An Orcas oasis nestled in beautiful Eastsound. John and Katie's place is one of a kind on the Emerald Island. With stunning sunset views overlooking Cresent Beach, this vacation spot is sure to impress. The property is fully equipped from the spacious kitchen to the outdoor fire pit and a hot tub facing the ocean. With an acre of well maintained yard space- it's the perfect area for family games or opt to sit on the covered deck and read a book. Comfortable outdoor couches, propane fire table and an outdoor TV to enjoy sports with friends or movie nights with the kids! Come visit us and see what relaxation is all about!

The property is gorgeous and the house is very comfortable. We enjoyed sunsets over the water and sitting in the hot tub watching deer graze. We appreciated the extra touches like the s'mores fixings. It was a perfect getaway.

The house included absolutely everything you could need, and more. They even left a bottle of wine & fresh flowers. The location was stunning, the property sits on a cliff above the water. Would definitely stay there again!

What an amazing place to stay! We adored being near Moran State Park and were able to take several day hikes with the kids. Close to Eastsound as well so the forgotten item at the grocery store was only a small problem. The backyard/hot tub/back deck situation was truly fantastic. We enjoyed watching deer and hawks and eagles enjoy the property with little care that we were there as well. Truly fantastic and will happily return soon!

The pictures of this place don't do it justice. This is one of the best VRBO I have stayed at thus far. The host have thought of everything to make you feel welcome and at home. This surpassed by expectations. I came back to this island to get back to my childhood roots, to reminisce on old memories and this place made me feel at home...To old memories and new ones. I will be back for sure.

We had an amazing stay at John and Katie’s place! We really appreciated the thoughtful touches like fresh flowers and s’more supplies. Most of our time was spent on the covered back deck with beautiful views of the water where we had fun watching the deer eat apples out of the yard. We also loved giving pets to the two friendly kitties.

This property is absolutely breathtaking! We loved watching the deer nibble on the fallen apples from the apple tree. Watching movies cuddled up outside was so much fun for our family. Inside the house was very clean and had everything we needed and more! The s’mores kit was a special touch. The location was perfect- so peaceful and secluded feeling but also very close to Eastsound. We would definitely love to return!One note- is we didn’t receive the key code until a day into our stay after reaching out for it. Luckily the door was just unlocked when we arrived.

This house knocks it out of the park. Absolutely stunning views, so peaceful, 3 minute drive to East sound. Beds were very comfortable. Hot tub and outside covered patio were amazing. We spent almost to whole time hill me sitting out there or playing whiffle ball on the huge grassy area. The management was very responsive and the house was very clean with sweet gifts and everything you could need. We hope to be back soon! It was perfect.

Eden on East Sound

We just spent a peaceful week at the Ocean View house. The house and grounds were immaculate. We were close to town for restaurants and shopping. It was a perfect jumping-off point for anywhere we cared to go on the island. Deer would drop by daily to forage for fallen fruit from the back yard's apple tree. One young buck wasn't waiting for the apples to fall, and could be seen standing on its hind legs as it nipped at the apples still on the branches.

Amazing getaway

We had an amazing time! This was a perfect vacation spot with the most perfect host with great attention to detail. The host is extremely thoughtful and easy to contact. All you need is your family and some clothes. I can’t wait to go back.

Lovely getaway with friends

The pictures don’t do it justice! The back porch and its views are magical! We saw a constant parade of bald eagles, robins, sparrows, Canadian geese and kingfishers. The grounds are covered in flowers. Beds were comfortable and kitchen has everything you need and more. Really was the perfect place for 2 couple friends to hangout and enjoy Orcas. We had such a great time and I hope we can come back soon!

Thanksgiving getaway

We skipped out on Thanksgiving this year with a getaway to Orcas Island. The Ocean View House on East Sound was a lovely spot - close to town, close to Moran State Park, views of the water, quiet. It offered everything we needed - comfortable and cozy hang/living area, comfortable beds, big kitchen for cooking and the outdoor covered porch with fire table and outdoor TV with views of the water was a total bonus. We loved it! Chelsea was so responsive and easy to communicate with when we had questions. Two things to note for future renters: 1) For those of you who, like me, are sensitive to fragrances and perfumes, they do use scented laundry detergent so the towels and sheets have a strong scent. Consider bringing your own sheets and towels, which I have gotten into the habit of doing. 2) For winter renters, the floor is quite cold and it is a "no shoe" house. Good to bring slippers or cozy socks.

Wonderful place to stay

A super house in a beautiful location. John and Katie have put a lot of effort in over the years to make this place what it is today - fabulous. All the family loved the stay, the garden was glorious to play croquet on with the kids (supplied!) and they loved running about. Hot tub was also a treat after walking and especially at night to watch the stars. We saw deer and eagles in the garden and just sitting out at any time was a real treat. Would we come back?! Absolutely yes we would.
