Detta är en värd egendom.
Nybyggd 700 kvadratfot fristående livsrum i en privat, separat flygel av huset. Sovrummet och vardagsrum är fyllda med ljus, ser ut till vackra vyer över de tre bergen - Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa och Hualalai. Njut av fullt utrustat kök, matplats, mysig läsning vrå i vardagsrummet, rymligt sovrum med klädkammare, helt nytt badrum med duschkabin, trådlöst internet och direkta tv (filmer, TV-program och musikkanaler).

Den teak bänk framför stugan är en perfekt plats att sitta och titta på molnen spela över Mauna Kea. Ut bakvägen utanför köket, finns det en ny gasolgrill och bord och stolar för att äta middag eller njuta av solnedgångar och de ljusa stjärnklara nätter. Det finns också en lagrings kista full av solstolar, boogie styrelser och snorklar redskap för din användning.

Vår 3-tunnland Fastigheten har ett stort hus vi nyligen ombyggda till att omfatta gäststuga i ena änden av huset. Min man och jag bor i en separat flygel i den andra änden av vår L-formad hem. De två livsrum skiljs åt av en täckt Lanai med hjälp av staket och landskapsarkitektur ger avskildhet för varje bostad.

Vi respekterar vår guests' integritet och njuta av vår egen. Vi är också glada att svara på frågor som du kan ha för att hjälpa dig njuta av din vistelse på ön. Vi kommer gärna att styra dig till vår favorit restauranger, stränder, vandringsleder och äventyr på ön.

Vi njuter av trädgårdsarbete och har planterat fruktträd, vissa grönsaker och örter och många blommor. Du är välkommen att dela frukt och grönsaker som är mogna under din vistelse - vi har ofta bananer, lilikoʻi, mango eller papaya och färska örter.

Belägen på "torra sidan" av Waimea, är vi halvvägs mellan Kawaihae och Waimea stad, tio minuters bilfärd från både. De bästa stränderna på ön är 10-15 minuter bort.

Beläget vid 1800 fot höjd, våra dagar är soliga och varma. Temperaturer svalna på kvällen - perfekt för en god natts sömn. Kardinaler, duvor, finkar och andra fåglar fylla våra tysta 3-acre fastighet med sång.

Awesome Place!

We stayed here for a week and really loved the place! Beautiful sunrise and sunset always filled with all kinds of different birds chattering. Highly recommend!

Peaceful retreat

This property is very comfortable and classy. It is as cute as the photos. With plenty of towels, closet space, kitchen accessories, a book nook and even a work space it checks all the boxes. It was sparkling clean and the hostess was very gracious. Stay here. You will not be disappointed.

Beautiful, peaceful, close to beaches and town.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Catrinka and John's. We've stayed in alot of vacation rentals. This was the sweetest. Comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen, very clean, quiet peaceful, close to town and beaches. And the nicest part was Catrinka, gave us lots of privacy but always quick to respond if we needed her. We'd absolutely go back there.

Cute house near yummy local spots!

We enjoyed our stay at this cute bungalow. Bed was comfy, loved the reading book and full length mirror in the closest and the views were spectacular and we enjoyed the location! It was close to the beaches and resorts as well as the yummy food places and farmers markets in town. Rental car would be a must though! Only downside is no pool but Spencer Park beach is super close and there’s a smaller more secluded beach next to it through the wooded area that’s awesome and not crowded.

Quiet desert hilltop

This was a perfect place for our 5 night stay. It was actually even better than my husband and I imagined. Sitting on a windy hilltop, it was secluded and on a private road, but still easy to find. The property was beautiful and the home was cozy and filled with literally anything we could need! This tiny home was an amazing Kona stay and we would certainly come back any time.

Live Aloha

This space is thoughtfully designed with a layout perfect for relaxed holidays. A cozy reading nook that's so inviting, a gas grill with side burner, and a rice cooker. Grab some fresh catch fish from nearby Kawaihae and make your dinner and head to Spenser park for sunset. Catrinka is a fabulous host and spreads Aloha to her guests.

