Scottsdale Oasis is a 2000+ square foot, separate guest house located in the heart of Scottsdale, Arizona. This house is the one of two houses on the property available for lease. (The owner's occupy the main house.) From the moment you drive into the driveway and see the Jim Sudal welcome sign flanked by native cacti and a stunning rock sculpture, you know you have arrived at a very special place.
The interior is filled with timeless mahogany furniture, custom seating areas and lots of art with an emphasis on the southwest. The oversized master bedroom has a Westin Heavenly Sleep pillow top king-sized mattress with 1600 thread count 100% pure Egyptian cotton linens and a closet big enough to be called its own room. You will enjoy a Bose radio/CD player in this bedroom. The private en suite bathroom is equipped with an oversized shower, double sinks, a make-up vanity and an abundance of storage space. The second bedroom, located on the other side of the house, boasts a Westin Heavenly Sleep queen-sized mattress with the same luxury linens and an exit to the patio where you can enjoy the barbecue, fire pit and view of Camelback Mountain; as well as the 6' onyx and marble fountain that hosts many hummingbirds looking for a shower or a sip of water. A Bose radio/CD also graces this bedroom. Feel like curling up with a book? Do so in one of the two very large Queen Anne chairs in the separate sitting room. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything we could think of. If you can't find what you need, let us know; we will do everything possible to get it to you within a short period of time. If you want to set up your computer or write some postcards, there is a built in desk in the kitchen. A wireless printer is there for your convenience.
This house also has a dedicated parking spot in our covered garage which leads into the backyard and to your home-away-from-home.
When you enter the property from the driveway or garage, you will pass by the main house and turn a corner to find a beautiful oasis in front of you. There are so many interesting sights; objects d'art and many rock features including a petroglyph rock all framed by beautiful landscaping going from desert plants to a lush, tropical feel surrounding the refreshing pool. The shared pool has a large shelf with chairs and an umbrella if you feel like lounging in the water. Just beyond the pool is the small pond with soothing waterfall. There is also a double lounger outside the front door if you want a comfortable place to sip on an iced tea and read a book. You know you are on holiday!
The back of the Scottsdale Oasis boasts a private, custom barbecue built in 2014. It might be difficult to keep your eyes on the grill as you enjoy the majestic beauty of Camelback Mountain right in front of you. Don't miss the fire pit! Nothing beats sitting by the fire pit with a glass of wine on a cool, desert night. This backyard is also home to our own mini desert botanical garden filled with many species of cactus and succulents. Just behind you is the orchard which has over twenty fruit trees from grapefruits (pink & yellow), oranges, tangerines, pomelos, lemons (yellow & pink), limes & pomegranates. In season, you are welcomed to help yourself to as much as you would like. Two bicycles are here for your exclusive use while you are staying in the Guest House. The canal, which is just a couple of minutes ride away, provides endless paths for you to explore our great city and its fine parks and golf courses.
Interested in turtles and tortoises? There are three fenced environments on the property: one with a 150-pound African sulcata tortoise, one with rescued box turtles and the last with rescued desert tortoises (indigenous to Arizona). All three of these environments are located discreetly to the side of the property, or in the front, so if this is not your cup of tea, you will not even know they are here. This house is also home to dogs. If you are not a dog-person, we will keep them out of your way. If you enjoy them, they will offer you a dog-fix while you are away from home! Many hummingbird feeders are placed around the property. Arizona hosts the largest variety of hummmingbirds in the United Sates, so you will have many opportunities to see different varieties and enjoy their antics as they feed, protect their 'personal' feeders and bathe/drink from the fountains.
Our Central Scottsdale location and proximity to the 101 Freeway makes this location unbeatable. No matter why you are here, or what you are doing, you are only an easy walk or drive away.
