About Mary Ann Kaye
Hi! My name is Mary Ann and I'm the property manager for Casas de Guadalupe. My background was based on 20 years' experience in the hotel industry in Albuquerque. My brother in law, Doug and two of his friends purchased these properties, after Doug had lived on site. When I came out to Santa Fe to take a look at these casitas, I fell in love with them. 10 darling vacation rentals, all within the same complex, just off the plaza...what sales person could resist!! Come and experience the friendly people, the fantastic restaurants, museums and shops, and best of all the outdoor activities in and around Santa Fe!
Mary Ann Kaye purchased this House in 2007
Why Mary Ann Kaye chose Downtown
Doug - I actually lived in these casitas in 2005. Having lived in New Mexico for most of my life I found the life style in Santa Fe so different and unique. I fell in love with the city, the area and culture immediately! When I was given the opportunity to purchase these properties I jumped on it!
What makes this House unique
This property is located just off of Guadalupe which is one of the main streets that borders the Plaza. Once you cross Guadalupe, you will see lots of shops, restaurants and museums. Park is a very quiet street just off the beaten path. You can enjoy a day at the plaza, walk back to the casita and enjoy a quiet night on the patio. Or take a little walk to any of the nearby restaurants in the area. If you don’t feel like eating out, there are several grocery stores in the area. The kitchen is fully equipped making it easy to whip up a delicious meal of your very own!

Don’t stay here
I'm so sorry that you were unhappy with our Casita. As a small company, we really work hard to make sure that our guests are comfortable and the casitas are really clean. As you know, I stay in touch with my guests and I am always a phone call away and would have gladly come back to check and clean the bathroom and wipe down the walls. Every now and then we may miss something but we are happy to come back in and make sure you are comfortable with the casita. It's Fall here and the patios had just been cleaned so there was very little debris in the yard. We have a few new bushes that were planted this summer, but not a lot of color this time of the year. Sorry about that. The courtyard is enclosed with a Coyote fence, and unfortunately, if guests leave the gates open or if the wind catches them, the gates do move. Your gate was off about 1/4 of on inch and didn't close properly, but it wasn't broken. We do repair them as they do shake loose every now and then. I'm so sorry it happened to do so during your overnight stay. We have repaired it already! Parking is located directly in front of the casita, so I'm not sure why it was a "Joke". Thank you for taking time to write. We do take all our reviews very seriously and work to improve our services in order to make our guests happy. We do have 12 casitas on site and hope that you would give us another shot and stay again.
Friends Getaway Spot
This little casita is perfectly located and just the right size for our two person getaway among dear friends. We each had our own room and bath, and the living room was comfortable for our long chats in the evening. We didn't cook, but it did seem that all the kitchen stuff was available had we needed it. The location was about a ten minute walk to San Francisco Street and the Plaza where we most often found ourselves. It was cold in the evenings, but watch out for the heat in the bedrooms - it gets very warm in those rooms. We set it at 68, and it felt like 90. Opening a window was easy! Host Mary Ann was very helpful and responsive leading up to our stay, and the instructions were clear as to how to get in. Closing the key back into the box was not easy, however. We almost had to call her. Overall, nice place for the two of us. Thank you Mary Ann.
It was such a pleasure to work with you and I thank you so much for writing in! I'm so glad that you enjoyed the casita and the location to the down town venues. Thanks for letting me know about the heat! We just turned on the heaters a few weeks ago so I adjusted the vents so it shouldn't get too hot in the back bedrooms now! Sorry about the lock box. We try and make it as easy as possible for everyone, but not too easy for strangers to get in. You were a delight to work with and we can't wait to have you stay with us again soon!
Wonderful Casita, Great location!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Casita D. The neighborhood was quiet & the casita was excellent...comfortable, cheerful & airy and the kitchen was well stocked. We usually have opted for a hotel room in the past, but from now on, The Casas de Guadalupe will be our choice!!!
Meredith, thank you so much for your compliment! That is the best thing anyone can say to us that they like staying in our casitas over a hotel! I'm so glad that you enjoyed Casita D and the neighborhood and we can't wait to have you stay with us again soon!
Lovely Casita
Clean and comfortable! Great location easily walkable to everything we wanted to see downtown. Would gladly stay again!
Anna, we would be happy to have you stay with us any time! I'm so glad that you enjoyed the casita as well as the location! It's so nice to be in the downtown area, but just off the beaten path, just a bit! Thanks for taking such good care of our casita! See you soon!

Excellent Service
Mary Ann was a great communicator. Info was timely, helpful, and the check-in/check-out process was very easy. Helpful suggestions for area activities and restaurants were provided. As a host, Mary Ann rates an A+.
The casita (Casita D) was very clean with plenty of essentials (bathroom and kitchen supplies). The location couldn’t have been better for walking to the Plaza, shops and restaurants. The location also provided quick and easy access to the highways to the Opera house and the airport. Four of six rooms (living, kitchen, master bed, master bath) were well- appointed for a comfortable stay. The second bedroom and bathroom could use some de-cluttering and TLC to repair broken furniture, to refresh plaster and grout showing their age, and to provide some space for one’s personal belongings. The only small disappointment was the inability to use the outdoor space and enjoy the fresh air. The condition of the fence around the small patio and the patio’s location (street-facing and adjacent to parking) made it difficult to sit outside and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning with any privacy. That said, the price was right and the casita had historical charm.
Overall, Mary Ann’s hospitality made for a very enjoyable stay in Santa Fe.
Laura was a delight to work with! I'm so glad that you all enjoyed the casita as well as the location to the down town shops, restaurants and museums! And I so appreciate the details in your write up. I'll work on the de-cluttering this week. Casita D is one of our midsize two bedroom, two bath casitas (approx 750 square feet) and there isn't a lot of room for supplies like linens, and blankets. I will go through the casita and try and make more room for our supplies, trying not to take away space from our guests. Unfortunately, the Coyote Fence is the only approved fencing that we are allowed in the district and I'll have our maintenance person make sure there aren't any gaps in the fencing to make sure it's a little more private! Thank you again for staying with us and thanks so much for taking time to write in! Hurry back to see us! Mary Ann
Lovely Stay!
We loved our stay. We wanted a place where we could easily walk to the Plaza and Museums, but also be able to easily travel to the Opera. It was a few minutes walk to Plaza, and a few minutes drive to the Opera. Mary Ann was fantastic with all my questions and concerns over several phone calls. The Casita was immaculate, and complete with many extras. When we arrived there was a lovely thank you note with lots of information and suggestions for things to do in the area.
I look forward to staying here again soon. Thank you Mary Ann for a memorable stay.
I so enjoyed visiting with you and I'm so glad that you enjoyed Santa Fe as well as the casitas! It was a pleasure to work with you as well. We have a terrific location and it sounds like you were able to enjoy the sites! Thanks for taking such good care of the casita. Hurry back to see us!
