Beautiful and Comfortable Stay at Senza Nome!

  • 5 of 5

We just got back from a weeks stay at Senza Nome, and it was wonderful. It was our first time to Eleuthera, and first off, Double Bay is a perfect location to access the fun of many restaurants, the convenience of stores, close beautiful beaches (including the one out your front door!), and then a central point for anywhere north or south. The beach right there is fabulous, the property grounds are beautiful to explore, Clarice came by with pastries and homemade conch fritters which were delicious, her husband and son came by and cut open coconuts, and were just the kindest people you could meet. The home had everything you could need for cooking, comforts and old fashioned entertainment (games, books, and we brought DVD's). And, it is sprawling! It just goes on and on - very unique. The wifi was sporadic and then stopped working entirely for the rest of our stay after a lightening caused power outage though we tried to re-start the router. Honestly, I am sure that is a tough one, and when coming to an out island you expect technical difficulties - they can be a blessing in disguise! A tip in general is to get the $10 a day international plan if you use AT&T. Then, you have that as a cheap back up if needed. Also, a big thing to me is bed comfort. You just never know, and the beds and comforters were so cozy that we slept fabulously. Lastly, we were hoping the other 2 rentals wouldn't be rented, but the cottage was for part of our stay. It wasn't a privacy issue at all. If anything, it was pleasant to briefly meet the couple renting! That beach in general had very few or no people on it every time we were out on it, which was typically at least a little bit every day. Lisa was responsive to work with and helpful when I had a question while there. Overall, the home is warm, comfortable and inviting. It was an amazing stay and we hope to get back to the island and Senza Nome within a year!

A great spot

  • 4 of 5

The house is on one of the prettiest beaches in Eleuthera. We have stayed on Double Bay many times, but this was our first at Senza Nome. We found it to have lovely views of the water, tasteful landscaping, a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable seating in the living room. The owners are in the process of updating the property, but had more than the usual share of glitches that proved more distracting than we would have preferred. We would have rated this villa with 5 stars had we had fewer mishaps.

Two other buildings are on the grounds and both were rented during our stay. We had thought this might be a problem in terms of privacy, but it wasn't an issue at all.

Total dream vacation - Senza Nome will blow your mind!!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a mind-blowing week's stay at Senza Nome with another family. I literally had no idea that a house and property could be so breathtakingly beautiful and AMAZING! The pictures do no justice. Senza Nome is a true gem to which we hope to return to again!

A few details:

1. The house is much bigger than the pictures show. Two (gigantic and airy) bedrooms operate on entirely opposite wings of the house. This is perfect for anyone with larger groups who need some occasional privacy. There is a 3rd bathroom, so the kids had their own place for rinsing and storing their things. A sun porch opens up to a lily pond and lovely garden (not in the photos), where the kids played hide and seek or tag for hours. The carefully curated artwork and general home details are updated and modern and have a resort villa feel.

2. The beach and general vibe/feel from the back porch are indescribable. The constellations at night burst with brightness (you'll never want to go inside), and your view of the ocean is honestly breathtaking. We got up a sunrise almost every morning because it was simply too lovely not to tiptoe down to the beach to welcome in the day by watching the waves and perfectly clean water.

3. Bring sandals or shoes to walk on the property. There are small prickers and prickly grass, and it's more comfy that way, esp with little kids. You'll want to explore! They are even two raised vegetable beds on-site for harvesting!

4. The kitchen is stocked for a banquet of 20. I am not joking. The amount of dishware and appliances is everything you could ever need, which was perfect for us because all we did was cook :). I strongly recommend getting settled in BEFORE going out to grocery shop. The house has so many staples and items on hand, that we probably could have left half the stuff we brought with us at home.

5. Clarice was (as everyone says) THE nicest hostess, and also cooked for many of the other guests during our stay. She brought us the kayak paddle (ah-mazing) and fishing rod upon our request, and we used the hand-drawn pictorial instructions for fishing off the beach in the house book. Such a nice touch!! Fresh fish only comes to the docks once per day in Rock Sound or Gov's Harbour (in good weather), so it was so fun to fish on our own :)

6. There are books galore and an entire game closet bursting with puzzles and old-school board games.

We simply cannot have imagined a nicer rental. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

A Refreshing Lift

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Senza Nome was beautiful. The home was very comfortable. Clarice made are stay delightful. She gave us some background of the island which we enjoyed hearing and conch fritters that were very tasty. We also enjoyed the fresh coconuts that Roland picked for us. The greatest sight was the the water and the beach. We visited other beaches while on the island but found the beach at Double Bay to be one of the prettiest. We enjoyed going to Island Farms for fresh breads , cinnamon buns and some vegetables. We also enjoyed the fresh lettuce and tomatoes from the garden at the house. It was so rewarding to be able to see that beautiful ocean any time of the day. I would highly recommend staying at Senza Nome.

Quiet, clean and inviting

  • 5 of 5

For the vacationer looking for a place to "escape the world", this house has all you desire. From BBQ serving fish caught in the morning to sunrises entering into the main bedroom to reading while the ocean breeze caresses the pages...Double Bay for a 2 mile stretch can be where you will go a day only seeing the very friendly beach dog (We named him Doggo). The beach is pristine clean and the water just as much. Lisa is wonderfully organized and helpful. Be prepared to bring non-perishable food with you. It will save you vs the local stores.
