Located in a Historic District on the Slope above Downtown San Diego, this highly upgraded 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom home is the guest house to a beautiful, historically designated Queen Ann Victorian building. No expense was spared in the design of this highly upgraded home which accommodates 6 guests. The living area features a high quality leather couch which opens up to a Queen size sofa bed, high ceilings, gorgeous hardwood floors, LED smart TV, dining table and chairs framed by multiple windows. The kitchen is beautifully designed with granite counters, accent cabinet lights, microwave, gas stove, refrigerator and everything you will need to cook complete meals during your stay with us. The bathroom is new has high ceilings and is equipped with plenty of quality plush towels. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and a blow dryer are all provided. Both bedrooms feature Queen beds, mirrored closet wardrobe doors, LED Smart TVs, ceiling fans and air conditioners. All beds including the sofa-bed have memory foam mattresses which are very comfortable. All 3 TV’s have streaming capability and have access to Netflix free of charge. Wifi service is also provided free of charge. Additional items provided to our guests include beach chairs, beach towels, a boogie board, lighted make-up mirror, an iron and ironing board and a high chair for the little ones. A pack and play playpen and umbrella stroller are available upon request. The unit is beautifully decorated with furniture and drapes of modern classic design. The property is located 5 minutes driving distance to the Convention Center, Gas Lamp district, Ball Park, Coronado Island, the Airport, Balboa Park and the Zoo. Freeway access is located around the corner and bus stop transits to and from downtown are located within a block of the property and local beaches are within easy driving distance. Some of Golden Hill’s most popular spots such as the Turf Club, Panchitas Bakery, Krakatoa Coffee Shop, Luigi's Pizza and Golden Hill Park are within walking distance. Additional features in the common areas include a Barbecue Grill, Gazebo with table and chairs and a Fire Pit with wood provided. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee and city views from the patio table and chairs provided on the front porch. Grill your favorite foods on a gourmet barbecue and relax with dinner under a lighted Gazebo. Share the day’s events and memories of your experiences in San Diego with your favorite beverage by the warmth of the fire pit. There is an on-site coin operated laundry so check for the laundry soap, fabric softener and Quarters we provide as our way of saying thank you. Instant Booking - Our Guest House has 2 Bedrooms with Queen Size beds in each room. There is an additional Queen size leather pull-out sofa bed in the living area. All of the beds including the sofa bed have memory foam mattresses and are very comfortable. While it has been designed to accommodate 6 adults, it could be a bit challenging if they are all adults. We want to ensure this arrangement will comfortably accommodate your group.

About John Reardon

I grew up in Northampton Massachusetts, a town with countless beautiful old homes and lots of woods. I spent countless days in my youth building tree forts never knowing that those 2 dynamics would intersect at this point. Upon arriving in San Diego with an interest in building and purchasing real estate, I became immediately interested in the largely neglected Victorian buildings in this area of town. This property became a labor of love for me many years ago and I hope that legacy will be carried forward by my 3 sons. My wife if Japanese, so our family often divides our time between 2 very different worlds, both with much to offer.

Top knotch cottage

Although we've stayed in vacation homes before, this was our first VRBO. I was so impressed to be contacted right away by John, to receive detailed instructions prior to our arrival and then again once we were in San Diego to be sure we were settled in ok. The cottage was so cute. Even though it's only 492 sq.ft. it had such a good layout it felt very spacious. I have not seen such a well equipped rental. We only needed to buy some groceries ( at the nearby Albertsons). We appreciated the outdoor area with BBQ, laundry facilities, comfortable beds and cleanliness of the property. We walked to the Gaslamp Quarter twice and easily drove to Coronado Island, Point Loma, Old Town San Diego and Balboa Park. I would not hesitate to recommend this property.

Beautiful & cozy

My family and I enjoyed our 4 night stay in this beautiful and cozy rental home. It was truly a home away from home with all the accommodations needed at hand. The privacy provided was outstanding despite sharing common ground with other units. The atmosphere was abundantly pleasant which radiated a secured sense of ease. The only thing that I can think of that needs improvement is the wifi provided. It was very slow & close to nonexistent unless you sat outside by the outdoor patio. Had it not been for that I would have given the rental house a 5 star review. All in all our stay there added to our amazing vacation and we definitely recommend it to anyone planning on visiting the beautiful city of San Diego. We definitely look forward to returning on our next visit.

Owner's Response: As with all wifi systems on occasion they need to be reset. Typically the signal in our Guest House is strong and our Guests have no issues whatsoever. We provide a detailed Welcome Letter asking our Guests to notify us if there are any issues of concern including the wifi signal. We received no requests so no effort was made to address the issue in this case.

Perfect!

The home was beautiful! Clean and inviting, having all the necessary amenities. Owner and staff was very friendly. On site laundry was fabulous...one less thing to worry about when going home. Great patio area to enjoy the California sun when you're not out seeing the sights. I love that it had a feeling of seclusion being back off the main road. I also liked the gated yard for the toddlers. I will definitely check availability on this rental the next time I'm in San Diego.

We stayed 3 nights here and the property had everything we could think of needing. It was in perfect proximity to Petco Park and very close to beaches and Balboa Park and Mission Hills area. Great 2 bedroom property with well equipped kitchen and living area. John, the owner, has everything available for you including waters and coffee! Very comfortable beds too. We would rent here again for sure. Best value for the money in San Diego!
