We offer a spectacular, solar powered, 'Eco-friendly', 1st floor Seaside Suite surrounded by exotic tropical beauty directly overlooking the Caribbean Sea and the largest Barrier Reef in the Western Hemisphere. This is a true "home," not a hotel complex. Enjoy an authentic vacation home while living like a local. We are one of the original homes located at the south point. Enjoy the clear-blue Caribbean Sea right from the house and the near-by docks.

This gated and fenced in property is located on the island's only scenic, seaside jungle road far enough away from the airstrip yet close enough to the village shopping, grocery stores & restaurants for all your needs. The location is unique and extremely exotic set in the splendor of nature. It is far enough away from the lively village for plenty of peace and quiet throughout the days and nights.

LOCALLY GUIDED TOURS BY SEA OR SHORE...

Enjoy everything Belize has to offer right from the Seaside Suite. All your adventures to the mainland are just a short water taxi ride away. Or, choose from our many locally guided tours that will also bring you to the mainland to explore by Sea or Shore. They are absolutely fantastic and will pick you up by boat and drop you off at any of the near-by docks for your convenience. Live like a local and enjoy everything Caye Caulker has to offer. The Seaside Suite offers all the adventures that you could ever want. It is ideal for those seeking a complete Belizean experience with all of your options available for adventure, exploration and relaxation alike, all from the convenience of your own tropical island home away from home.

Located at the South Point of Caye Caulker and away from it all, this property offers a peaceful tropical island getaway. The seaside path to Casita Bella Vida is very scenic and fun for bikes, golf cart rentals and golf cart taxi rides. The Suite is approx. 1 mile to the Village. Golf-cart taxis will pick you up and return you back home if you prefer to be driven. Or, you can rent a golf cart if you'd like. Two (2) bikes are included with your stay and are available on the property for you to enjoy.

Our property manager will arrange for a golf cart taxi ($fee not included) to meet you and transport you to the house where they will greet you and check you in.

About James

We are a happily married couple enjoying our 50's.

We love to travel, and enjoy many sports from the snowy mountains to the sandy seashores.

James purchased this apartment in 2013

Why James chose Belize

It has always been a dream for my wife and I to own a home in the Caribbean. We were fortunate enough to have our dream come true. With such a truly beautiful home we felt it would be nice to make it available and share it with others.

What makes this apartment unique

It is a truly peaceful and quiet location with the most scenic road leading up to the Seaside suite. We are away from the busy Village yet close enough for all your entertainment, shopping and restaurant needs.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We enjoyed our stay here at the Seaside Suite and on Caye Caulker. Had a fantastic snorkeling experience with Richard's Adventures - highly recommend him - a super fun & knowledgeable guy with a real reverence for the reef. We also loved biking into the Village from the Suite and taking advantage of the kayak & SUP's.

Thanks again James & Rainy!

Quiet, secluded, but HOT!

  • 3 of 5

We were picked up by a golf cart and taken to the house on the south end of the island. The road to get there had the WORST STENCH and we panicked wondering how we could stay for a week with that smell. (Brown water and garbage everywhere in the mangroves) Luckily once we got to the house the smell wasn't there...except in the bathroom. The house is fenced in which was really nice. The pics are deceiving on here bcz we got the bottom room in the house when the pics show the top view of the house which is gorgeous and spacious, wat nicer than the bottom (we peaked in the windows as no one was staying there and wished we cld have gotten that space instead). Overall it was nice but there is no A/C and it was so hot and humid in May when we went. We were constantly dripping with sweat! Bed was ok. The bathroom smelled really bad. There was a cockroach running around. It was a comfortable place to stay..the bikes arent in the greatest shape and one of the seats was broken and the other got a flat tire. The views from the top deck are amazing and we really appreciated the seclusion and quiet. We spent most days riding to the north side and cruising through town. Snorkeling off the pier at the house we couldnt see much as the water wasnt clear and I got a nasty rash after swimming there for about 10mins. We did some fly fishing and caught 1 barracuda in 7 days fishing off the pier. Much better fishing up by the split. If you are looking for a simple no frills place, this is it! Its cozy and you can cook food in the little kitchen, lay in the hammocks, and make friends with the iguanas and crabs :)

Owner's Response: Caye Caulker, Belize is an island in the Caribbean Sea off the coast of Central America. It has a sub-tropical climate (HOT) with varying Eco-systems. We apologize that our guest noticed an unpleasant odor caused by the sea-grass that washes up to the shore from time to time. The island has regular clean-ups to dispose of it as well as the plastics that wash into the Mangroves from the Sea. We are glad that we do not have any at our "comfortable and cozy" house and that they did not experience any there. We sincerely apologize that this guest did not book the suite that she desired. VRBO listing: 474819 (The Upper Suite). Her reservation request was for VRBO listing: 644954 (The Lower Suite). We are so glad that she was still able to enjoy the top decks and appreciated the "amazing" views, seclusion and the peace & quiet of our private fenced-in property. We have four (4) bikes on the property and always have a spare one for any maintenance issues that may occur. We've placed new air fresheners in the bathroom and replaced the insect traps. The island has two (2) excellent pharmacists and doctors available for any medical matters. We always recommend guided snorkeling tours to the Barrier Reef for the ultimate undersea adventures. Our dock is an excellent swimming spot with a sandy bottom. We are sorry it may have been windy when this guest was there and that the sand may have been stirred-up. Many of our expert angler friends are always more than happy to offer our guests fly fishing tips, as the South point is their favorite fishing spot on the island. We strive for 5 star reviews from all of our guests and to achieve this, we (our house manager & us) are always ready to accommodate any of our guests needs during their stay. We respect social media, but respond much better in the moment and in person when there is an opportunity for us to make our guests stay more enjoyable. We do our best to promote responsible, sustainable tourism at all times.

