About Tony or Annie Jones
Tony's family came to Kodiak from SE Alaska in 1967 to pioneer the commercial shrimp fishery. Annie joined the family in 1973 coming from Tennessee. Tony continued to fish commercially, owning and operating many vessels and fishing all over the state for almost every species of critter there is to catch - from crab to salmon. Annie opened a bookstore and kept the home fires burning, occasionally coming along to tender salmon or fish herring, bringing Hope & Molly, their 2 daughters along. Have operated Beachside Bed & Breakfast for 7 years in our same location - we decided last winter to expand and rent the house as a Vacation Rental. It's fun to share this very special location with visitors to Kodiak.
Tony or Annie Jones purchased this House in 1979
Why Tony or Annie Jones chose Kodiak
Beachside is a very unique little property. It's snuggled in a residential neighborhood, but as most of the homes are on the cliff overlooking the channel, our yard is down on the water. It just offers a little different perspective. All the views along here are spectacular but we enjoy being on the channel. Daily we see the sea lions make their way to and fro along with ducks, loons, etc. Eagles reside above and around us on all sides. We never tire of watching the commercial vessels plow by along with charter boats zipping in and out and the steady stream of seaplanes that fly out of Trident basin to many island destinations. It's never boring here.
What makes this House unique
Our 1930's venue cabin is charming and comfortable with all the amenities of home. Experience the view of the channel from the house, sunroom or greenhouse. Even in the worst of weather, our garden greenhouse provides a shelter from the storm while offering up close viewing of wildlife and anything that happens by or above.

Perfectly Peaceful ❣️
Loved-Loved-Loved this home!!! Probably good we don't live here year round as we were so content to do nothing except sit in our jammie's, sip our coffee & soak up the view. Another hard-2-find amenity is the comfortable & ample seating in the living room! Also love the kitchen that is open to the living room with a bathroom conveniently located near by. AND you'll not meet any friendlier owners-they made us feel both welcome & wanted. Their home is immaculate to boot & plenty of private parking. Also grateful for mud room entry; a dry & warm place to shed our rain gear & boots. This is our 4th Kodiak home to rent & hands down our favorite. So grateful Annie & Tony are willing to share their peaceful retreat with others.
Perfect waterfront location. House was roomy and very comfortable! Had everything we needed plus! Would highly recommend this home!
Nothing better than this piece of paradise!
My husband, me, my cousin and her husband stayed here and all of us loved it. My husband and I have been going to Kodiak for 6 years and this is the best on the island. The view is amazing. Watching the seals, boats, and small planes take off and land is the best. Annie, is the best hostess of any of the places I've rented. We will definitely be back!!
We don't have words that express how much we fell in love with Annie and Tony's house on the water, not to mention how very welcome Annie and Tony made us feel during our visit. We watched the boats come in and out of the channel while sipping our coffee in the morning (Keurig, yay!). There are several groups of sea lions that head into the channel in the morning. In the evening, while sipping our wine in the backyard, we would watch them swim back out. We had fun saying they were going to work, and then coming back at night. Or maybe its the other way around - out in the morning and in with the evening. Not sure. It didn't matter. We watched sea lions playing from our backyard while sipping coffee and wine. There was one very large group that we videoed all coming home at night after a day's work. They are so playful. We were truly spoiled. The house was beautiful. The kitchen is wide open to the living room with big, big windows to see outside while cooking. Not that we cooked a lot. Are you kidding? Not with the new restaurants and coffee houses in town to sample. The bedrooms were very comfortable, especially if you leave the windows open while you sleep to let in that wonderful Kodiak night air. Annie and Tony had a beautiful herb garden in the back. And the greenhouse is the perfect outside haven when Kodiak is having one of their sprinkles. Very cute table and chairs for nature watching, snacking on crackers and cheese, and sipping, what else, wine. :)
I can't say enough how much we enjoyed Annie and Tony's house. It is a hidden treasure on the seas of Kodiak. And we found it. Next time we find our way to Kodiak, Annie and Tony's house is our first choice. And Annie and Tony are treasures also. Very welcoming!
Tony and Annie are great hosts -
The property is delightful, relaxing and delivers on breath-taking views of the coastline. Well kept, nicely stocked and perfect for a family getaway. We loved it and exploring Kodiak!
This was a very comfortable home with a spectacular view. We just loved watching the boats, planes, and seals go through the harbour.
Beachside is in a quiet neighborhood away from main thoroughfare traffic, on the water in a very serene location, yet only 1 mile from the downtown area and boat harbor.
