Wonderful place to really enjoy Chianti Country
Idea location and setting to have sa romantic holiday in Tuscany.
Thank you for your feedback and for choosing Tenuta La Cipresseta for your holidays.
We were warmly welcomed by Rosita. The apartment was clean and well maintained.
We enjoyed our stay. It was wonderful to open the windows and see the Tuscan hillsides. We had peaceful relaxing stay. Thank you Rosita for providing us with a "home away from home."
We hope to stay with you again. We will certainly speak highly of our experience to friends and family.
thank you for the beautiful words you wrote. I am proud that you have been well and I also hope to meet you again in the future. I wish you a peaceful continuation.
Cute place, but very negative interactions with owner
Our trip started fine, but there was one incident that ruined our trip and a problem with bugs that didn't help.
The unit was clean upon arrival, but we found that there were quite a few bugs and swarms of ants that would come in through the master bedroom. We didn't have anything else and resorted to using wet towels to mop them up. This happened on four different days.
However, worse than that, while my wife was picking up around the apartment, she saw a particularly large bug that startled her. She jumped back and knocked over a lamp. We felt very bad about the broken lamp and reported it to the owner immediately. The next day, she came to take a look. When she walked in we told her what had happened, and she started acting very dramatic, saying, "No, no, no" over and over. At first my wife and I thought she was joking and that she would tell us that it wasn't a big deal. It was very strange, but when she didn't stop we finally realized that she was serious.
She turned to us and pointed straight at our children and said, "It was the bambino, wasn't it?" We had told her exactly what had happened, but she insisted we were covering for our children - although we are not sure why it would matter who had done it. To this day we believe that if it had been our children she probably would have scolded them right in front of us.
We had offered to pay for the lamp when we reported the incident to her and when she arrived, but she would not tell us how much it was worth - just that it was hard to find lamps like this that she liked. Finally, after yelling at us, but before she left, she stated that she was going to town to find a lamp and then pointed her finger and shouted at me, "and you pay!"
The next day she sent an email with a few excuses for her behavior, but the damage had already been done and we were very uncomfortable staying on her property for the rest of the trip (she lives onsite). I responded to the email, again offering to pay and requesting some idea of how much it cost, but she only responded "leave an amount you feel is appropriate when you leave" as if she was playing a game with us.
When we checked out, she gave me a bill of $70 for the lamp. I was happy to pay because we owed her a lamp, but disgusted that she made us feel so terrible over a $70 lamp. My wife and I had talked about leaving $200 thinking that it must have been worth at least that much given her reaction.
We were very disappointed with the owner.
I prefer not to comment on the review. As they say: "The customer is always right".
I don't think it's the case that in 20 years it's the first negative comment.
Rosita has created a beautiful home away from home in this Tuscan paradise. The apartments are well-appointed and tastefully decorated. Rosita takes great pride in her property and is very helpful if needed but unobtrusive otherwise.
Thank you so much. Happy to host you again in future.
The villa lies on a hill where you can admire an enchanting view: you can see the ruins of an old castle, Tuscan cottages, olive groves, vineyards and a perfectly preserved castle dating back to XV century, Paneretta's Castle. La Cipresseta is ideal for those who stay in the heart of Chianti Classico. In fact is possible to enjoy the quiet country life, abandoning himself to walk among the olive trees, vineyards and cypress forests, hills, discovering reading, just mentioned, cut lanes and white roads. At the same time, is an excellent starting point for your day trips, for excursions even of just a few hours in the nearby Tuscan art towns (Florence Km 35, Sienna Km 30, San Gimignano Km 15, Monteriggioni Km 20, Volterra Km 40 etc.) or in the small villages and medieval towns, rich in traditions and influences that have shaped the history of the Chianti Classico area, making this land famous all over the world. The villa is situated in an easily accessible place, convenient for any need
