About this property
American Alps Cabin-Beach, Riverfront, EV charger, 2B/1Ba, North Cascade, Diablo
Unwind and relax in this pup-friendly, cozy cabin, just 15 miles from the North Cascades National Park entrance! There are 2 bedrooms, one on the main floor and one upstairs, both with queen size beds. The home features an open concept living, dining, and kitchen area, newly renovated bathroom w/ walk-in shower, washer/dryer, Starlink internet, EV charger, and shared riverfront access a short walk through the woods! Just bring your suitcase and groceries, we'll provide the rest!
The space:
The American Alps Cabin is a newly renovated 1920's riverfront home that is only 15 minutes from the North Cascades National Park, 26 minutes from Diablo Lake, and 35 minutes from Ross Damn trailhead! It is located on several wooded acres with access to a sandy beach along the Skagit River, perfect for fishing, bird watching, or just peace and quiet!
The open concept main floor includes the living room, dining room, kitchen (no dishwasher, sorry), bathroom, laundry room, and 1 bedroom with a queen size bed. Upstairs you'll find a loft style bedroom (no door but still very private) with a queen size bed and a desk with various charging ports.
Outside you will find a covered front porch, gas BBQ, dining set, fenced area for pups to be off-leash, EV charger, and cozy firepit. Just a short walk through the woods leads you to the river's edge. There is a picnic table down there but this path is shared with the Lodge guests next door so please be aware you may meet other guests down there.
The home and property are stocked with everything you need for a truly comfortable stay from toiletries to kitchen necessities. Just bring your suitcase and groceries!
Guest access:
You will have access to the entire cabin and surrounding yard. The path to the river is around the fence and down the hill. Again, this path is shared with the log home across the driveway so you may have interaction with other guests while on the path or down at the riverfront.
Other things to note
This cabin is about as close as you can get to the entrance of the North Cascades National Park! However, it is located quite close to HWY 20 so you will encounter noise from traffic going by while outside. The home has brand new double paned windows so road noise inside the home is minimal.
The staircase leading up to the second bedroom is rather steep and has open steps (see in the photos). It is easy enough to go up the stairs but harder going down them because they are steep. This room is not recommended for small children or people who may have trouble with balance.
Marblemount is a quaint town. It has 2 restaurants, a hotel, post office, and 2 gas stations which both carry a wide range of necessities. It is the last town with services before heading over the pass. Concrete and Sedro Woolley are the next closest towns to Marblemount with actual grocery and hardware stores but the nearest Wal-Mart or big box store is in Mt. Vernon or Burlington, about 1 hour and 15 minutes west of Marblemount so it's best to plan your stops before getting all the way to Marblemount. Additionally, the restaurant hours vary depending on the season so please check with them directly if you plan to dine out. They are called Mondo's and The Upriver Taproom and Grill.
Finally, guests should know that HWY 20 closes seasonally through the pass. It depends on weather but usually closes mid-November and reopens between April-May depending on road conditions. Marblemount is only accessible from the west side of the Cascade Mountains during the winter and 4-wheel drive is recommended to access the home if/when there is snow. Feel free to message the host to inquire about snow.
