About this property

Bay Cottage- Coastal charmer with screened-in porch, grill, & AC

Experience the charm of coastal Maine at Bay Cottage, a welcoming retreat perfectly situated within walking distance of downtown Boothbay Harbor. Cross the iconic footbridge to discover the bustling waterfront, local boutiques, fresh seafood restaurants, and picturesque harbor filled with boats. In the opposite direction, enjoy a leisurely stroll to Barrett's Park, where you can take in beautiful ocean views or enjoy a refreshing swim along the shoreline.

The cottage also serves as an ideal home base for exploring the region's most beloved attractions. Spend the day wandering the spectacular Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, featuring over 300 acres of stunning gardens and walking trails, or take a scenic drive to Wiscasset, affectionately known as "The Prettiest Village in Maine," where historic architecture, charming cafés, and views of the Sheepscot River await.

After a day of adventure, return to Bay Cottage and relax on the inviting screened-in porch, where cool coastal breezes create the perfect setting for morning coffee or evening cocktails. Inside, warm wood finishes and comfortable furnishings provide a cozy atmosphere, while the decorative stone fireplace adds classic New England character. Settle in to stream your favorite movies or simply enjoy quality time together.

The thoughtfully designed kitchen features stainless steel appliances, a farmhouse sink, generous counter space, and everything needed to prepare delicious meals. Gather around the spacious farmhouse dining table to share dinner, plan the next day's adventures, or enjoy a family game night.

Comfortable, light-filled bedrooms and charming tiled bathrooms provide a peaceful place to unwind, while central air conditioning and a private washer and dryer add everyday convenience throughout your stay.

As evening falls, the screened porch comes alive with twinkling string lights, creating a magical setting for outdoor dining. Fire up the gas grill for a fresh Maine seafood feast, then gather around the backyard firepit to roast marshmallows and enjoy the peaceful sounds of the coast beneath the stars.

Perfect location for family vacation

Loved the location, walkable to everywhere, local lobster market near by, purchased lobster and cooked ourselves one evening. Loved the screened in porch and short walk to the footbridge. Boothbay was as we hoped for. Enough to do and relaxing at the same time. Locals were friendly and helpful!!

Amazingly Cozy Home Close to Town.

This was a perfect sized cottage for a group of 6 adults and 1 child with very comfortable beds. There was plenty of space for all needs—sleep, visiting, meals. The patio was amazing for morning coffees. Everything was perfect, especially with Downtown and the harbor a sort 5 min walk down the hill.

It was clean, updated, and had helpful amenities. It was relaxed, comfortable, and well-built. The owners appeared to have the best interest in our having a comfortable and positive stay. The lock for the main entrance was a little bit tricky but having the actual key available was very helpful. Also, I was concerned that the barbecue grill was in the enclosed porch. We moved it down the stairs and outside to grill. I think you could clarify the best and safest way to use the grill.

Great little rental but disappointing service

The cottage was great. Newly remodeled, clean, comfortable, and the bed/bedroom configuration suited our group. Unfortunately the dishwasher was broken and they were unable to fix it during our stay. Dirty dishes from the previous guests remained inside and, despite several requests, no one came to clean them.
