Why Daniel Wolfus chose Yosemite National Park

We purchased this home many years ago. It has been a great family get away in a unique location inside of Yosemite National Park.

What makes this house unique

My property is available from Jul 2, 2015 - Jul 6, 2015. The house is inside the park and very centrally located to all the areas of interest. It is a block from the South Fork of the Merced river, 30 minutes from Yosemite Valley, 20 minutes from El Capitan, 45 minutes from Glacier Point and a mile from the Historic Pioneer Center. The spectacular Mariposa Grove of giant sequoias is also 15 minutes from our house. The wonderful location of this home inside Yosemite National Park adds a special feeling to this charming home. The home is close to the Wawona Hotel, restaurant and golf course and has the added advantage that you only enter through the Park gates once and then you are inside the Park for your whole visit.

Great place

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at your cabin! Not super fancy, but cozy with very comfortable beds and a huge deck to enjoy our family....the stars at night were incredible. We were busy every day and found this cabin a great place to kick back and relax at the end of the day. Good to buy a week's groceries in Oakhurst before arrival.

Just right!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Daniel's house. I was expecting to really have to rough it in the cabin in the woods, but it wasn't that way at all. The house was spic and span, with comfy beds and a beautiful deck. I loved having 2 nice bathrooms. There was plenty of room for the 6 of us. We loved Wawona too, with 2 stores close by, one a quick walk. We enjoyed a nice daily paddle in the nearby Merced Ricer....but be sure to search out all the different swimmable spots till you find your favorite. Wifi worked well--a real boon with teenage guests.

Property is nice house needs work

  • 4 of 5

The property is located in an ideal place. Really the bathrooms could be upgraded and the A.C. fixed. The cost was a bit rich for the venue but I would do it again.

Owner's Response: During your stay the house did not yet have air conditioning. However, due to the unprecedented hot weather we have had this year, air conditioning is being installed this week. The house has been recently renovated with new stone floors and the addition of a washer and dryer.

Great Location

  • 4 of 5

The property is well-supplied with patio furniture, bedding, towels, and all the essentials. There were 7 of us and there was plenty of room. We used the Shuttle to get around in the village and found out later that it also goes to Glacier Point. We hiked every day and loved the scenery. The swim hole is by the elementary school and we all enjoyed jumping off rocks and cooling off. Air-conditioning would make it even better. The owner plans to put it in in August.

Good space, clean, HOT

  • 3 of 5

The house was clean. A bit dated. Layout good for our family of 5. Very disappointed that it was not clear in the description that there was no central air. It was 90 degrees inside the house when we arrived.

Owner's Response: We are sorry that your stay occurred during an unusually hot, major heatwave in Yosemite. The house has fans in each room and large sliding doors for cross ventilation, which generally keeps the house cool. But no where in our description did we indicate we had air conditioning. However, we have become very aware of the overall warming trend in Yosemite. Therefore we have contracted to have central air conditioning installed in our cabin, Alpine Paradise, in August. We will let everyone know as soon as the installation is complete.
