About the host
Hosted by Joanna
I'm an Atlanta native but I have lived in NYC, LA, Chicago, London, and now I'm back home. My, how Atlanta has changed...for the better! For me, it ranks right up there with other major cities, and I'm thrilled to be back in this vibrant melting pot of folks from all over the world. I'm a creative type- a vegetarian who loves animals, music, art, and entertaining! I look forward to welcoming you to Poncey- Highland; an intown community just steps from the Atlanta Beltline and all that this treasured city has to offer!
Why they chose this property
I love the proximity to downtown/ midtown Atlanta, all major freeways and transit, the Carter Presidential Library and Gardens, shops, and restaurants within an easy walking distance, the availability of bikes, e-bikes and scooters, and the endless miles of walking/jogging/biking trails in our backyard. The Atlanta Beltline, just 3 blocks away is a massive 22-mile multi-use trail and urban redevelopment program built on abandoned railway corridors that encircles the core of Atlanta. It connects 45 neighborhoods through paved walking and biking paths, public art installations, parks, and dining hubs!
At the top of my "why I love living here" list has to be the people- many unique types of neighbors, celebrating our differences with open minds and hearts, and finding common ground in our shared humanity. I truly believe Poncey-Highland is a place where everyone can feel at home and welcomed. Come stay with us and see if you feel the same!
What makes this property unique
The Atlanta Intown Hideaway is just that- a serene private retreat in a beautiful neighborhood, surrounded by mature trees and wildlife, yet moments away from the hustle of the city. It's the place where you get to have it all- the comforts of a safe neighborhood, with the vibrancy of the city's energy right outside your door. This is a fully private spot, which backs up to a beautiful park, yet sits at the intersection of all you could want in our city; Ponce City Market is 3 blocks away, the Atlanta Beltline, the Clermont Lounge and Rooftop, Manuels Tavern, Madeira Park Wine Bar, Monks Meadery, Urban Outfitters...we have an historic movie theatre that plays classics and indie new releases (and weekend late night Rocky Horror) called The Plaza Theatre, we are near a TraderJoe's and Whole Foods, Home Depot, a presidential library, The Fox Theatre, Woodruff Arts Center, Mercedes Benz, and so much more, easily accessible from this property. The beauty is, you can ignore it all if you choose to, and instead, spend time in the backyard sleeping in the hammock, or at a picnic in the park with the chipmunks, barred owls, squirrels, opossums, and many different types of birds.
