About Lynsey Malone

This home is owned by Lynsey (me), my twin sister Heather and our brother, Chris.

I live in eastern Connecticut with my husband Gregg and our two boys so we fully understand the need for a peaceful living space, especially on vacation! Heather and her husband, Troy, live in Arizona and Chris lives in Washington state.

We welcome families, couples needing a retreat or a small group of people looking for a getaway. Thank you for visiting!

Why Lynsey Malone chose Connecticut

This home has been passed down through several generations of our family. We grew up in the house and have many fond memories of riding our bikes around the neighborhood, visiting the Seaport and Aquarium, making forts in the dining room and spending family time together. It's our goal to provide you with a wonderful place to make your own memories!

Guestbook comments from the owner

This house was such a wonderful find. It is located in such a prime spot in Mystic, on a perfect little street - walking distance to everything. It is beautifully renovated and decorated. The bathroom is thoughtfully stocked with all those little things you might forget and need. It has a full kitchen equipped with everything. I enjoyed a getaway with my fiance and my parents at this house and we all wished we could have stayed longer. The house was such a cozy spot for us to connect and hang out. Lynsey was a great host, she promptly gave us all the information we needed and checked on us upon arrival to make sure we were all set. She had a great and easy system for transferring the keys - it made it feel very private and not like someone was watching over us. I can't recommend this place enough - and the town of Mystic and surrounding areas are pretty great as well if you need a great little getaway!

Great place, close to downtown.

This was our fourth stay at this property and we were not disappointed. Lynsey goes out of her way to be sure the home is clean and fully stocked with all the things you need. The location is perfect; you can walk to all the downtown stores and restaurants.

Great and friendly historic New England house

  • 5 of 5

This house is a real gem and all we hoped for on our trip to New England. It is furnished very tastefully and has a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The owners thought about everything you might need, like beach toys for the children or some extra toothbrushes in case you forgot yours. Our kids also loved to play in the garden. The house is located very conveniently in short walking distance to the center of the town, restaurants and shops. At the same time it is very quiet and calm in the street. We can highly recommend to stay there!!! Many thanks to Lynsey and Heather

Perfect "Home" While on Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation this summer (2017) in your wonderful historic home from June 3rd to the 10th. It was fun staying in a home built in 1839, but with all the conveniences of 2017. It was not warm enough to turn on the a/c unit, but the ceiling fans (3 of them) kept the air moving around. We enjoyed your beautiful deck, grill, and yard, and the wonderful fragrance from that shrub on the front corner of your home. I loved all the windows and how bright and homey the apartment felt. We must say, we have never stayed in any rental property that was filled with more supplies than your home. You have given so much thought to the comfort of those who rent your property. It was a joy to return each day after all our travels. We visited the Seaport Museum, Aquarium, Pequot Museum on the Foxwoods property, the Nautilus at Groton and took a boat ride on Friday afternoon. Each of those locations is anywhere between 5 minutes to 25 minutes away - a short drive. We walked to S & P Oyster Company - a wonderful restaurant . We would like to return again sometime to enjoy walking around and looking at more of the historic homes and some sights we missed. Whenever we return, we will hope to stay at A Family Heirloom once again. And, the next time, we will visit Abbott's for lobster in the rough and Costello's Clam Shack over in the village of Noank. And by the way, Mystic Pizza really is great!! Thank you for everything and take care, Rich and Joyce.

Precious beach house.

  • 5 of 5

We just loved this house! It had such a beachy vibe and was just the perfect accommodations for our getaway. Lynsey was super helpful and the house was stocked with anything we could have ever needed. I don't have anything negative to say about it! We came in on the train and it is a walkable distance from the train station and most of the sites are walkable from the house as well. We will definitely be back.

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at several locations in Mystic and this is definitely the best. This home has all the amenities you will need for a comfortable stay. You can walk to all the shops and restaurants downtown. Lynsey, the owner, is very gracious and responds quickly to your questions and requests.