We totally enjoyed our time, bring wonderfully hostessed in a most beautiful place. The quiet guest rooms are 1 1/2 miles from town, made easily accessible with bicycles. Only the tropical breezes in the palms and the sound of the waves and a multitude ofstars at night.

Perfect place to enjoy the sound of the waves and get away from it all! Unbelizeable!

  • 5 of 5

February 2017

The Seaside Caribbean Suite is the perfect place to enjoy the sounds of the waves and the peacefulness of getting away from it all..

The Suite was clean and had absolutely everything we needed for the three weeks we were there. The shower was hot (just need get used to how the on demand hot water works). Note that they are solar powered so be mindful to use the power only when needed. No air conditioner but there was a large floor fan which worked very well. The ocean breeze helps to makes the nights comfy. Also be mindful of the water. They collect the rain water and have a well, but water is limited. Use water wisely. Bottled water is supplied for drinking. James was very quick to bring us anything we needed or was quick to respond to a text. They also supplied a local phone which was very useful..

Rainy and James were the most wonderful, gracious hosts. From arranging a golf to meet us at the Water taxi, to all sorts of helpful information about the island, places to eat and things to see, they were awesome. The two bikes available to us were well used. We rode to town at least once a day which was about a 20 minute ride. They also supplied one of their extra bikes for our daughter when she came to visit, which was greatly appreciated. Their dock wasn't built yet so their great neighbors Don and Cindy were gracious enough to let us use theirs for swimming off of or just enjoy the beautiful view on the deck chairs.

The bugs were an issue, my husband got eaten up pretty good but they never bothered me. It was difficult to sit in our outdoor sitting area without getting bitten. Remember your bug spray along with your sunscreen.

We did three excursions with two different companies. They were all fabulous. The island is full of so many amazing places to eat and hear live music but most of all the people are friendly and helpful.

If you are looking for an amazing quiet place to stay this is the place for you. 20 minute bike ride to town where you can dine on some amazing food and hear some fabulous live music then back home for a quiet nights rest.

In our books this is a 10 out of 10 accommodation.

Thank you Rainy and James for making our first Belize holiday UnBelizable..

Love Terry and Linda

Seaside Caribbean Suite

  • 4 of 5

James the owner of the property met us when we came last Tuesday where we spent a week. Very accommodating. There are golf carts that are used for Taxi's as the only transportation is either by golf cart, walking which we did frequently or by bicycle. It is about a two mile walk into Cae Caulker. You really need to bring bug spray as there are many gnats. The only thing I was a little disappointed with and I mentioned it to James was the shower was cold. He did say there is a a very short time for the water to get warm. I asked him to check into this and he said he would. We had a lot of fun, either taking the water taxi to Belize City where we went to their zoo which is great. My husband went zip lining in the rain forest and the Myan Ruins. Had a very good guide Tom thru Tsumani taking us there. We also to the water taxi to San Pedro having a lunch there and looking around. For fun we had a beach massage. There are also beach massages in Cae Caulker and thoroughly enjoyed the tent massage from the ladies. Peter is one of the taxi drivers and is very good at picking you up.

Fun time.

Owner's Response: We are so glad that our guest enjoyed their stay! We provide a bug-free indoor environment with special screens for our guests. We also provide bug repellent for the outdoors to be used at dusk, when the bugs can be bothersome in Belize. And yes, thank you, it is a very beautiful place to stay.

Peaceful, Quiet, and Beautiful piece of Paradise

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful place of tranquility and beauty to get away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, exceeding our expectations. The ambiance is a lovely feel at home feeling, tucked away place, away from it all, with nature all around. We swam off the dock, rode their bikes available, watched the local fisherman, and the sunset there. Amazing views of the whole Island could be seen on the roof top deck. Not to mention the bird watching. We saw the Roseate Spoonbills in the area there. "Iggy", the local iguana, that likes to hang out, was very entertaining as he liked to eat bananas. Many times it was like having the place to ourselves. The hosts James and Rainy and new manager Julie, were super nice folks. They went out of their way to be sure we were comfortable, had everything we needed, and very resourceful of where to go, and places to see. Accommodations were more than adequate. Living off the grid, and being Eco friendly was admirable. We took a snorkeling and sailing tour to the reef with Ragamuffin ( One of their suggestions) which was a wonderful experience. Night life on Friday nights at the Sports Bar was a great evening of fun with live entertainment. The drummer, none other than Rainy, was awesome in the band. She rocks!

We would consider this place as one of our bucket list destinations. We are so glad we found the Seaside Caribbean Suite, and definitely plan to return in the future. Being retired snowbirds on the mainland in Corozal, Belize, this was a mini vacation from where we live. This was our first visit to Caye Caulker as a destination place to see. We felt very fortunate to have found such a place that was our type of style to be. This place is not meant for party animals, but if you're into peace, tranquility and nature, a mile or so from the town, this is where to go.

Thank you James and Rainy for a most memorable time.

Gary and Evelyn
