Old Island Charm with Stunning Mountain Views, Perched above Our Private Beach

Permit #00PROV099 -The Bayside Cottage is perched above a private beach, offering easy beach access and fantastic water & mountain views. The cottage is traditionally furnished and has hardwood floors, pine ceilings and pine wainscoting, retaining its old-island charm.

The Bayside has a full kitchen and one bedroom with an antique style queen size bed and a full bath. In addition there is a single daybed in the living area that can sleep a child.

The kitchen has all the necessary cooking utensils, dishes, a microwave oven, electric stove, coffee maker and refrigerator. There is a wood stove (as well as electric heat) in the living area as well as a TV, DVD player, and a radio.

Bayside Cottage is perfect for a couple on a romantic getaway or a small family. Maximum occupancy is two adults and one small child.

The cabin was cozy and clean, the bed comfortable and the private beach is amazing. the beautiful views of Mt. Baker were stunning.

Perfect Getaway

This cottage was perfect for our 10-day Orcas Island stay. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable bed. Though the cottage does not have a washer/dryer, Jim and Betsy made their machines readily available to us. You can rent this property with confidence. We look forward to returning next summer.

Perfect Get Away

Charming, cozy with great sunrise views of Mt. Baker across the water. Window seat a great place for relaxing and reading. Easy access to the entire island. Highly recommend kayaking with Shearwater Adventures around Sucia Island and New Leaf Cafe for great food.

My husband and I spent four nights here with our son and his fiance. Very nice small cottage for up to four people (one couple slept in bedroom, one couple on mats in living room). Quiet and comfortable in a lovely wooded setting with view over the water. Owners were very nice and helpful. Owners were very responsive to our inquiries. Cottage is about four miles from Moran State Park, offering beautiful hikes; canoes and kayaks available for rent at the state park (for use on the Park's lakes). My only suggestion to owners is to provide a few more good cooking pots of various sizes.

Jim & Betsy moved to the island in 1975. They designed and built many of the vacation cottages themselves.

We’re lucky to wake up every day in such a beautiful place. It's a joy to see how much our guests love it here, too.

Why they chose this property

Olga is a quiet & peaceful end of the island. Eastsound, the main town, is still easily accessible by car, and we have several excellent seasonal restaurants at this end of Orcas. At the same time, we are tucked away from the hustle & bustle, surrounded by trees and water.

Nowhere else on Orcas Island can you find this direct, ideally framed view of Mount Baker. It's the perfect place to watch the sun rise.

What makes this property unique

We offer several other vacation home rentals just a few minutes walk down the road. This can be convenient for extended family reunions or other larger groups (so long as the quiet hours & no parties rule is respected).
