1 BR APT in downtown Asheville short walk from brewery, shops and restaurants!

Drover's Way lives in a 100 year old home in downtown Asheville, a stone's throw from High Five Coffee Shop, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Habitat Brewing and Moog Music. You can't beat the location! A few blocks from the heart of the Central Business District, yet offering the convenience of parking in our private lot right behind the house, and easy walking distance to your favorite restaurants and shows.

Next door to Drover's Way is our other vacation rental, the Nest on Broadway (#1092386) so if you have a larger group, you can rent both! The Nest on Broadway is a sunny, studio apartment with full bath similar in size to Drover's.

Amenities include a queen Tempurpedic bed, private bathroom with glass shower, spacious bedroom, 40' smart TV (you can use your Neflix account!), free wireless internet, separate room with den, sofa, dining area and Ikea kitchenette, cable TV and central AC and heat. The den/kitchenette is separated by a door from the bedroom to allow maximum flexibility. The sofa can open up into a bed as well and has a new memory foam mattress. Local artwork (including Lynne's photos) decorate the walls all over the house. Walk in and feel right at home.

Owners Lynne and Steve are available to offer suggestions for your vacation and help arrange goodies for special occasions - just ask! Our nephew Walton is your "boots on the ground" full-time resident downstairs. We are a legally-permitted short-term rental, so you don't have to worry about having your vacation plans disrupted. Lynne Harty is a professional photographer and her husband, Steve Cohen, is a musician and he manages other musicians for a living. They both moved to Asheville for the laid back, small progressive town lifestyle and have loved it from the moment they arrived.

Why Lynne Harty chose Asheville

We love the proximity to downtown Asheville, being within walking distance to everything, while still having the luxury of privacy and a convenient parking space. Having a FREE parking space in downtown Asheville is a big deal! The house is loaded with the character only old houses offer, and renovating it continues to be an act of love and hard work. Drover's Way is 1/2 mile down the hill from our other property, the Asheville Urban Nest. We have been hosting guests there from around the world since 2004 and love helping our guests find all of our favorite places in Asheville. Did we mention our comfie Tempurpedic bed???

Our guests have enjoyed hanging out on our front porch to rest from a day of adventures watching people go by, sometimes seeing the goats that live in the "urban farm" behind the fence across the street.

Many vacation rentals are getting shut down because of recent crack down by city of Asheville. We have a legal permit so you don't have to worry about this if you stay with us.

Staying downtown gives you the best of all worlds - great restaurants, shops, music venues and galleries, while a 30 minute car ride has you on top of a mountain with amazing views!

What makes this apartment unique

Convenience! We love being a few minutes walk to High Five Coffee, Greenlife and Trader Joes, as well as just down the hill from all that central downtown has to offer. Habitat Brewing recently opened a block away too and we offer our guests a free beer on us!

The house has some very cool features - such as the pocket windows in the Drover's Way apartment that sink down into the wall vs. up! We like to sit on our big front porch and people watch as we enjoy our lunch during the week days. Meeting our guests has been fun as well, as we love to play tour guide. Festivals such as the Lexington Arts Festival and Downtown After Five are centered right at the Lexington bridge two blocks away so it couldn't be any more convenient to walk to those and hear live music. See the horse and buggy go past our house just as the pigs and sheep did many years ago when Broadway was called the Drover's Rd.

The Reed Creek Greenway is just around the corner, which is a new bike/walking path between Five Points and UNCA that is a very pleasant way to explore this part of Asheville. We are on the edge of Montford, and old neighborhood full of Victorian architecture, B&B's and several neighborhood restaurants within a 5 minute walk - Chiesa, Nine Mile and Todd's Tasties. Montford is a nice area to explore on food or by bike. The UNCA campus and the Asheville Botanical Gardens are less than a mile away as well. Asheville Yoga Center, a hub of yoga events, is walkable too.

So much fun...we have had three amazing days here - Drover's Way was the perfect place to stay. Our first time in Asheville. Enjoyed downtown - lobster nachos at Limones, Nine Mile, Biltmore - amazing. Wish we had another day. Lynne and Steve, you are delightful.

Super comfy with a perfect location!

The apartment was comfortable, clean, obviously well taken care of. I love the beautiful art on the walls from the owners. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect location, walking distance to everything downtown, to grocery stores, and to coffee! We parked in our designated spot (which was so nice) and never moved our car again! Only took an uber once just because it was so cold. The apartment was easy to access, had everything we needed, and was reasonably priced compared to local hotels and other rentals. We've already recommended to a friend and will definitely be coming back!

Beautiful historic home close to bars and restaurants

Great home. Very nicely remodeled apt but still maintains the historic feel. Very clean and comfortable and owner texted several times to welcome us and make sure we didn't need anything. Only 10-15 min walk to numerous breweries and restaurants. Great coffee place only a few doors down. Only negative was house was on a kind of busy street so more road noise at night than expected but usually died down by bedtime and never kept us awake. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect for our weekend getaway!

Absolutely perfect!!!

The location is awesome, near everything, so we walked everywhere and took UBER home at the end of some nights. Trader Joe's is basically in the backyard, the Rock creek greenway walking trail is across the street, and the first brewery, Habitat, is only a few steps away.

We loved having parking onsite. The room was amazing, so clean, had everything we needed to relax. We stocked the fridge with goodies and were very happy to snack and relax in the room. The bed was comfortable, a TempurPedic, we sooo didn't wanna leave.

I HIGHLY recommend this property to anyone who likes luxury, quiet surroundings, and loves to be able to walk outside and be 3 minutes from all the restaurants, shopping & breweries.

Walk to restaurants, music venues, Civic Center, Diana Wortham, Asheville Art Museum and many shops and restaurants. Popular coffee shop/hang out is a few hundred yards away - Hi Five. If you want to explore the Victorian architecture of Montford, cross the street and take a walk! There is a great new restaurant a few minutes away in Montford - Chiesa, that is a quick walk. Also, the new Reed Creek Greenway starts just past FIve Points Diner, and is a lovely bike ride or walk that takes you along the creek to the Botanical Gardens and UNCA.
