Devon was a great host! So responsive and helpful while navigating our travel and reservations. The location was perfect for us, central to everything. We even ended up extending our stay bc we loved the property!

Comfy, Cozy, Country CottageHard to believe we are the first to review this piece of quiet country heaven!! As we walked through the door of this gem we were greeted by fresh cut flowers!! This nicely furnished home was one that truly made you feel at home with its mix of retro/antique furnishings that would remind you of simpler times!! As we put our phones down and found our way to the front porch for a sip of coffee and to watch the birds and squirrels play it was absolutely relaxing! The newly renovated master bathroom was more than fancy hotel worthy mention! So if your looking for a tranquil place to stay off the beaten path stay here, you will be glad you did!!

Showed up at the property and could not get in. Host did not respond to message from me or repeated calls from both me and VBRO. Host's husband (not name on property) only called after I got my refund after standing outside for an hour in 90 degree heat. Host's husband informed me that they were on vacation which is why they did not answer the phone and also complained about having issues with VBRO. When I informed them that if they had answered the phone in the first place there would not have been an issue. They responded that they would not be lectured by anyone and perhaps I would be better served by staying in hotels.I will never repeat, never do business with whomever owns this house.

I take full responsibility for this issue and have provided you an apology over the phone and in Vrbo messaging. With over 20 successful check-ins, this was my first failed check-in as a host. I'm sorry it happened to you. I left my phone in the car for over an hour while tending to family while out of town. If I'd had my phone with me, the issue would've been remedied immediately. My husband called you as soon as I saw the missed calls (while having the call on speaker with me present) as to not delay contact, which was not connected to the timing of your cancellation. He called while I was trying to log into Vrbo to see which code had been sent to you (automatic check-in messaging). I'd set a random door code in case of a last-minute booking while I was out of town and updated your welcome instructions with the code when your last-minute booking came in. I removed the default information about the door code corresponding to the guest's phone number. I've since learned from Vrbo that the host cannot see the check-in messages once sent to the guest, which makes the issue difficult to troubleshoot as to why the correct code wasn't sent. My husband only mentioned a hotel due to the 24/7 staffing available. This was a human error, and I take responsibility for it. I'm glad Vrbo was able to fully refund your fees, as there was no ill intent from the host. I understand your frustration of not being able to enter the home, but your explicit language on the call was not appreciated.
