Very nice, quiet, comfortable!

  • 4 of 5

We had a very good time at this cabin... comfortable beds, quiet surroundings , and very attentive owner. The kitchen and front porch could have been a bit cleaner. The AC stopped working one night. , but owner called AC company and they came right away. Close to everything. I would stay again at this cabin.

Beautiful views, but cabin needs updating and cleaning

  • 3 of 5

Cabin has phenomenal views and is secluded enough. But, it needs some updating and heavy, heavy cleaning. Cobwebs everywhere. And, anytime we wiped a surface, we wiped more dirt than what we had spilled. Whole cabin also smells of moth balls. Cabin also feels very dark.

Kitchen is stocked with everything needed. We were able to cook Thanksgiving dinner with everything found in kitchen.

Owner is very good at communicating! Cabin has plenty to keep kids entertained, movies, updated TV, cable, reliable Wifi, etc. Pool table was fun. Beds a little creaky, but comfy.

Great price, great communication, but needs updating and cleaning

was relaxing

  • 3 of 5

If you like seclusion this is the place to go! Was nice and quiet, but could have used a better cleaning. Lot of cobb webs we cleaned up and the musty smell down stairs wasn't to desirable. Property could have been kept up a little better. And the pool was a bit farther from cabin than I was led to believe. House was roomy enough for the 8 of us though. The owner did respond in a quick manner when I contacted her. The exciting part we did see a few Bear up there, was kinda cool and they didn't bother us any they went back in the woods

Current Condition of this property

  • 2 of 5

The following information was provided to the owner upon check-out. Unfortunately, the owner did not respond to our suggestions or feedback.

Suggestions:

1. A binder with cabin information--for example, check-out time, expectations when leaving the cabin (bring all towels down to washer, ensure all trash is removed, lights outs, etc.), local places to visit, trail info., that there is a phone in the cabin and it may ring (several telemarketers called), etc.

2. A couple beach towels for the hot tub.

Feedback regarding the cabin:

1. Overall cleanliness of the cabin. For example, the bathtub upstairs had not been cleaned at all, so we could not use it. The upstairs bedspread has a huge stain right on top of the bedspread. The appliances in the kitchen were dirty. There were still dishes left in the dishwasher and the dishwasher does not work properly.

2. There is no blind on the main bathroom window. Someone hung a towel up to cover the window.

3. The grill was so dirty we had to go buy one so we could grill. We left that there for your future guests.

4. The carpet was very dirty and stained. It had not been vacuumed or cleaned.

5. Cobwebs all over the inside of the cabin.

6. We arrived on a Monday and was not able to take any trash out of the cabin until the night before we checked out of the cabin. The previous guests had completely filled the trash bins. The owner responded within an hour that someone would be by to pick up the trash on Wed., but they did not come till 9pm on Thurs.

7. The owner was very responsive until we checked-out and then no response.

8. There is no blind on the big window in the basement and no lightbulb for the back porch.

9. I would not recommend this property to my friends. The location is great, but there are plenty of clean/well maintained cabins in the area for the same/similar price.

Fabulous stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin over the past weekend. It had everything we needed for a fun, yet relaxing weekend. We even had a visited for supper...mr. bear. He was non-aggressive and remained calm while we stood about 2 feet from him. We were more than extactic to meet him. We enjoyed the hot tub and pool table all weekend, along with hiking. I recommend bringing your own food as the restaurants are extremely expensive as well as the grocery. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend. We will definitely be back soon!

Great Cabin!!

  • 5 of 5

We had 4 adults and 5 children aged 5 and under in the cabin. They loved being up in the mountains with a cabin tucked in the trees. Everything was clean and stocked well. The kids had a great time with the air hockey table. The Smokies are beautiful and make a great vacation spot. Our only concern with the cabin was the railing on the stairs inside...we had to watch our 18 month as her entire body fit through the rails. There are two bedrooms downstairs, one on the main floor and one upstairs. When viewing the pictures on-line we were unaware of the full layout. With the small kids we made it work, but the cabin might be a better layout for families with older children. However, we would recommend this cabin and fully enjoyed our stay! It's seclusion is a huge plus as well!! Our kids kept looking for the bear to come visit but we never saw him!! Maybe next time...
