If you're debating between the convenience of staying downtown and the comfort of a spacious historic home? Look no further! This is the historic Pugsley Manor home. It was built nearly a century and a half ago and it still has all of its original charm for you to enjoy. Restored to its original state in the living areas, yet it has very modern touches in all of the right places.
Located in the Downtown Marmalade District - Salt Lake's colorful historic district - this large manor home boasts all of the amenities that you'd expect from a 5-star hotel: high-speed wifi, an attentive staff, and even personal hygiene amenities. You can live like it's your own home by taking advantage of the fully-equipped kitchen and the large formal dining room, while enjoying the fact that each bedroom has its own bathroom. There is a small children's park just a few doors down from the home. The neighborhood is inviting and very quiet; you won't even realize that you're less than a mile from the skyscrapers of downtown.
Pugsley Manor comes fully stocked with all linens & towels, and has all of the little things that you won't need to carry with you: hair dryers, irons, toiletries, etc. We will also provide you with a guide that covers everything about the home, the neighborhood, and our favorite attractions & restaurants in Salt Lake City. Features free wifi.
If you're here for the convention center, this home is just 3 and a half blocks away and has a bus route that will take you there also. If you're here to ski, you can enjoy the convenience of a short 33-minute drive to get to the slopes.
READ THIS DISCLAIMER: This is an old house. It is on the historic registry, so there are a lot of things about it that are original and you might not like that if you're one of those people that likes boring, sterile hotel rooms with mass-produced $5 paintings on the walls. The kitchen is ultra-modern, but otherwise it has that old feeling to it and some people will walk in and instantly thing it's "dirty", even if it's probably the cleanest house they've ever stepped foot in. If you want a new white-washed McMansion with no charm, this is not it. It's old and creaky with original oak floors, ornate windows, wall-papered walls, antiques, etc.

We are not a huge company that will treat you like a number. We are a small, family-run business and we take pride in our guest's comfort and satisfaction. We will try everything within reason to make our guests feel like they are at home in our vacation rentals. Our listings are up-front and honest, and we have no hidden fees whatsoever (this is rare in our industry). We have an abnormally-high amount of return guests, which is a testament to how well we take care of our homes and our customers. If anything about your stay isn't exactly as you want it, we're available 24 hours a day and we live nearby.

A historic home in Salt Lake City
Our check-in was easy and so was check-out. We attended general conference, a gathering for our church. The home was close enough for walking to the conference center and temple square (about 20 minutes). The home is large with the convenience of bathrooms galore. There was also an additional futon and inflatable air mattress that made all in our group have comfortable sleeping arrangements. We found the neighborhood very quiet. The home is historic so expect the floor creaks and personalities of an old home!
Very quiet cute little house. Very spacious and lots of bathrooms.
Floors are in desperate need of fixing, but overall the house was very nice. Quiet neighborhood, narrow driveway if you have a dually pickup. Lots of towels, linens, plenty of space.
Perfect for our needs
Traveling from ATL, we came to Salt Lake for a wedding. To the norm, the location isn't the most ideal for walking everywhere, but being from Atlanta where we're used to it, it was no problem. The home was quaint and warm. Didn't spend a lot of time at the home, but for social gatherings, the kitchen was perfect. Lots of bathrooms! Everyone was comfortable and the only bummer I can say, is that I forgot to sign the Guest Book :( I guess that means I'll have to return and stay here again. Thank you Cami
The Pugsley House was everything I thought it would be. The five bedrooms were large and adjacent to a bathroom. Three of the bedrooms had private bathrooms. We were hoping that it was closer to the LDS convention center. SLC has bigger blocks than we were use to. I would recommend having a car. It is $25 for a taxi from the airport. Consider to and from for two groups and trips to the convention center and you would easily spend more the the cost of a rental car. Parking near the convention center was not a problem for the conference sessions. We loved imagining who had lived here, what renovations had been done. This home offers a peaceful and charming place to stay.
very pleasant stay
We came to SLC for the fencing summer nationals and stayed in the Pugsley House. It was a nice large house with five private bedrooms and a bathroom for each. large kitchen made cooking a joy. New AC unit upstairs kept it pretty cool as we were there during a heatwave. James, the manager was very helpful and knows a lot about river kayaking and fly fishing!
The House had a lot of personality and we had some great times in it. Great overall stay!
Amazing place to stay for a big group!
Had the time of our lives at this beautiful, big, old big house! Porches, yard, driveway add to the experience. Great kitchen, bedrooms and baths.
Located just 4 and a half blocks from the Salt Palace Convention Center
