We were looking for a quiet relaxing location to spend a week in the Florida sun. The house is a perfect location from Tampa airport (15 min) and other central Florida locations. The river setting is perfect for relaxing. We especially loved watching the dolphins & maniitee's that swam right near the dock. The house is very clean & comfortable. The owner Lauren was very responsive & accomodating. We would recommend this rental to all.
Really cute and comfortable
Was a little concerned when we entered because the home appears to be sinking. Lauren reassured us that it has been inspected and reinforced. The home is really cute and well stocked. It is in a convenient location and as quite relaxing to just hang out on the deck and watch the city. The river is busy during the day which was great to sit and drink coffee and people watch. Lauren was great. The a/c stopped working when we were there and she had it fixed right away.
great location, amenities to be upgraded
Hesitating between 3 or 4 stars:
Nice spot on the river.
+ Location: near downtown and Seminole Heights
View of the city at night amazing
Birds and fish to watch during the day
Relaxing summer house
- amenities :
Mattress way too soft and sofabed not "very comfortable" for others to sleep on. shaky dining set to be replaced.
cookingware in need of some attention.
A little gem on the river
Our visit to the boat house was totally relaxing and so beautiful. I loved sitting on the deck watching the wildlife and boaters pass by. There is an amazing view of the Tampa skyline that is really lovely at night. I could go there again and again!
Cool little spot
The boathouse was a fun quiet spot on the river. Walked to Ricks one day which is a great place to hang out and drink. Overall a good experience
Amazing - relaxing and comfy, can't beat being surrounded by the beautiful river!!
We loved the Boat House and hope to return in the future! It's definitely rustic, but super comfy - the bed was dreamy! We expected it to be a little cool / drafty inside, but it was perfect! We loved feeding the wild birds who would flock to us while sitting on the dock - very entertaining! The Pirate shuttle was great (get the 2 day pass for an extra $5), we loved Rick's, got ice at the little fish shack, all walking distance. Our favorite restaurant was Ulele - one shuttle stop across the river from Rick's - tough to get in, but we did fine 2 nts in a row to sit at the bar as walk in's, great bartender (Dennis), and the house salad & meatloaf rocked! We enjoyed one of our days visiting Clearwater Beach, just about 40 mins and a beautiful drive! The sand is so white and clean, looked like snow, felt like silk! Enjoyed lunch at Palm Pavillion, across from Frenchy's Rockaway, which was closed for renovations. We also visited the Aquarium - saw Winter and the critters from Dolphin Tale - it's different from the Sea World scene since it's more of a marine hospital than an attraction, but they do a nice job.
The foundation / flooring is unique in the Boat House - if you have balance issues, be aware... not a deal breaker, we got used to it pretty fast. Adds to the ambience :) As others stated, the neighborhood is a little dicey getting in to, but the property is gated and we felt totally secure, no issues at all during our 4 nt stay. Definitely a keeper!!
Glad you enjoyed your time Laree, hope to have you again soon!
