(Please note we received some feedback that our check in company is charging a huge fee for pet issues, we apologize and are correcting this. Pets of course are allowed on furniture, we have two dogs ourselves and we have rented to guests with pets for years and never once charged anyone a fine)

Cozy cabin in the woods on Bear mountain just 2 blocks to skiing or mountain biking. Walk to the hill and ski down. Also close to hiking trails. Large deck with grill and nice outdoor space. Private location and a large deck. Cabin has beautiful stone fireplace, log beds, Netflix tv and high speed wifi. Sleeps 4 adults and extra young children are ok. Master bedroom has double bed, second bedroom has double bunkbed, sofa bed also available in living room. Bathroom is through the master. Great little cabin for a family trip to Big Bear. Short drive to lake and downtown. Pets are considered upon request. Poor communication Full refund received. Why? Walked in to a cabin looking occupied. Dishes in sink. Windows, cabinets and doors left open. Beds a mess. Blankets tossed. Tv on? So took pics and vacated. Took 4 hours from check in at 3rd party to get communication from anyone. After 62 minutes on customer service lines.. multiple supervisors Finally received full refund. Slept on futon at family’s in town.

I am extremely sorry you had to go through this, as I mentioned in my message and follow up text unfortunately several things went wrong and this is definitely not the norm for us or how we do business. Our housekeeper misread the calendar and didn't realize it needed to be cleaned for that day, then as luck would have it I was over the ocean on an international flight right when everything was going down and my phone blew up as soon as I landed. In addition our check in service was confused about what to do in the situation and did not send a replacement cleaner. A lot of things broke down that night and I very sorry for the poor experience. Everyone is more aware now and I need to do a better job of making sure I have help when I am away from my phone. We make every effort to ensure our guests are happy and if you ever want to try again we will ensure you have a much better experience and will provide a discount.

Darn I am very sorry to hear that, I usually sleep like a log when I am up and I was just there to snowboard recently. I haven't heard from any other renters but I'll take another look and see if the mattress needs replacing. I hope the rest of your stay was better.

This was exactly what I had in mind when thinking about staying in a cozy cabin in the woods! Very nice interior and very welcoming. The host was very responsive and gave greatly detailed instructions for everything. The only reason I won’t give it the fifth star is due to the shower having the water fluctuate a bit too often between cold and hot. Sinks had no issues maintaining hot water. Wonderful stay overall!

Host communication was great and the cabin was very cozy and nice. Only complaint is that the cabin wasn't maintained properly by the cleaners. None of the trash can had garage bags, no paper towel in the holder and just one partially used toilet paper. The back deck was messy and I ended cleaning it up because I didn't want to be blamed.

My wife and our family are Canadians living in San Diego and we bought this little place to have somewhere to go with the family to get away from the city and experience a bit of winter fun like skiing and sledding. We love heading up to Big Bear whenever we have a free weekend, its a great place to visit year round and has a lot of beautiful scenery and things to do.

Why they chose this property

Quiet cozy place up the mountain, great location for a quiet stay in the woods away from it all. Also walkable to Bear Mountain ski resort for skiing/snowboarding or mountain biking. Great place to relax year round.

What makes this property unique

The place is an easy walk to Bear Mountain for anyone wanting to ski, you can go back and forth or go home for lunch and it is convenient with small children. There is also a lot of mountain biking in the area during the summer months. The deck has a great view of the trees and is a relaxing place to kick back and relax.
