Golden Hill updated home.Great host communication. Secure and safe entry. Very comfortable bed. Full kitchen. Great shower and bath. Relaxing spaces both in and out. Lots of advice provided about local restaurants and things to do. Lots of close by street parking. Close enough to Coronado Island for a conference. Although we did not drink it the host provided a bottle of wine and snacks.The kitchen is well stocked with basic spices and oils and basic pots and pans. Dual drip and pod coffee maker. Fridge and freezer with filtered water and ice maker. Dishwasher. Very clean and warmly welcoming decor.

Beautiful, comfortable, and very neat clean house! Everything was set up very conveniently-kitchen had everything we needed and the bedrooms were comfortable and quiet. We had a small challenge with the door lock one time but the owners immediately answered our call and walked us through the issue which was immediately fixed. Great stay!

Parking wasnt ideal if you werent able to get a spot in front of the house. House was lively tho and the yard wirked great to let my pup out.

This was a beautiful property and we couldn't have been more pleased. We were coming to San Diego for a nearby conference and staying here was SO much better than staying in a cramped hotel room. The work done on the home was so impressive, and every detail was thought of. The communication from the property owner was excellent before, during, and after. We loved it. Highly recommended!

The home was extremely comfortable, clean, conveniently located and stocked with everything we needed to make pur stay fabulous. The host was EXTREMELY responsive and very friendly. Cant say enough nice things about how much we enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend this location!

The host was very responsive. We had an issue arise and he promptly remedied it. The house is charming and welcoming. Comfortable. It had all the amenities we needed. WiFi was great. Location was perfect for all the activities we had planned for our stay in San Diego. The neighborhood was quiet, the people we encountered seemed friendly. We easily could have stayed much longer had the stars aligned for us. The only issue may be parking - no dedicated spots, however we really lucked out and were able to park right in front of the house the day we arrived and the day we departed - which made loading the car a breeze. Other days we were able to still park relatively close to the house with just a short walk. We will definitely remember this as an option for a future stay in San Diego.

Original craftsman detail, great location for week long vacation

We loved this old house with original detail. Great windows and light, peaceful space, quiet and super comfortable sleeping spaces. Worked well for 2 adults and 2 teens. Enjoyed walking through the neighborhood to look at local architecture and stopping at a coffee shop. Great eating and corner stores within blocks. Easy walk to the bus to downtown and trolleys to get to the tourist sites. Easy drive to Balboa Park. Feels like a well loved neighborhood. Owners very responsive and kind.

Family trip

We stayed with our 2 adult kids. The home is suuuuper adorable, so well updated and the size was perfect for the 4 of us. Communication throughout was amazing, though we never felt the need to make contact because the home was so well equipped and met all of our needs. Check-out expectations were also very reasonable compared to other homes we’ve stayed at in the past. Great location. We had a great time .

Cute place close to everything

The place overall was amazing. Updated kitchen and bathroom nice common spaces like living room and dining room. The 2 bedrooms are connected by a jack and Jill bathroom which made it a little challenging with 2 couples but overall very happy with it!

GR8 EXPERIENCE!!!!

Our stay at The Golden Hill Craftsman Bungalow made our 1st visit to San Diego such an AWESOME & incredible experience!!!! The location is PERFECT & accessible to everything & everywhere we wanted to be. The neighborhood is safe, walkable & pleasant & we loved being near the airport, Balboa Park, Coronado & all that San Diego offers. We'd stay again & encourage others to do so too when visiting the area.

Got the peace I hoped for.....

Told Mike he was a gem....and indeed he is. Great communication.I stayed for a week, and I enjoyed the clean craftsman immensely. It is as advertised. The bed was comfortable. Even tho there was not much space, Mike was able to add slim end tables with chargers beside both beds. Very useful! Found my favorite sunny spot in the back. Sun (well warm sun) is why I leave Seattle for San Diego county in the winter time and so was happy to find such a warm spot!!The kitchen is full of all kinds of necesary cooking gadgets. The stove is great and does indeed have a fussy detector if you forget to turn on fan when cooking..... as a review previously mentioned.Better a fussy detector than no working smoke detector, right? Did not have a car but was able to walk (and took transit once) to everywhere I needed to get to without much Ubering!! Restaurants, coffee places, and a grocery store were close. While walking around looking for a book store....I was not aware I had walked long enough to reach South Park where I DID find one called The Book Catapult. A neat book store. It also was surrounded by many restaurants! The check in and out were pretty easy. Conclusion: The Craftsman is a lovely place to stay in.

Great place with good freeway access.

We stayed for a week, enjoyed our stay. Tenant above was a bit noisy and kept taking the best street parking, but wasn’t a big deal. We stayed up late most days. The bottle of wine and snacks were very much appreciated. Would suggest stocking more TP and paper products for longer stays with families. We had to buy our own once we ran out. Area is ok, some homeless close, but that’s everywhere downtown. A bike, beach towels etc would be a nice touch to add. Overall very nice spot, fair price for the area, we enjoyed our stay.

Welcome to the Golden Hill Craftsman! A fabulous remodeled craftsman bungalow that’s character rich & historically relevant, yet tastefully upgraded & updated with all modern amenities. This remarkable residence is in a prime location at the doorstep of all that San Diego has to offer. The Golden Hill Craftsman is equipped with a chefs kitchen, high speed internet, 55’ Flat Screen TV (with internet, Netflix, Apple TV, etc.), Washer & Dryer, fully remodeled bathroom, and tons of original hardwood trim, flooring and architectural character and charm. There is a new HVAC system serving all rooms, and the house is smart home enabled with the door lock, security cameras, amazon Alexa and nest Thermostat.

Your neighborhood:
Name the cuisine and you'd be walking distance or a couple minute Uber/Lyft ride to it. Located in the walkable community of Golden Hill you are just east of Downtown San Diego, <10 minutes from the airport, Balboa Park, Downtown, Coronado and an easy access point to everything that San Diego has to offer, yet walk-able and accessible to all convenience nearby. Golden Hill was one of the first communities developed at the turn of the 20th century and is rich with character and historical charm. Situated in a residential enclave, this is an excellently located base camp for your San Diego stay!