Best Value in Waimea

Catrinka's home was a perfect way to experience the north side of the island. It's centrally located with STUNNING views and plenty of space. There was virtually zero traffic around, allowing you to move freely to different locations/activities. Catrinka was very helpful and communicative through the entire check-in and stay. The house was loaded with amenities and accurately described. I would 100% recommend staying here and look forward to visiting again soon! Thank you Catrinka!

Mauna Kea Moonrise

Catrinka's property is perfectly situated between Waimea and coastal beaches in a really serene and beautiful area. Gorgeous view of Mauna Kea from the huge picture windows of the living room and bedroom. You have total privacy but Catrinka lives on the property and is very responsive to any inquiry or need. Judging by the guestbook, this is a place visitors often choose to return to, and I can understand why. 5 stars!

Birds, views and comfort

The photos of this wonderful guest house don’t do it justice. Sometimes when traveling one compromises a bit of comfort for a great location. Not such compromise here! The house was comfortable with everything you need to feel at home. The location was breathtaking with ever changing views of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa and the birds were amazing. Katrinka was warm and welcoming… and if she offers you homemade cookies say yes!

Tranquil on the Island

We highly recommend Catrinka’s VRBO! We have visited the Big Island of Hawaii several times and we absolutely appreciate the quiet location with vistas of all three mountains from the living room. We value quality, cleanliness, and a feeling of home. You will not be disappointed if you seek the calm nature of Waikoloa! We will return as this is our place of rejuvenation! Catrinka is GREAT to work with and responsive. A gem away from the busy resorts! (Kitchen is well stocked! I challenge anyone to not find what they need!). Mahalo for a magical experience!

The best!

Catrinka is a wonderful and accommodating host. She went the extra mile or two when I needed some help on a matter. We love this area - cool nights for sleeping and awesome views of Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa and Hulalai. You cannot imagine! There are also a nice variety of bird species if you're into that type of thing. We aren't in love with resorts so this is our type of spot. Clean, bright and cheerful. We will be back! Absolutely Great

This is better than 5 star! The location is ideal for exploring the northern part of the island of Hawaii. The property is in an ideal location, about a 10 minute drive to Waimea and a 10 minute drive to a great beach. Waimea has all the services you will need. It also has many fine places to eat. This property is located at an elevation which provides warm days and cools nights. The view from the property is great. Sitting in the living area you can see three mountains in all their glory. The property is clean, comfortable and well maintained. But what really makes this property a 5 star plus is the host. Catrinka is warm and gracious. When you arrive, and throughout your stay, you feel as a welcome guest. She knows how to ensure your experience in her rental unit is purely pleasant.

Perfect place to explore north part of the Big Island

We stayed at Catrinka's rental for 4 nights during our recent trip to BI. We stayed there after visiting south Kona and Volcano national park, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. The property is well maintained. It has a large size bedroom with king bed and a walk-in closet, living room with nice wooden chairs, a laundry unit, as well as a nice equipped kitchen. Both living room and bedroom have super size windows that give tremendous views to Mauna Kea, and Mauna Loa mountains. The location is perfect for us. 10 minutes to Waimea where you can buy groceries, and enjoy local resturants. Less than 30 minutes drive to white sandy beaches and a few shopping centers north of Kona. About an hour drive to Hilo, Waipio Valley, and Pololu Valley lookouts. And don't forget the weekend farmers markets in Waimea. The property is very close to the route 19, but is super quiet. We especially loved to gaze at the stars at nights, it was just so peaceful. Catrinka is the perfect host. Super friendly yet not intrusive at all. She put a lot of personal touches on the property, and truly make it a home away from home.

