Vacations are about choice, and if you choose quiet comfort, a beautiful ocean front setting with an expansive soft sand beach meeting gentle warm waters look no farther. You come to Hawaii to enjoy the beaches, stay on an excellent one, Sugar Beach. Separated from the crowded city-front beaches our beach offers many miles of soft sand for children to play on, walkers to walk or jog on and strollers to stroll on. Our property enjoys beach front Barbecues with tables and chairs for day and evening enjoyment; nature provides glorious sunset dinners as everyone looks for the 'green flash.' Warm days invite you to choose between reading or napping under the palm trees and umbrellas, taking a dip in the warm ocean or heated pool or walking over to the farmer's market to select fresh island foods. The shave-ice store is also a favorite, this is not your father's snow cone.

High Season Rate $180/night: December 15 - April 15 + Hawaii tax

Our fully remodeled fifth-floor suite enhances your stay with whisper quiet central air conditioning (yes, in the bedroom too), comfortable living room with two leather recliners, a 37'' flat screen with full HDTV reception with Blue Ray DVD, a fully equipped granite counter kitchen, a sleep inducing King bed, two step-in tile shower baths (yes, two bath rooms) and a unique dual-pane Lanai slider if you choose to block out the sound of rolling waves. Beach towels, chairs and coolers provided, 32'' full HDTV reception in the bedroom, secure key-less entry with your pre-selected private entry code (all guest codes are removed when guests leave), laundry facilities just steps away, manicured grounds, free parking, free cleaning, free wireless internet and a central island location for activities such as golfing, fine dining, scuba and snorkeling, visits to Lahaina, Kaanapali, Iao Valley, Wailea, Paia, Hana, Haleakaia and more. We are most comfortable for two in King bed comfort; honeymooners, retired couples and all those seeking quiet.

About Donald

My wife, Linda, and I have traveled the world, and continue to do so, the photo was taken near the entrance to Monet Gardens in France, just outside of Paris. We discovered our Maui Sugar Beach location on one of our travels and fell in love with the unique property, purchasing our unit sight unseen by internet & mail once we returned home. We continue to upgrade our island home and our efforts have resulted in a 'Deluxe' rating and one of the highest booking calendars of the Nani Kai Hale! We know Maui!

Why Donald chose Kihei

After attending several 'wine & cheese' time share presentations for properties that were 'near the beach' we discovered our 'right on the beach' property with permanent owners and fell in love with the warm sharing and gatherings that occur daily around the beachfront barbeque area. With six miles of soft sand beach to stroll along with lawn & fresh water pool there is much to enjoy! The 'Nani' experience is truely unique.

What makes this condo unique

With only 46 units our property enjoys a special 'bonding' of guests & owners alike, some guests have been returning for 20 to 30 years because they feel 'at home' when they gather around the lawn and barbeque area for the many spontaneous sharings of food and stories daily. The protected cove provides a safe water and beach environment that is a magnet for children of all ages, our central Maui location is the perfect jumping off spot!

We really enjoyed Maui not only because of the beauty and the plenitude of the island, but also because we were housed at the right place.

Donald and Linda have thought of every detail to ensure a perfect vacation.

Friendly hosts provided us with and honest look at their property on-line and then provided us with information to enrich our visit to Maui before we left home

2) A clean and well-appointed interior the moment we entered our personal code in the keyless entry;

3) A personal greeting letter and “starter gifts” like cold water in the refrigerator and condiments in the cupboards, a coffee maker plus a variety of kitchen utensils to make you feel “at home;”

4) amenities such as real air conditioning, WiFi, HD TV’s, ocean view lanai for private relaxing, and a super comfortable King bed; and two bathrooms;

5) a central location to explore all of Maui, a beachfront with barbecue center, expansive lawn with chaises, umbrellas and palm trees, a heated pool, and warm calm water with miles of soft sand for walking.

*A wide variety of information regarding activities, food, shopping, and points of interest: a virtual, “who, what, where and where not,” in an attempt to insure each guest is armed with enough “inside information” to enrich their brief stay.

