Beautiful property and home. My family enjoyed every minute.

A very special trip for us as our daughter's first birthday was this past week. The parkway, my Mitchell, emerald village and Linville caverns was close by. Loved Linville winery the most though :)

Beautiful house with spectacular views of the creek and its waterfalls!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 7 had a great time hanging out around the firepit, playing ping-pong, hiking up and down the creek, and lounging around the spacious house. Would definitely return in the future!

Precisely What We Were Looking For

  • 5 of 5

When my sister and I got together about six months ago and said we needed to get away for a while with our two families, we knew we wanted to find something off the grid. After settling on a mountain property, as opposed to a beach property, I started looking and soon discovered there were few options out there that fit the mold of what we determined would be perfect. A few months into our search, and I stumbled upon this property. The best compliment I can give this property is to describe our initial impression when we pulled up. Do you know that disappointing feeling when you order something off a menu, and it looks nothing similar to what is advertised? Have you ever experienced the same scenario with a hotel or a vacation property? We didn't know what to expect when we pulled up, but we couldn't have been happier with our decision. It was simply amazing and precisely what we hoped it would be -and more. When we pulled up, everybody scattered about the building and surroundings. My sister and I were in awe; immensely impressed. Not only was it as described, it was better. We are hard-working city people; connected to emails, phone calls and daily drama. Our kids are those immersed in electronics, social media and their friends. Never once, did we adults feel the need to convince ourselves our vacation spot was perfect, because it was perfect. The kids went from complaining about their seclusion and change of environment before we got there to one of genuine interest of exploration and enjoyment of their new-found surroundings. The fire pit was our focal point throughout the course of our stay, which provided for fireside coffees in the morning, and a chance to relax before bed. Our little ones enjoyed the seclusion of their quarters on the top level, and the rest of us fit perfectly well throughout the rest of the lodge. Everything like the oven, microwave and hot water worked as it should. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for the same seclusion and escape we were for ourselves and our kids.

Recent stay

  • 3 of 5

We recently stayed at this property & enjoyed our stay. The view is excellent & the pictures of the creek don't do it justice. The back porch was excellent for grilling, eating dinner & enjoying a fire. My son had a great time exploring the creek & surrounding woods. It is about a 25 min ride up the mountain from Burnsville so have to add that to your travel time for local adventures. We did have some maintenance issues such as many windows would not open or were missing screens (very important when renting a house in June with no air condition), a lot of the lights didn't work, toilet leaked, cabinet door came off & one burner on the stove did not work. The management company did their best to fix but only so much that could be done. Overall it was a good house just needs some TLC.

Amazing Retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this cabin the last week of June/first week of July and couldn’t have been more impressed. The views from inside the home are as spectacular as the views of the property itself. The owners didn’t spare any details when building this house. We enjoyed fishing nearby, grilling dinner outside, and exploring the creek. The home is located in a wonderful neighborhood, yet still very private. We hiked with our young children and met several homeowners who were extremely considerate to our family. This is an amazing home that is well cared for and included every amenity we needed that week. Thank you for sharing it with us!