Waimea perfection

What a great Big Island choice! This is a stunning property in a wonderful location. Though the unit is attached to the owner’s home, you’d never know it. It has its own level-in entrance and separate parking area, is completely quiet, and it actually feels like a separate cottage. It is beautifully and comfortably furnished, has an unbelievable number of amenities (even down to a yoga mat!) and the kitchen offers meal supplies like oatmeal, packaged noodles, brown rice, and a drawer full of spices. There is a wide array of small kitchen appliances, pots and pans, and utensils—though a small hot plate replaces a range with cooktop. The home is in a private community with widely spaced residences and large and well-tended properties. Best of all, the view over the scenic uplands and toward Maura Kea is stupendous! If you only want to stay at one place on the island, Waimea is a great choice—not only are the surroundings beautiful, but it offers a wealth of restaurants, is at a refreshingly cool elevation, is about equidistant to both Hilo and Kailua-Kona for exploring, AND it’s only a ten to fifteen minute drive to one of the best beaches on the island! Along with a welcoming and friendly owner, what more could you want?

Excellent location, and more

The location is primo: slightly west of Waimea town, so easy 12 minutes to the beach and providing a lovely climate. The property itself is well maintained and all comforts are provided at the rental. Catrinka is a wonderful, generous and informative host. The quiet of the place is fabulous, as is the view. Two thumbs up.

Practically perfect Big Island accommodation!

The property exudes peace and tranquility in a cozy, yet expansive setting. The ‘neighborhood’ is as perfect as they get, with each of the houses occupying at least 3 acres, individually. Perfect view of Mauna Kea. Unpolluted night skies, on cloudless nights for glimpsing the vastness of our universe… up close and personal. The bed was quite comfortable. Only one disappointment: just a single burner hot plate for cooking. Catrinka is a gracious and considerate host.

Perfect and Peaceful!

It was lovely to wake each morning to birdsong and pastoral views. Perfect for people like us who don't crave crowds. We were close enough to beaches, botanical gardens, farmers markets, historical sights, and amenities that we could easily have our fill of adventures and yet still have a quiet oasis to retreat to. We felt instantly at home! When our home fins didn't fit into our carry on luggage, we prepared ourselves to rent and return fins somewhere on the Big Island. It was a happy surprise to discover that fins and other gear were waiting for us in the storage bin out the back door. And the shelves of books was another delight! There were books for both leisure reading and for learning about learning about Hawaii. It was wonderful to dive into the Hawaiian books to debrief after each day and to tune into the next day's possibilities. As other people have mentioned, the kitchen does not contain a full range, but we found all that we needed and more. And it is easy to see why the place is so comfortable and peaceful; Catrinka is a wonderful host. Always ready and responsive, but never intrusive. For us, it was the perfect place to be! Mahalo nui Catrinka for the wonderful experience!

Gorgeous views

Our stay at Catrinka’s hale was stunning. Every morning I couldn’t believe the breeze coming through, and the views and sounds of nature out every window. It’s a quick drive to Waimea coffee company or Hapuna beach! There were many useful odds and ends as far as kitchen, toiletry, and beach items. Tape and scissors! We swapped pillows for the ones in the closet that were more like ours at home. Any time I needed something I was able to find it, if I wasn’t I knew Catrinka was a phone call away. Would love to stay again!

Homey and convenient

Loved that this property had absolutely everything you could want to have a very homey experience. We bought some groceries but the kitchen was very well stocked with condiments, oil, jam, cooking tools, etc. We also loved the various living spaces and the beach gear! Would definitely be great for travelers on a budget who want to cook all their meals and do some hiking or exploring on the north side of the island or in Waimea.

Catrinka thought of everything in preparing her home for guests. Well-stocked with quality supplies, well laid out for convenience, beautifully landscaped with a superb view of Mauna Kea, we couldn't have enjoyed it more!!

We love the quick and easy access to both town and beach. This is our favorite climate zone with warm sunny days and cooler nights. We looked for five years to find just the right place - 3 acres on a quiet street with expansive views out to three mountains, and space and sun to grow mangos, papayas, bananas, avocados and lilikoʻi. We love the community of Waimea and the great snorkeling beaches just down the road.
