and an indoor pool. There are two hot tubs (adults only), tennis courts, pickleball courts, a basketball court, plus a fitness center with a great gym and aerobics and game room. A variety of fitness classes are offered throughout the year. There is a spa as well.
Note!! Only one week left!! Either rent August 10-17 (Friday to Friday-great way to avoid the Saturday traffic) or August 11-18 (Saturday to Saturday).
The Peninsula has been named BEST RESORT in Delaware for its world-class amenities and for its distinctive and luxurious design. The first thing you see as you enter the gated Peninsula grounds is a beautiful fountain followed by a tree lined, elegant main "esplanade"-which leads thorough the resort…a combination of beautiful homes, natural settings, nature paths, etc. For the holidays, the evening view is spectacular with lighted trees for each community. In the spring, colorful tulips and spring flowers greet you. As you enjoy the beauty of the surroundings as you drive up the esplanade, you feel your body relax and stress disappear.

There is a King bed in the master bedroom and a chair that converts into a single bed. In the second bedroom there is a Queen size bed and for additional sleeping accommodations, two single cots are available. In front of the condo building is a small toddler’s playground and there is designated, covered parking underneath the building. The condo is within easy walking distance to the clubhouse and Lakeside Village where all of the pools, golf facilities, tennis courts, gym, and restaurant are located.
The condo will accommodate two couples or a small family. The limit on the number of guests is 5. It is a great get away in a beautiful environment! Rates off season are very low. The rates per bedroom are lower than a hotel and you have a living room, a full kitchen, a washer and dryer, comfortable porch, etc. Don't hesitate to inquire.
Our condo is walking distance to the clubhouse and the Village amenities (swimming pools, tennis courts, gym, etc.) We have two adult bicycles for you to use as well as beach chairs, beach umbrella, sand toys, etc for your use. There are lounge chairs for guests at the outside pools and some chairs at the bay beach. Inside the condo we also have a variety of books, movies on DVDs, and CDs.
There is a fee charged by the country club for using the amenities. Off season (September 4-May23) the daily rates are $7 for adults (16 and older) and $5 for children (6-15). Children 5 and under are free. (Weekly passes off season are $45 for adults and $30 for children.)
The summer season is May 24 to September 3 in 2018. The weekly pass is $85 for adults and $45 for children. Children under 5 are free. I now require a 6 or 7 day rental for the summer season.
Use of the bay beach is free. The sandy bay beach is great for seeing the sunrise or letting little children explore the beach and nature. I have a storage area that contains two old fashioned coaster bikes for guest use as well as beach chairs, beach toys, a beach umbrella, and miscellaneous items. The Peninsula is a great place for walking, running, or bike riding.
The Peninsula rents kayaks, paddle boards, and bicycles at reasonable rates.
CHECK IN AND OUT TIMES AND LINENS
Check in time is 4:00 PM on the day of arrival and check out time is 11:00 AM on day of departure. Off season you can have extra time if no one is coming or going on the day of your departure.
Linens (towels and sheets) are not included with this unit. (Special accommodations can be made for travelers who are coming by plane or unusual circumstances, especially off season.) Bath rugs and dish towels are included and usually there is a supply of paper products in the condo.
NEARBY PLACES TO VISIT and DAY TRIPS
Tangier shopping outlets are 15-20 minutes away. Delaware has tax free shopping so it the item cost $25 that is what you pay…no tax. For swimming in large waves, Rehoboth Beach, Dewey Beach, and Lewes Beach are all about a half hour drive away. Along the route 1 corridor connecting the various beach towns are the outlets and many stores and restaurants and tourist attractions. The little town of Millsboro is 10 minutes away and has many antique shops and an inexpensive old-fashioned bowling alley. There is a modern, more expensive one called Lefty’s on route 1. There is a water slide park on Route 1, goofy golf, movies, go cart racing, etc.
The Peninsula is located on the Eastern Shore, a large, interesting part of the country south of Philadelphia and Wilmington and across the Chesapeake Bay from Baltimore, Annapolis, and DC. From our condo, you can take many day trips to places on the eastern shore as well as along the Atlantic coast. The spring and fall off season are great times to visit. The weather is good, rates are low, and there is a lot to do within a one or two hours’ drive.
Day trips from the condo include the nautical town of St. Michael's Maryland, the Salisbury zoo and Ward Waterfowl Museum, Ocean City Md, the quaint towns of Berlin, MD, Lewes, DE, Milton, DE and many, many more. Go to Dover, DE and see the Air Mobility Command Museum or head to northern Delaware area for the famous Longwood Gardens, Winterthur museum and gardens, or the Hagley Museum. Take the ferry across the Delaware Bay, enjoy the boat ride, and go to the Victorian town of Cape May, New Jersey- a great day trip. South is the Chincoteague National Wildlife Area, NASA’s Wallops Island, and Assateague Island. Locals even take a bus trip to New York City for the day. My condo can be your place to relax after a busy day sightseeing. Unlike many states, the geography, the history, and the interesting sites are many and varied within short distances from the Peninsula. There is something for everyone nearby.
Off season there are many festivals and special events year-round in the Rehoboth area. In the fall the Jazz Festival and Sea Witch Festival are very, very popular. In the spring, the kite festival at Cape Henlopen State Park is a wonderful event for adults and children. Nearby towns also have special events. For example, there is an apple scrapple festival in Bridgeville, MD, colonial Dover Days in Dover, Delaware, Fifer Farms Fall Fest, and many, many more special events. What is special about all these events, is there is a small town flavor to them. They are not commercialized and great for families and people wanting to enjoy a week-end away.
