was the most gracious and attentive host--we had everything we needed to feel right at home in this space (and more!). We were walking distance to Maine Med, which is what brought us to Portland, but also all of the wonderful neighborhoods and restaurants throughout this lovely city. We hardly got in our car the whole week! I had to correspond with Elizabeth a few times to extend our stay and her responses were always within just a handful of minutes and super kind and accommodating. I enthusiastically recommend this home and am so glad we stayed here!

The perfect stay

I cannot say enough about how perfect our stay was. As 5 friends traveling to a wedding, it was an amazing alternative to multiple hotel rooms. Perfect location and more than enough space! 3 full bedrooms, spacious living area, kitchen and a full bath. Not to mention fully stocked with any household items we could need. We felt right at home and Elizabeth was so amazing throughout our time there. Not to mention the awesome outdoor space they had for us to utilize- we got in a great game of basketball with the neighbors kids and relaxed in all their fun chairs. I would highly recommend this adorable attic apartment to anyone! :)

Great Spot

Perfect spot to access all of Portland by foot. Especially close to Aurora Provisions which is a small market gem with everything you need. Owners are amazing, and our kids and friends loved the outdoor setup and area with a basketball net. Highly recommended.

Great location on Portland's West End

An excellent apartment within walking distance of many Portland attractions. Less than a 10 minute walk to many restaurants, under a mile to Commercial Street,... The layout is great for families, as two of the three bedrooms are down a hall with a door separating them, so you can host people while the kids sleep. Clean and modern, with a cool backyard and very nice owners. Highly recommended.
