Great house, beautiful (remote) location.

  • 4 of 5

This is a very cool house in a ridiculously beautiful location. It comfortably accommodated our two families (4 adults, 4 kids ages 11-15) for the week we were there. Dining on the porch is a delight; fires by the creek were a treat; lounging around inside during the couple rainy days we had was also very pleasant.

It is a bit of a climb up the mountain; I was happy to have 4WD, although I didn't really need it in July. Make sure you use Melissa's instructions to get to the house (as opposed to Google Maps, which doesn't seem to have any clue how to get there). It's kind of a winding, long way up there, mostly due to the failing bridge you have to bypass, I think. A spontaneous trip to the grocery store (Ingles in Burnsville) is going to be 30 minutes there and 30 minutes back, so get what you need before you settle in. And keep your eyes out for bears: we had a couple visit us multiple times during our stay. Pretty awesome.

One of the best vacations in a long time! We loved the house so much that we could hardly get anyone to leave to go out to dinner or anywhere else. It was an awesome experience. We saw an otter, owl, and a bear ( from the window) I took my daughter's senior photos at the falls and couldn't have asked for a better background. The house was equipped with all that we could possibly need. We spent most of our time on the decks and enjoyed the firepit making smores at night. Our teens and young adult children loved having their own floor to hang out, but also stayed up on the main level to play board games and cards in the evening. Thank you for a wonderful week and we will be back!

Amazing Mountain Home

  • 5 of 5

This is an amazing mountain home get away that you can’t go wrong with. The house is huge, comfortable and is nestled in a relaxing outdoor environment. You have everything you need at the house and don’t want to leave once you arrive. The creek is beautiful and the sound from it is very relaxing. I would recommend this property and return to it if given the opportunity in the future.

Beautiful location!

  • 4 of 5

Very pretty location!! We really loved the waterfalls and peaceful nature of the property. House is kept up very nice too. We cooked every meal there and had everything we needed. Enjoyed having morning coffee listening to the waterfalls and nights roasting marshmallows by the fire pit.

The only con for us is that there are no drapes or shutters on any windows. This felt a little uncomfortable in the sleeping areas and bathrooms. We had kids with us that had to sleep right next to sliding doors that were open to the dark. Very remote place, but it would be nice to have the option to close drapes in the evening in these areas. That may not bother others though, just our experience. The rest of the time we truly loved the view we had!!!

Worthy to note- there are signs before the bridges on the dirt road up to the house that say the bridge has been deemed unsafe to drive over. We were not sure what to do, and got out of the car to ask a local outside about it. Very friendly woman told me they are fine- the signs are just there to keep traffic down. 🤷?‍♀️ Regardless, we did okay crossing them several times.

Absolutely stunning in every aspect. Perfect getaway with tons of privacy.

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is etched into the side of a rushing mountain stream which provided lots of hiking and rock climbing. The kids loved it. A bit off the grid (does have excellent WiFi) which is exactly what we were after. Melissa at the leasing office was terrific and checked on us often. Highly recommend.

Very nice house and location.

  • 5 of 5

The house and its location certainly place you in the wood and makes it feel like nature is "right there". If choosing to visit this house, just remember there are only two real bedrooms. There are 2 single beds in a loft area that opens to the main living area and 2 in the living area downstairs. The house worked well for my needs because I only needed the two bedrooms. The "dirt road" drive took a little getting use to because it is basically a one lane road, with some pull over areas, up and down the mountain. It was not an issue with for me because of the time of year we visited.

I will certainly consider visiting this house again.
