This is a great location for people who want to be out of the hustle and bustle of Honolulu & Waikiki. The studio had pretty much everything that we needed. The only small disappointment with the property is that every unit has a bright light at its front door. It cannot be turned off. It lights up the apartment at night. Would be nice if the windows surrounding the door had some type of black-out curtains. Also, be sure to get the lock box code before you arrive. We had a little difficulty getting that info. The host did not tell us ahead of time that we had to pay a 100 cash deposit (returnable) for the parking pass. It wasn’t a big deal but would have been nice to know ahead of time. Would definitely stay there again. Mahalo

wonderful, relaxing stay

Our time at Makaha Valley Towers was relaxing and comfortable. We enjoyed the pool, the beautiful surroundings, and the beaches just a short way away. We would come back anytime!

Amazing accommodations, best kept secret on the west side.

Every time we come to Oahu, we always reach out to Robert and stay in one of his condos at Makaha towers. His units are clean, and equipped with all the living essentials. We love the view from the balcony and the serene atmosphere. We cannot wait to go back and stay at the towers again. Thank you for accommodating us all the time.

Amazing month-long stay

Absolutely lovely and spacious studio. Very clean and well-equipped with everything you need in the kitchen and for the beach. Great pool and grill area. I loved working from home here with the beautiful view. Wonderful owner to communicate with. The location, of both the unit within the towers and the towers themselves, could not be better. I can't wait to come back.

No Place Like Paradise

It was truly a lovely stay. The condo/room has a breath-taking view of gorgeous mountains and beaches/ocean. I could have stayed in all day and been happy. For a truly "local" experience, there isn't a better place to stay. The close markets and restaurants are nothing like the "Waikiki Tourist Trap." Save your money and enjoy "real Hawaii!"

Spectacular!!

Beautiful property!! We were very happy and enjoyed our stay. The condo was plenty of space for the two of us. Enjoyed breakfast out on the lanai every morning. The view is absolutely breathtaking with the mountains and ocean. The sunsets were also pretty spectacular. The condo had everything we needed to cook. Especially loved access to the barbecue and all the beach accessories. Would definitely stay again. Thanks Bob and Peggy for use of your wonderful space!

Beautiful view

This condo was beautiful and Bob was extremely helpful and kind. We chose this location mostly on price but it was very nice. I was worried about the murphy bed but it was comfortable. The location is about 20 mile up the shore from the Disney resort in Oalina so it added some travel time to everywhere we went. This was not a problem until we were on the way to the airport to go home. The traffic can get pretty bad between 6-9am. We saw most of the island while we were there and had a wonderful time. We thought we would save money by not eating out, but groceries are also pricey, so be prepared for that. Bob sent us information about the area but we left it at home. I would suggest putting that info in a binder with things like laundry, outdoor closet, and how to find Wi-Fi, and where to see the turtles, and leave it in the apartment so it is available for all the guests. The view from the lanai was awesome on the 10th floor you could see the mountains and the ocean. We were not disappointed.

Mark had many questions before booking our condo. He wanted our one bedroom condo (#454261) but it was not available. He was not sure the Murphy bed would be comfortable, but agreed after a couple of nights that the bed was fine. The view from the spacious lanai is awesome, truly difficult to describe. Traffic is bothersome at times on H-1, but staying at Makaha Valley Towers is worth a few delays. Thank you, Mark, for the nice review.

Lovely condo with outstanding views

We loved the condo it was just right for us, quiet, clean and comfortable with a view of the ocean and surrounding mountains that would make a great postcard. Our host Bob popped in to say hi and see if we needed anything, a true gentleman. Thanks Bob and Peggy we will return and book unit 1001 again someday Pete and Julie

Very clean, amazing view, Ac worked amazing

Tub didnt drain well and shower head needs to be replaced but thats not that big of a deal for the price. We would stay here again.

The location of Makaha on the Waianae coast seems remote for those who like the crowds at Waikiki, but the secret is that it really is peaceful and quiet in the beautiful valley. If one wants to take a ocassional drive around the island it is available. Thank you for the kind words. Come aim soon.

Extremely dated, original unit that needs work and is dysfunctional.

This unit is very dated (mostly original) and is dysfunctional. The bathroom needs lots of work, there are ant traps all over the unit interior, it is extremely difficult to wash dishes in the very tiny double sink and the bright light shines in from the exterior light at night and from the floor to ceiling windows in the early a.m., due to no room darkening blinds on the windows. The a/c ducts also need vacuming/cleaning. We would NOT rent this unit again.

Aloha Christine: Thank you for being our guest in our studio condo. We are sorry you were not pleased with the condo. We were surprised that you thought the condo was dated. It was completely remodeled a few years ago after water leaked down from above and damaged the kitchen and bathroom the walls. There is nothing left that was original except the tub and shower. The sink is small because it is in a studio. We assume our guests will use the dish washer. You mentioned ant traps. Actually we place 8 ant traps and 8 water bug traps in the living room, kitchen and bath areas because Hawaii has bugs and we do not want them in our condo. The wall-to-ceiling drapes should keep the light out. We recommend to our guests that they close them at night. We have received excellent reviews, but will take you comments into consideration. Amazing view from the balcony!

First we 'avoided' these Makaha Towers, when searching for the accomodation for our holiday. We were so glad we booked this! We really enjoyed our stay at this beautifully decorated apartment. It felt very cozy. There was evetything you needed. There is a good BBQ place beside the pool as well, which we used almost every day! View from the balcony is amazing! The place is quiet and clean. Really nice beach is only 20 min walk down the street (or 2 min by car). The hosts were very helpful and easy to contact. We would defenitely stay there again!
