About alessandra santarelli
As an experienced traveller, I know how important it is to be right in the heart of the action, yet away from the hustle and bustle of a big city, when one is sightseeing. It is with this spirit that I have decided to rent these rooms. I have stayed in 5 stars hotels in Asia and in huts with no electricity in Africa, and I loved both experiences. I know one always needs a refuge, somewhere to rest one's feet and put one's thoughts together after having seen a lot of new places and people. This is what I am hoping to offer! I have traveled extensively and have chosen Rome as my home base because you can only fall in love with it. You'll see!
Why alessandra santarelli chose Rione V Ponte
My family has lived in this area for generations. It is my favorite part of the city, still authentic, yet near everything. I'd be tempted to say it has maintained its Roman soul!
What makes this Apartment unique
I have tried to decorate the apartment with elegance and sobriety. I do not like other people's taste imposed on me when I travel so I have kept the decor simple and neutral. The great advantage of this room, which is in an apartment with two other rooms, each one rented out separately, is primarily its location. Situated in my absolute favorite part of Rome, it is near all the sites you will want to visit and you will be able to walk to most places, yet is it a quiet street where everyone knows each other and there is a real sense of community here. When in Rome, do as the Romans do!

Great location, tastefully laid out, nicely appointed
Alessandra was also very helpful with restaurant and other suggestions. The area has more local artisans than tourist so can be a bit noisy at night. Initial impression was that the rooms were pretty stark (by design) but it sounds as though she is starting to add a few touches that will soften this.
The apartment was centrally located to the historic sites we wanted to visit. Allesandra, who speaks excellent English (very helpful for us), was wonderfully welcoming, and provided us with an excellent map, marking the location of sites we wanted to visit, and gave recommendations for several local restaurants - and she arranged a taxi for our early morning ride to the airport. We stayed in room 2, which is a little tight, with limited space for our two suitcases and us, and which has a smaller, more simple bathroom than the one shown in the photos. All in all, a wonderful place for our four-day stay in Roma.
Perfect location in Rome, you can walk anywhere weather permitting or easily take a taxi. Numerous cafes and restaurants are nearby. The apartment was very clean and Alessandra is so helpful and extremely nice. I would rate it at 5 stars but the wifi is pretty much non-existent and there were two days that the power was off during the day. Luckily you're not at the apartment during the day but it could have been problematic. I would recommend a small fridge during the summer so you could keep water since Rome is so hot! I would recommend this apartment to anyone staying in Rome, it is a bargain for sure.
Perfect for a stay in Roma
Très bel appartement en plein centre de Rome, calme et bien entretenu. L'accueil a été parfait, nous avons passé un excellent séjour et nous espérons y revenir très vite !
a charming flat, in the heart of Roma, in a calm street and perfectly clean. The host was very welcoming and helpful. We spend an excellent stay there and we hope to go back there very soon!
We stayed here for 3 nights and simply loved it. Super clean room with modern taste, charming and quiet neighborhood that is close to everything, and just a wonderful wonderful owner. During our stay, we didn't have to take a public transportation at all. We were able to walk everywhere.. The Vetican, pantheon, spanish steps, colosseum..etc.
I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Rome.
Excellent stay close to everything!
Warm welcome of Alessandra who speaks at least French, English and of course Italian and who gave us a really good start!! The appartment is ideally placed, close to everything you need: markets, yummy restaurants, organic stores, and also close to Roma's main sights. We pretty much did everything by walking...the room was clean and quiet, the kitchen and living room were well equipped and convenient.. only one thing could be improved: more privacy wrt neighbours in the bathroom.
Right in the heart of the historic center, you'll be at a walking distance from Piazza Navona, Campo de' Fiori, the Pantheon, Castel Sant'Angelo and the Vatican, and not far from the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, the Roman Forum and the Colosseum. The apartment is Located in what is historically a street of artisans' workshop, these days mixed up with trendy boutiques, cool local bars and fashionable restaurants. My family and I lived in this area for generations and I have followed its slow transformation. The apartment is located is what is called 'Rione Parione', right in the historic center of Rome. It is my favorite area of the city because in spite it being in the heart of the 'action', walking distance from most of the main tourists sites, the street is quiet and has maintained its original character. There are still many artisans' workshops and although there are many (and undoubtedly welcome) changes, such as trendy boutiques and fashionable restaurants, the wine bar down the road hasn't changed for the last thirty years and although it is now a sort of local institution it still is understandably cool. I believe that what makes this property special is mainly its location. It is a very special area, where people know each other and have a sense of community. Here you can really 'do as the Romans do', as they say, and it is not easy to find this sort of situation in a city that mainly lives on tourism! As for the interior, I have tried to make it elegant, sober, comfortable and functional. I have just finished refurbishing it so everything is brand new!
