Great Italian villa

This was a great stay for four couples. It would also be a great location for a family vacation. We loved the pool and the views and the solitude. We would highly recommend it.

The property is originally a lovely stone farmhouse from the 1950s, renovated and restored in 1999. It has magnificent views from all windows. It is owned by 3 brothers who keep the house for their own use. As it is constantly occupied, it is more cluttered than the photos show. But the home feels like it has great family history and is loved. The house is very hot in the summer but there is very efficient air-conditioing in all four bedrooms - which was a life-saver for us in the extreme heat we had during the summer. Communication with the owner was excellent and friendly. Apart from the views, for us, the best thing about the property was the excellent swimming pool. At 12 x 5 metres it was larger than usually found at rentals. It will always be remembered as the place our son learnt to swim! It was installed in 2021 and is clean and has outstanding views and a lovely shaded area. It was extremely peaceful here and relaxing. Closest food shopping is Grosetto, about 25 minutes away. But there is a wonderful restauant, Trattoria Le Mandorlaie, only bout 15 minutes away by car. The house welcomes dogs, which was a big plus for us. Our labrador loved it here. We had a very peaceful, relaxing (and hot!) week here.

Dear Steven and family Thank you so much for this wonderful, detailed review, it really made our day. We're so glad the house felt loved to you, because it truly is: it's been in our family for generations, and my brothers and I do our best to keep its character and history alive, even while juggling our own use of it. We're delighted the pool was such a highlight, it means a lot to hear it will be remembered as the place your son learned to swim! That's exactly the kind of memory we hope guests take home with them. And we're relieved the air conditioning kept you comfortable during what was a genuinely brutal heatwave this summer. Thank you too for your understanding about the "lived-in" feel of the house, you put it perfectly. We'll take your feedback on board and see if there's more we can do to tidy up between our own stays. It was a pleasure hosting you, your family, and your lovely labrador. We hope to welcome you all back one day! Warmest regards, Tommaso

We had a fantastic week in Magliano and this lovely villa. The house has everything you need and more and is located in a location with incredible views in all directions. The pool is really lovely and big. The host, Tommaso, is super nice, accommodating and friendly. He responded quickly when we had questions and gave us great tips on things to do and see, an excellent host! We really loved every minute here and can highly recommend going here. We will be back!

Everything We Needed

The house and its surroundings are beautiful. We particularly appreciated how well-equipped the place is for practical matters (such as cooking) as well as for leisure and enjoyment (the games; the table tennis table and, above all, the lovely swimming pool). The owner was extremely helpful in providing recommendations and options relating to local / regional attractions. Overall, a superb stay. Thank you!

A True Tuscan Experience

If you want the experience of staying in a beautiful family home with stunning views and lots of character, this is the place for you. This well-maintained and well-appointed home has absolutely everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The host, Tommaso, went out of his way to help us make plans and reservations for beach clubs and restaurants during our stay. He also personally greeted us at the property to provide us with an overview that helped us maximize our enjoyment; he also provided a range of snacks and beverages that allowed us to just relax and enjoy the property upon our arrival. The pool and the view of the countryside from the pool are absolutely incredible. We also made arrangements to have a local resident come and cook for us a couple of times, which made for a very memorable experience and afforded us the opportunity to sample a range of local dishes — all prepared from scratch (including excellent homemade pasta dishes). The beds and bedrooms and bathrooms were all comfortable and well-appointed. So many little details and touches that meant we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Lots of nearby villages and beaches within 20-45 minutes. So much to do. We really felt like we just scratched the surface during our one week stay. Tommaso’s high level of service and personal touches and attention made for a particularly memorable stay. I cannot recommend this property more if you are looking for a very authentic Tuscan experience!

Top secret!

Wonderful! If it were a spot of nature, I’d keep it a secret. We were a family of six (including teens) and stayed for two weeks in a very hot August. We expected to rent a villa but actually we were given the confidence to live in someone’s family country home. The pictures don’t do it justice; it’s far nicer. It’s in the Maremma, southern Tuscany and less touristy. The house lies off a small country road, in the middle of its olive grove, with a wonderful view (sunsets!) and its grounds are green with a myriad of plants and trees (we loved the figs). It’s roomy, very comfortably furnished, decorated, equipped, with a lovely patio for an aperitivo and outdoor dining. We loved the pool (very well maintained) which is located about 100 ft from the house in its own area of the grounds, with shady area, hammocks, sunbeds, etc. But it was the owner, Tommaso, who made the stay that extra warm personal experience, starting from the first on-line contact. He was attentive and had listed many suggestions of places to eat (some only minutes away), nearby villages and wineries to visit (some just down the road), and recommended beaches (30-40 minutes’ drive). He was readily available on the phone or WhatsApp for advice and help (like make the reservations in that restaurant you really want to try). If you want a Tuscany that is a few steps removed from the hustle-bustle of the vacation season, you can’t go wrong here. But keep it a secret .... ;-)

Tommaso was a wonderful host and easy to communicate with. Met us at check in to help us get settled in. Property is gorgeous. House is charming and fitting for a quiet authentic Tuscan vacation. Fantastic water pressure and hot water. better than our 5 star hotels in Rome and Florence. Our family of 5 felt comfortable and enjoyed the location for day trips to Pisa, Siena, Grosseto town and Porto Ercole.
