Welcome to Le Prieuré Virsac, lovely country house 20 Km from Bordeaux.
This impressive 13th Century Priory, is the perfect place to organize family holidays, to visit the Bordeaux vineyards' and to discover the nice and pleasant county of Gironde

Surrounded by the Bordeaux vineyards of Virsac, le "Prieuré de Virsac" is an impressive 13th Century Priory, set in a private road and enclosed walled garden, and owned by the same family for generations. It's an ideal location from which to raid the great Châteaux of Médoc, Graves, Sauternes and Saint Emilion.

The property would suit easily 20 people.

In July and August : We only rent for entire week starting on saturdays.

Charming spacious property and a gracious helpful host family.

Excellent well appointed historic property with a good pool, games area and spacious kitchen. The hosts were very helpful and attentive. The village of Virsac is a mix of very old and modern approx 30 mins from Bordeaux. We were a family party of 17 and we had a most enjoyable week in the glorious sunshine.

The most beautiful stay

There were a group of 20 girls on our trip. I can't begin to explain how wonderful it is. The accommodation is massive, we had so much space you never felt on top of each other. The beds were incredibly comfortable, nice and firm, just right. Christophe greeter us and gave us a great tour. He kindly reordered us our fresh bread and pastries before we arrived which we could then pick up each morning. A 4 min walk. He made us feel so welcome there and if the opportunity presented itself again, I would certainly come back

Family gathering

A brilliant place to stay if you are a large group with various age groups. The place is very well equipped and has lots of facilities. The bathrooms were fine for us but there is no en-suites. The owners were amazing and very friendly nothing was too much trouble. The decor was elegantly traditional French and the house had been in the family for 8 generations!

Nice house for vacation with familj and friends

We had a lovely week at this nice house. The garden was big enough for both games and outdoor eating. The pool with surroundings was really good. The house was big enough for at least 20 persons with enough bathrooms. The Kitchen was well equipped with two sinks, dishwashers and washingmashines. The collage was very quiet, had a good tenniscourt and a Nice boulangerie. Big bonus was the gym-hall, fun for all of us. Thank’s for a lovely vacation.

Le Prieurè

We are a family ranging from 5 years to 80 years and our stay at Le Prieurè was a huge success. The property is charming, the facilities are excellent. The teenagers loved the sports hall and hang-out spaces as well as the pool. There were badminton tournaments, table tennis tournaments, soccer games and lots of swimming. Odine and Christophe were kind and generous hosts- always there to help but very respectful of our privacy. I will recommend this property to friends and plan to return ourselves. Thank you, Christophe et Odine!

Outstanding and beautiful property for large groups of mixed ages

It was a privilege to stay a week at this beautiful property. We were a mixed family and friend group aged from 12 to 60. The house is massive, even filled to maximum capacity of 20 people you may not see each other all day - the pool, gym and stables provided loads of physical entertainment, while the three salons provided piano and guitar playing, contemplation, jigsaw puzzling, reading and Tour De France viewing spaces. The kitchen has ample space for several people to be preparing or cooking meals at the same time and not get in each others way. There are two dishwashers, two sinks, two drainage spaces, two washing machines, a dryer and there is also a clothesline in the yard where you can park several cars and where the rubbish bins and compost area are located. Christophe and his wife (the owners) live in adjacent building and are incredibly helpful and responsive at all times - before and during our stay.There is a lovely space outside for dining under a shady loggia and on the odd night it rained we dined inside at the massive round dining table which is apparently made from the bottom of a wine barrel - there are multiple dining sets and glasses for dressing up the dinner table. Everything has been thought of in terms of guests comfort and requirements, and the house has so much character that makes you feel you are in a home as well as in a place with much history.

Nous avons tous passé un très bon séjour dans cette grande maison, qui est absolument très bien équipée. Nous étions 19, en famille, de 8 à 85 ans, pour fêter Noël et les anniversaires des grands parents. La grande table ronde de la salle à manger est extraordinaire, on y tient sans problème à 19. La maison est super bien équipée en vaisselle en tout genre. Il y a en plus dans la cuisine une grande table qui nous a servi pour les petits déjeuner. La cuisine est parfaite pour y cuisiner, il y a une grand four, 2 lave-vaisselles, 2 frigo, 2 éviers, 2 machines à café, des grands plats, plein d'assiettes, plein de verres, plein de couverts, etc. Le salon est grand avec suffisamment d'assises pour 19 personnes. Il y a également un plus petit salon avec 3 canapés, nous y tenions à 19 aussi ! Les chambres sont grandes et bien agréable. Ce qui nous a séduit ce sont les deux espaces dortoirs qui convenaient parfaitement à notre famille, un dortoir avec 6 lits (un peu frais en hiver, cet espace n'était pas à 18 degrés), un dortoir avec 4 lits. Le seul petit bémol de cette grande maison : les salles de bain qui demandent à être rénovées. En hiver nous avons pu profiter des extérieurs avec la table de ping pong et la grange transformée en espace jeux absolument génial !

Nous avons loué cette maison pour le réveillon 2016 et tout a été parfait : l'accueil du propriétaire, la qualité du lieu et l'ambiance de cette propriété. Cette immense maison est l'endroit idéal pour se retrouver à plusieurs familles et profiter de la vie. Un endroit plein de charme et d'histoire tout en restant confortable et pratique.
