About Owner Charlie

Call me anytime, we built the 'Shack' new in 2005. My grandparents are from the area and I knew the beauty that was there in the salt marshes and waterways.

Owner Charlie purchased this house in 2005

Why Owner Charlie chose Lawrence Township

Cause it's beautiful, and different. Alive with migrating birds, Red Knots, Snow geese, and other wildlife, otters, muskrats, Bald eagles, I've seen a Golden eagle there.

What makes this house unique

Has docks for your boat, boats including PWC ride on docks. Contact me if you want to bring your boats and skis.

Great 'Hideout'

For those who prefer a quiet, relaxing get-away!

  • 5 of 5

If you prefer a get-away that REALLY lets you get away from it all, then this is the place for you. Gorgeous scenery and it's all yours! Home is very well appointed with all you need. Clean and well taken care of. And the upstairs Bedroom and viewing area at the top of this house is unbelievable. We became very interested in the cargo ships you can see on the Delaware making their way to Philadelphia's Port. We downloaded an app that gave us real time information on the freighters and then we went to the top floor to view them through the binoculars. It was very interesting. A great place for you and your family to reconnect - unplug from technology and enjoy the incredible nature around you. It will stick with you long after and you'll want to come back for more.

We were not sure what to expect not ever being in that area before... but it was beautiful, off the beaten path, really like your own little island. The house was great, very clean, and plenty of room for all of us! I highly recommend walking around the beaches under the houses when it is low tide... you can walk around the whole peninsula at low tide. Lots of shells, treasures, and sea glass! The deck was perfect for a dance party and the sun sets were gorgeous! We will definitely be back! Oh, and stop down at Dino's and as to talk to Jimmy about the area!

Very nice area.

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our short trip to Bay Point, very nice area and more remote than expected for New Jersey. Water was deep enough even in low tide for our boat which was a treat as we are used to the very shallow waters of the Chesapeake! The house has a nice bedroom on the second floor and we enjoyed looking through the telescope at the awesome view from the third floor.

Beautiful vacation house overlooking Cedar Creek near Delaware River.

  • 4 of 5

Enjoyed sunrise and sunset on the deck. Huge master bedroom on the second floor. Spacious deck allowed everyone to have our meals and take in the scenery. Caught a dozen blue crabs every day for scrumptious snacks and our son caught plenty of perch and croakers for dinner. View from the top floor outlook gives a panoramic picture of the area. Could use wifi, but hey, we are here to relax for the week. Looking to come back in the future.

Beautiful views of wildlife

  • 4 of 5

My family and I stayed at the Knapp Shack for the 4th of July weekend. The house is beautiful and large enough to accommodate all of us comfortable. The back deck is the perfect place for meals and just relaxing. We saw an eagle and lots of turtle. Fishing was great right off the dock!!! The house had everything we needed to cook meals as well as entertainment. Great location and close to town when we needed supplies. You will need to bring your own pillow cases and linens as its not supplied with the house. Also, be aware of the huge biting flies where you park your car. The flies are not a problem in the back of the house but getting inside the house from the front was a bit scary with them swarming the car. Overview we had a wonderful time and have lots of memories of our holiday. The owner Charlie was very responsive and a pleasure to deal with. You will have an amazing time at the Knapp shack!!

Natures getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the "shack"! Very peaceful and secluded and the owner, Charlie, was very helpful and accommodating! If possible you should attempt to bring some sort of watercraft for fishing or other recreational purposes as the green head flies can be a little pesky close to shore at certain times of the day. Overall it was a fantastic getaway! I would definitely rent from this owner again!
