Piran is one of the most photogenic cities in the Mediterranean with its unsurpassed charm. Enter the picturesque Piran, get to know its rich history and culture, and listen to the stories of our people. In Piran, you will feel as though you have stepped right into a picture postcard. You will be charmed by the narrow streets within the old town wall. In the main square, you will be greeted by the statue of the most famous man in Piran, the well-known Giuseppe Tartini, composer and virtuoso violinist who was born in a house just steps from the square. On the pier, you can catch sight of fisherman unravelling a fishing net. A market woman from Piran will have just delivered vegetables, fresh from her garden, to the market. Locals sitting by the sea, chatting and listening to sounds of the sea, greet you with a nod.
The proximity to the sea and the rich history, which is mirrored in the architecture, draw magical scenes. Having coffee, lunch or dinner surrounded by sounds of the sea will ensure pleasant memories for a long time to come.
Apartment house Kristina has 4 apartments, it is only 200 meters from the nearest beach and only 200 meters from Tartini Square. It is close to food and fish market, supermarket, bakeries, restaurants,... Everything is close, only a few steps away! Apartment Kristina is on the 1st floor.
There are plenty of nice points for swimming at Piran, just look for them at the beginning of Piran; at the Piran Hotel for the young; the wild beach below the cathedral of St. George for nudes, etc.
Fruit market becomes alive in the morning. But if you want really fresh Slovene fish, just go to the shore and ask fishers if they have any fish for sale. There are 9 churches at Piran. During some periods there were more than 20 churches there. The number is surprising for such a small place. We really recommend sightseeing of church St. George as it has been restored for a long time. And the view from this spot is gorgeous! Indulge yourself in a wonderful walk from Piran to Portorož (4 km one way) – the most popular walk on slovenian coast! Or shorter 1,5 km (one way) and great walk to Fiesa --- we would recommend you to swim there if walking is not a problem for you.
And on gloomy days we recommend going shopping or exploring Slovenian Istria by bycicle. There are a few spots where you can rent a bike. Parenzana is regulated cycling path, which leads along the trail of former railway from Trieste to Poreč. You just need to follow the blue sign D8 with bicycle drawing. If you want to plan a bicycle trip just google "parenzana D8" and you will have maps immediately. For those, who wants to ride it as an sports challenge, feel some vibe of istrian villages and see some natural and cultural sights at the same time this is really perfect preposition for (also) active cycling (or running) holidays. Traveling by this path is unique experience. About the shopping: there are a few good shopping centers in Koper. If you are not satisfied with our offer we recommend you jumping across the border: Trieste. Frequent bus line from Piran to Trieste.
PARKING IN PIRAN --- everlasting 'issue'. In Piran there are only about 10 private parkings, all others have to park in garage Fornace or Arze. We'll give you all needed infos.
Whole sleeping and living areas in Piran are quiet - no cars in Piran, no noisy bars next to our Apartment House Kristina. When you come to Piran, you can park your car about 200 m away from the apartment, you carry all the bags to the apartment, repark your car to the parking garage and then go to the apartment by free bus and by feet. The access is not easy only to our apartment house, but to ALL properties and for ALL people; also residents don't like this, but ... it is not difficult to accept something you can't change, right? :-)
