About Tracie Romel

I live and work as a Realtor in Corpus Christi Texas, my brother Jerriel lives and works in Philadelphia since 2010. We both have had the opportunity to travel extensively but both agree that there's no place we would rather be!

Tracie Romel purchased this studio in 2014

Why Tracie Romel chose Gulf Coast

Corpus Christi has been mine and my brother's home every since we were kids. As children our fondest memories were of our fishing trips to Padre Island and playing on the beach. We decided to purchase this little Island get away so that when Jerriel and his wife come down to visit they will be able to defrost and relax in the sun.

What makes this studio unique

Weather you are planning a romantic get away or a fishing trip with your buds you will enjoy the great location and the relaxing atmosphere.

Cozy and Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

This place is just right for unwinding. It's adorable, cozy, and comfortable and just the right proximity to the beach. Lots of personal touches make this place feel like home away from home, just without the stress. Loved the pier at the end of the property.

Not what we expected

  • 2 of 5

Although the interior of the property was cute, clean and comfortable, the exterior and location left much to be desired. Compared with the surrounding area, this location was extremely run-down and in much need of TLC. We were a bit shocked and uncertain as we pulled into the parking lot, as the buildings all around Sandollar I are well-kept and lovely. The pool is approximately the size of what you would put in your backyard, with very limited seating available. Other guests were sitting by the pool (so no chairs available when we arrived), and it was like being at an intimate pool party where you don't know anyone. Very awkward. The gate to the dock was locked with a 'Private Property Do Not Enter' sign, so there was no walking or fishing from the dock. The back patio of the unit is a tight area staring at a large wooden privacy fence, so not super pleasant to sit out there and relax, either. The walls of the property are thin, as well, resulting in being woken several times by voices, doors slamming, a tv left on, etc.... The distance to the beach was further than anticipated, making it impossible to walk down while carrying all the necessities of a day on the beach. Luckily, there is a parking lot close by with public access, so it wasn't too inconvenient to load up the car and drive down. I must add that the owner was very pleasant and responded quickly to any questions we had. We had very high hopes for our special weekend, but unfortunately, were quite disappointed.

Owner's Response: I am really very disappointed to read this negative review, it is my first :' ( This is not a new property, the condo community was built in 1985 and it is exactly 1/4 of a mile to the beach. Our maintenance man keeps the property and pool areas neat and clean at all times. It is true that is is nestled in between much newer, MUCH more expensive properties, I think we are VERY fortunate to have such an affordable property in such a GREAT location! It is a good idea to take the car on down to the beach, it's no fun to lug all of your goodies that you'd like to take with you, even a single block in the hot sun seems like a long haul. There are two beach chairs stored in the closet that my guests are more than welcomed to take to either the beach or the pool. The gate to the fishing pier has a childproof lock on the top and the private property sign is to discourage folks who are not guests at the residence. It is a small condominium community as there are only a total of 18 units and like most condominiums they are connected and occasionally a loud noise can be heard. Best regards, Tracie Romel

Close to the beach and super comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great long weekend stay at Tracie's condo! The space was clean, well lit, did not seem small at all and the kitchen had everything we needed. It was my birthday weekend and Tracie left us some nice treats to help celebrate which was super sweet and thoughtful. When it was time for fun in the sun, it was a quick bike ride to the public beach. We loved being here and wished we could've stayed longer. If you're here on the weekend or a light sleeper, I recommend bringing a set of ear plugs. Thanks for having us. We had a great time and would love to come back!

Very clean and cozy. Enjoyed fishing off the little pier.

Great little getaway ... The bright decorations were pleasant during a rather rainy weekend. The only issue we had was the bed was a little soft for our taste.

Love the little condo in North Padre, love beachy feel and short distance to the beach and atmosphere! Can't wait to come back again and would recommend mikel's may bar and restaurant.

Looking for adventure or relaxation there are so many things to do and see. Easily walk to the beach for some sun tanning, shell collecting or bird watching. You can fish from the pier at Balli Park, or from the Packary Channel. Bring your jet ski and park it along the dock, take a swim in the condominium pool. On the beach you can rent a bike, kayak, surf board, or jet ski. There is kite surfing, sail surfing, and horseback riding. Take a drive to Port Aransas for some serious game fishing. The newest Schlitterbahn Water Park is only minutes away, it's all here!
