Secluded Luxury Mountain Chalet near downtown Fayetteville

Luxury mountain chalet with 4 bedrooms and 4 baths on secluded 25 acre property close to downtown Fayetteville (1.5 miles) and New River Gorge Bridge and National Park (2 miles). The house was remodeled in early 2014 and was opened for vacation rentals beginning in May, 2014. The Sugar Creek Chalet is 1/4 mile from the Ramsey Mountain Lodge (VRBO 452740), both are owned by Bill and Sally Wells. We strive to deliver the highest quality vacation experience and encourage you to read our guest reviews. Amenities include hardwood and tile floors, granite countertops, newly remodeled kitchen and bathrooms, gas log fireplace, screened porch and large deck plus a sandstone fire ring with masonry sitting walls. The house is pet friendly and has a fenced in backyard. Sleeping accommodations include a first floor master bedroom with a queen size bed and master bath. A second full bath is also located on the first floor. Two bedrooms and a loft are found on the second floor. One bedroom has 3 single beds. The second bedroom has a full size bed and the loft has a full size futon. The basement features a bedroom with 4 bunk beds, a family room with a queen size convertible couch and a full bath. The family room includes a game table and foosball table. The Sugar Creek Chalet will sleep 10 to 15 people and large groups up to 28 people can be accommodated by renting both the Sugar Creek Chalet and the Ramsey Mountain Lodge (VRBO #452740)

This house fits our family just right (7 adults, 5 kids). The large yard and long driveway give the kids plenty of space to play outside and ride their bikes. We cook all of our meals in the kitchen, which has everything we need. The location is great, close to all kinds of activities.

Ideal Home Base for Exploring New River Gorge

We had a wonderful stay in this home with our family of nine! The house was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and spacious, with plenty of sleeping areas, several bathrooms, and lots of spots to relax and hang out together. Check-in was smooth, and everything was easy from start to finish.The location couldn’t have been better—tucked away in a peaceful, quiet area that truly felt like we had the mountains to ourselves, yet just minutes from everything we wanted to do in and around New River Gorge National Park. Every activity was within a 10-minute drive!We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would absolutely stay again.

Fun in Fayetteville

We had a great week here. It was spacious and met the needs of our family - 4 adults, 2 kids, 1 dog. Location was perfect, close to restaurants and activities in the New River Gorge National Park, but the house is on a large property that is peaceful and secluded. Enjoyed the gas grill for some burgers and dogs and especially enjoyed the stone fire pit.

Loved it so much we went back!

We rented this place a second time because it was perfect for our family weekend. With plenty of places to sleep, 4 bathrooms, and a fenced in backyard for the dogs, it is perfect!

Wonderful rental!

We loved our stay. There were plenty of beds and plenty of bathrooms! The kitchen was furnished with everything a person would need to prepare meals. The location is peaceful and quiet. We'd surely stay again!

We had a great weekend/New Years at the Chalet. Quiet, secluded location that is only a short drive from town. Owner's were very friendly and happy to supply us with extra towels and a later departure.

Great Large House Near Fayettville WV

The pictures online are a little outdated and the beds were not the most comfortable. Other than that, it accommodated all of our needs and was in a great location. Watching my hounds run around in the back yard was cool and it was close to everything we needed and the things we had planned to do. Overall, it was a great experience, and we all had a really great time. Thanks to the hosts and owners. My girlfriend left a necklace there and she contacted bill who will be mailing her necklace back to her. Thank you for that.

Another Very Enjoyable Stay

This property is well suited for a large group. It is minutes from Fayetteville, is quiet and easy to get to. The house is clean and updated and the owners provide all of the things you would need to be comfortable. The instructions and communications are very good. It was perfect for our group and we really have no complaints.

Bill and Sally Wells are the owners of the Sugar Creek Chalet and live nearby on the 25 acre property. Sally grew up next door and Bill is a native of Upper St. Clair, PA. The Wells purchased Sally's homeplace in 2007 and moved into their home on the property in 2012. They remodeled the original house (Ramsey Mountain Lodge) into a vacation rental that opened in May 2013. The adjoining neighbor’s house came on the market in December 2013 and the Wells purchased the house for a vacation rental to be opened in May 2014.

Why they chose this property

Sally grew up on the property in the house that her father built in the early 1950's. We both enjoy outdoor recreation and love Fayetteville and the New River Gorge. I had a job opportunity in nearby Beckley, WV that allowed us to move the Fayetteville in 2012 and open our first vacation rental in 2013. We purchased our neighbors house in late 2013 when they were transferred to South Carolina. The new house has been remodeled and and opened in May of 2014.

What makes this property unique

The house is located on 25 acres of gently rolling land near the edge of the New River Gorge. You will be staying in a secluded, woodland setting in a luxury mountain chalet that is also within walking distance (1.5 miles) of downtown Fayetteville where you will find many excellent restaurants and shops. No other vacation rental property in Fayetteville offers the same combination of affordable price, secluded mountain setting, convenient location to town and luxury accommodations.