Quiet relaxation in abundance starts in our air-conditioned accommodations and extends to our relaxing lawn and gentle beach. There is a 'Farmer's Market' within walking distance, but you are away from the hustle and bustle of the busy downtown. Take a long walk on quiet Sugar Beach, swim in the heated pool, or take a nap in a chaise lounge on the lawn. Gas grills, tables and chairs ocean front, palm trees and umbrellas shade you from the sun. The gentle beach leads you into warm (normally 80F) water on most days.

wonderful ocean sounds to fall asleep to

We lived on Maui for 8 years and our home is being occupied by our tenants so needed to find a place to stay for our 8 day visit in

April. We wanted a place to stay that had all the luxuries of fully stocked home. The condo was beautifully decorated with 2 full baths, a large master bedroom with a very comfortable king bed and a window that we kept open so we could hear the beautiful sounds of the pacific as we fell asleep. We never once had to turn on the AC since the afternoon trade winds kept the place cool and comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked with every imaginable item you might need to have to make a holiday meal. It was also complete with beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers and beach towels. There was more than enough storage for clothes, shoes, and any other items you bring. Living room had a large tv as well as one in the bedroom. Laundry facilities were on our floor as well as a garbage shoot to make everything convenient and stress free. We look forward to staying at this wonderful place again in the furture. Donald was so friendly and made sure our stay went smoothly and we had everything we needed. Thanks again for allowing us to stay in your wonderful condo located on Sugar Beach. Mahalo

Love. love. love our unit view exceptional, comfort tops, beach extraordinary!

The owners go out of their way to provide valuable updated information on restaurants, activities that are available and keep the unit immaculate and updated.

Great Place to Stay!

Overall staying at this location made our entire trip! This was our first time to Maui and after a lot of research into different places to stay this was our choice and for many reasons. First off, the condo has beach access! You walk out and there are lots of chairs and umbrellas to choose from and your own private area to sit and go from the beach to the pool all day! Second, this condo is centrally located so anywhere you want to go is only a 15-30 minute drive! It was great! Third, the condo is nicely updated, has everything you need inside of it to cook, clean, and most importantly relax! Lastly, Donald is amazing! He made sure our honeymoon to Maui and our stay at his condo was fantastic! He checked in a few times, gave us ideas of some things to do, and was always available if need be. We will definitely be returning to Maui and would 100% choose to stay here again.

Great condo! Very peaceful and relaxing area!

This condo was exactly what we wanted for some relaxation time and we were very happy with our stay at Nani Kai Hale! It felt like we were on our own private beach as there were never that many people around. The condo had everything we needed and was very clean and comfortable and had A/C! We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and spent many hours outside the condo enjoying the peacefulness of this location. We also used the grill for lunch and cooled off in the pool area. Having the umbrellas outside provided a more comfortable time for relaxing during the heat of the day.

Thank you Donald & Linda for the complimentary coffee which we enjoyed every day with our breakfast. Having 2 bathrooms was also an added bonus! Thank you for all of the tips you sent prior to our arrival. It was very easy to drive around the island.

The only thing that could've made this vacation better was if we had known about Wal-Mart, if the bedroom had dark curtains and if we had stayed longer than a week. We bought our groceries from Safeway not knowing that there was a Walmart with much lower prices. A loaf of bread at Safeway cost $5.59 and at Wal-Mart it was $2.88! Due to the light shade in the bedroom window, we were up before 6:00 am and there was no sleeping in. We did nap in the living room one time as it was darker.

After I returned home, Donald mentioned in an email that he will be adding darker curtains to the bedroom in the future so I would advise that you bring an eye mask if you prefer a dark room for sleeping. All in all, this was a GREAT experience and we would stay here again!

Owner's Response: Aloha and Mahalo Lori for your great review, sorry about those food costs, but one of the information articles we sent you, and every guest, mentions the new Target store, where we do most of our food shopping because of the lower prices compared to Safeway, the Walmart store is also mentioned.. Sorry you missed that info. The bedroom drapes are the new drapes, we chose a lighter color to provide light with privacy to the bedroom as many of our guests burn all the daylight before heading to bed. However, guest comfort is our #1 priority so we will replace the bedroom drapes with black-out style to insure everyone can sleep comfortably day or night. We are looking forward to your return and thank you for your observations.

"Babymoon" a success!

My husband and I had such a wonderful stay at Nani Kai Hale. This was our first time using VRBO and it was such a great experience. Donald and Linda have really made this a "home away from home". Donald was also such an attentive host and provided us with lots of great recommendations for what/where to visit while in Maui. The place comes fully stocked, so cozy and clean, and there are even starter gifts waiting for you upon your arrival! The location was perfect - the beach out front peaceful and not overcrowded, and a central location if you're wanting to explore other places on the island as well. We definitely took full advantage of the beach chairs and umbrellas available, as well as added a boogie board to the collection. We had such a great time and wish we could have stayed for an extra week! Thanks again for being such wonderful hosts and making this a trip to remember.
