About Michelle

Our family lives in Charleston, SC. We love to travel and enjoy getting away to Wilmington. I grew up in the South and my husband grew up in the Northeast but came south as soon as he could. I graduated from Clemson University and he graduated from Norwich University in Vermont. We have a ten year old daughter and an eleven year old yellow lab - both of which enjoy travelling with us.

Michelle purchased this condo in 2006

Why Michelle chose Wilmington

We fell in love with this home as soon as we saw it even though we had told ourselves we would never buy an historic home. For the first few years we owned it the home was rented to mostly students at nearby UNCW but we recently decided to completely renovate the house and once we saw the beautiful results we decided it would be a great homebase for people visiting the area.

What makes this condo unique

This home has so much charm and is in a great location close to everything downtown and an easy drive to some of the best beaches in North Carolina.

Perfect location

  • 5 of 5

My son and I stayed here for a couple of nights before I dropped him off for summer camp at UNCW. The apartment was the perfect set up for him and me, with one bedroom in the front of the unit and one in the back (I wasn't bothered by a teenage boy playing games on his phone until late at night). We loved the historic charm of the place and it was very clean and well-stocked. My son would have preferred to be a bit closer to downtown, but it's only about a 10 minute stroll and I appreciated the distance from all the activity. The next time we're in town, we're definitely going to stay here, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in a visit to Wilmington!

Very comfortable and nicely furnished home. Within walking distance to all restaurants and shops in historic downtown. A short drive to all the beaches and sites. Highly recommend the place!

Loved Wilmington!!

  • 3 of 5

The condo was very nice but curb appeal not so nice. I arrived to a torn recliner in the front of the home and walked up a flight of soiled painted steps. Thank goodness the condo was comfortable and nicely decorated. I did have to have the apartment manager come and vacuum under sofa pillows because there was quite a bit of debris from previous visitors. Michelle seemed very kind and attentive to my concerns and I hope that these things could be taken care of so that another visitor would not be met with questions regarding cleanliness of this condo.

Quaint Historic Area

  • 4 of 5

We booked this spot based on previous reviews and the location. It was a great stay overall. We were very happy with how well stocked things were, easy to get to, easy entry and we had no issues getting around.

The only things that we would suggest based on our experience is the cable/tv in the main living area was awful. The remotes all need new batteries since none of them worked properly. To operate the TV in the bedroom we had to swap out the working batteries each time between the 2 remotes. The TV in the main room was a major challenge - it didn't turn on without going directly to the screen for On Demand options - we just wanted the weather/news on in the background and got so irritated we eventually gave up because it was not worth the fight to get it to work correctly.

The other issue we had was the bedroom in the back, near the bathroom. The bed was propped up on wooden blocks because the frame didn't fit the headboard correctly, as we leaned against it while getting ready the entire bed crashed down off the blocks that were holding it up. Not what we were expecting at all.

Loved the charm, loved the location, the ease of getting around was totally worth it - we would book again and not let the little "complaints" we had deter us from enjoying a trip to Wilmington.

Comfortable Stay

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful historic home. As soon as we entered it and turned the air on the property manager knocked on our door about an hour later to let us know that there was a leak coming through the flooring. She acted quickly and when we got back to the house after our pre-wedding event the repair man was in our place fixing it. Thank You Sanja!! Outside of the Rainy Rainy Rainy weekend, Wilmington is a lovely area not only for weddings but also for Breweries ♥️
