About the property

5 Bedroom, 5 Bathroom, Sleeps 13

If you're debating between the convenience of staying downtown and the comfort of a spacious historic home? Look no further! This is the historic Pugsley Manor home. It was built nearly a century and a half ago and it still has all of its original charm for you to enjoy. Restored to its original state in the living areas, yet it has very modern touches in all of the right places.

Located in the Downtown Marmalade District - Salt Lake's colorful historic district - this large manor home boasts all of the amenities that you'd expect from a 5-star hotel: high-speed wifi, an attentive staff, and even personal hygiene amenities. You can live like it's your own home by taking advantage of the fully-equipped kitchen and the large formal dining room, while enjoying the fact that each bedroom has its own bathroom. There is a small children's park just a few doors down from the home. The neighborhood is inviting and very quiet; you won't even realize that you're less than a mile from the skyscrapers of downtown.

Pugsley Manor comes fully stocked with all linens & towels, and has all of the little things that you won't need to carry with you: hair dryers, irons, toiletries, etc. We will also provide you with a guide that covers everything about the home, the neighborhood, and our favorite attractions & restaurants in Salt Lake City.

If you're here for the convention center, this home is just 3 and a half blocks away and has a bus route that will take you there also. If you're here to ski, you can enjoy the convenience of a short 33-minute drive to get to the slopes.

READ THIS DISCLAIMER: This is an old house. It is on the historic registry, so there are a lot of things about it that are original and you might not like that. The kitchen is ultra-modern, but otherwise it has that old feeling to it and some people will walk in and instantly thing it's "dirty", even if it's probably the cleanest house they've ever stepped foot in. If you want a new white-washed McMansion with no charm, this is not it. It's old and creaky with original oak floors, ornate windows, papered walls, etc.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this piece of history

  • 5 of 5

We were in town for a convention. We had 11 women staying at the house. We felt like we were in a girls sorority house. We had a blast! One issue came up with a drain, James was right on it and had us taken care of while we were gone. I would definitely stay here again!!

Family reunion

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyed our stay and loved the number of bathrooms; it made for more privacy for those who stayed there. Lots of room for family time. This was family reunion and we really enjoyed it. There were some mechanical issues that were in the process of getting fixed, but they were not detrimental to our overall stay. This is a wonderful old house with a beautiful updated kitchen. The lack of lighting outside the kitchen door entry could be problematic. I know they were trying to find a way to improve that, hopefully it will be repaired soon. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

Unique property updated with an antique feel

  • 5 of 5

The owners were easy to deal with and communicated well. The place was very clean. It is a very old home that was redone so there is not a lot of outlets and the furniture to match the antique feel isn't the most comfortable, but it has charm. It has a lot of bathrooms which is convenient for a large group like we had. There are two suites on the first floor with full baths. The second floor has suites with baths also, one of them does not have a shower head so it is bath only. The neighborhood is a bit older, but conveniently located very close to down town. We simply ubered back and forth from the convention center for about $5 a ride. Uber is very available in the area. The airport is also less than a 10 minute drive which is convenient. The pans were tough to cook on, I would advise bringing a nonstick pan for quick meals. Linens were clean, house was tidy, owners were cool and easy. I recommend the house for proximity to downtown, number of people you can put in the home, and the price was right.

Great Family Time!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great family reunion celebration for my daughters college graduation. The house is big and has everything you need. There are multiple bathrooms and lots of space for conversation and fun. The dining room was big enough for family dinners. Thank you for a great weekend!

Lovely Historic Home. Clean and Comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We were extremely happy with this home. Some of the girls in our group had actually stayed at this home before and they were the ones that recommended that we stay there. I'm glad I took their advice since it was a wonderful home. I'm definitely going to come back next time we have a convention in Salt Lake city. The convention center was just 3 blocks away so we didn't even need the car we rented.

Great Home in Every Way

  • 5 of 5

Very pleased with this home. Super clean. It was perfect for our large family and there were more bedrooms than we originally thought because the upstairs entertainment room has a comfortable queen bed in it. Very close to the middle of downtown. We were able to walk to the convention center and to the Gateway Outdoor Mall. Very friendly management company.
