Located in a quiet area of ​​Funchal, at an altitude of about 250 meters, the well of the Well's House is a typical house of Madeira recovered by a known Portuguese architect, where the local tipicism mixes with colonial and modern architecture Where details punctuate the beautiful design. Short-ish stay

Absolutely wonderful, we were so well looked after and had a perfect time staying here. Stunning location, kids loved the pool overlooking Funchal, easy to find and park a rented car etc, great range of amenities nearby as well as being a short drive from many big attractions. Would highly recommend and stay again if possible!

Sao Roque

We very much enjoyed our one week stay at Sao Roque. Sao Roque is north of Funchal but is within the urban area. We hired a car but there is a bus stop almost outside the property also taxis are plentiful and Uber started operating that week (Nov 2019) . The apartment was clean and well equipped with a comfortable bed. Although it is in a built up area the property is very private with a lovely garden including a sun terrace and decking with panoramic views. There is a good restaurant and a local cook your own Barbecue both within 30 yards , much cheaper than Funchal centre. Luis the owner was very helpful but not obtrusive. I would definitely recommend.

Wir haben sehr schöne Tage in der Unterkunft verbracht.Die Lage oberhalb von Funchal ist sehr gut: ruhig und doch Zentrumsnähe (Bushaltestelle ganz in der Nähe). Die Schnellstraße ist ebenfalls schnell zu erreichen.Je besser das Wetter, desto mehr kann man von Dachterrasse, Pool und Liegestühlen profitieren.Die Ausstattung der Wohnung hat uns gut gereicht. Es handelt sich um eine Mezzanine-Wohnung, das Bett ist auf der Empore und nicht in einem separaten Raum.Die Gastgeber sind sehr hilfsbereit.

Vermieter sehr freundlich, aber nicht aufdringlich. Süße Wohnung, ausreichend Platz, gute Matratze, Frühstück auf dem Dach wunderbar. Nur Nachts stören manchmal die oft bellenden Hunde. Aber insgesamt sehr schön.

Agradável estada em São Roque

O local que nos hospedamos é bastante agradável. Tranquilo e bem localizado para explorar a ilha. Local limpo e com boa estrutura. À comunicação com o Luis foi muito fácil e eficaz. A vista da área da piscina é realmente fantástica, infelizmente pensávamos que teríamos esta vista do local que alugamos, inclusive com uma varanda. Este ponto poderia ficar um pouco mais claro na descrição. De resto foi tudo muito bom.

Superbe logement mais un louable les semaines de la festa saint roque

Le logement est superbe mais malheureusement nous sommes tombés sur les semaines de la festa saint roque la semaine avant et après le 15 août. Nous avons eu droit à 10 jours de concert à moins de 100 m de la maison tous les soirs jusqu’à 1h du matin . Nous sommes malheureusement rentrés fatigué au bout de 15 jours de vacances. Dommage que nous n’avions pas été averti avant ce logement n’est pas louable pendant cette période sauf pour de grands fêtard En dehors de cette période la maison est très belle,le propriétaire accueillant. Elle est bien située pour visiter madère. Dommage mais non avons quand même passé un bon séjour sur l’île et découvrir tous les soirs l’esprit de fête de ses habitants

Séjour en famille à Madeire

Très jolie maison, très bien située juste un peu en hauteur par rapport à Funchal, facilement accessible aussi en bus ou en taxi. Vue fantastique et les enfants ont adoré la piscine. Seul bémol: notre bungalow était un peu juste pour une famille de 4 personnes (d autres sont disponibles cependant). Merci à Luis pour son accueil. A ne pas manquer à côté de la petite église à 100m une jolie place avec café et vue panoramique, ainsi que les deux restaurants.

Nous avons passé un super séjour chez Luiz qui a été aux petits soins avec nous. Appartement très agréable avec beaucoup de cachet et d'histoire. Nous avons pu profiter de la belle piscine avec une superbe vue sur Funchal et l'océan. Merci Luiz; on reviendra sûrement!

Maison typique, belle vue et pratique

Excellent accueil de Luiz (qui parle très bien français, c'est un plus pour les touristes francophones). Excellents conseils de sa part. Maison typique de Madère : jolie architecture, peu de terrain disponible, belles vues sur la mer et le versant urbanisé. Maison parfaite pour deux, avec de beaux objets à l'intérieur. Quelques équipements pourraient être modernisés, mais rien d'important. Nous n'avons pas profité de la piscine, la météo de février étant un peu fraîche, mais nous avons passé un peu de temps sur la terrasse supérieure, où le calme est reposant. La maison est idéalement située : au calme dans un "vrai" quartier où les gens habitent, à côté de commerces et d'un bon restaurant, à moins de 10 minutes du centre de Funchal, et avec la possibilité de prendre rapidement les routes rapides ou touristiques sans passer par le centre-ville. En conclusion, un excellent séjour !

New Year break in Sao Roque

Had a fantastic 4 night break here for New Year’s Eve, staying at this property made the fireworks display even more amazing as the view from the pool terrace / garden was simply magnificent! Both Luis and Isabel made us both feel very welcome and at home we will definitely return to stay again hopefully next time for longer break / holiday. It was very nice treat for us as it was first time we have been overseas for new year celebrations and Funchal is the place to be for that without a doubt we counted 13 cruise ships in the harbour area also to witness the amazing fireworks display. The property is real Madeira character, beautiful, peaceful and very comfortable. Good location as out of Funchal so wonderful to experience life in a Madeiran village , bus into town are very reliable and only 10 minutes to get down the quaint windy roads into Funchal and the taxi back was always very reasonably priced we felt (less than 10 euros) loved our stay and cannot wait to return and special obrigado to Luis and Isabelle for the bottle of Champagne and Cake to bring in the New Year celebrations very thoughtful and amazing hosts, many thanks Dave & Jane
