Captain's Quarters has king size comfy bed with its own private bathroom. There is a small refrigerator,microwave and a Kuerig coffee machine with a variety of free coffees , waters and snacks as well as all necessary utensils including wine glasses etc. Also, all linens, including sheets,pillows and towels are furnished. Callender House is a quiet peaceful place to rest after enjoying all the wonderful activities Newport has to offer!

Captain's Quarters is one of our suites at Callender House. Check in is at 4 pm and check out is 11 am. We are located in the center of historic Newport , a short walk to downtown, a two minute walk to the historic Broadway ( where the locals hang out) , the Newport Harbor( take a sailboat or motor boat excursion) , restaurants (including the White Horse Tavern,one of the oldest operating taverns in the U.S.) as well as trolleys to the mansions , the Tennis Hall of Fame , the Folk and Jazz Festivals .

It is a private suite with its own private bathroom. Free WIFI. For larger parties, check with owners for availability our other suites.

Callender House is Colonial house circa 1870. A guest pass will be provided for parking on quiet street. However, off street parking may be available.

Great location within walking distance of most Newport attractions.

The accomodation was exactly as described. Really appreciated the comfortable King size bed and nicely appointed and provisioned bathroom. The window air conditoner worked fine though somewhat loud and the parking space off the street was appreciated. Our only negative was the tightness of the space in the bedroom which became more of an issue the longer we stayed. Would have given this 4.5 stars if possible.

Owner's Response: Thank you for staying with us . From the start of your stay , we provide off street parking which is at a premium in Newport. To make sure our guests have a comfortable stay in our Captain's Quarters ( circa 1870), we have provided a super comfy king size bed with high quality linens with a beautiful modern bathroom with fluffy towels. Since the room accommodates 2, comfortable chairs ensure seating. Our Captain's Quarters boasts a Keurig coffee machine with everything to have an enjoyable cup of coffee or tea to watch morning news on the flat screen tv. Juice , water and snacks are provided as well. Wine glasses and opener welcome wine lovers. The mini fridge as well as the microwave provide an extra convenience . The pictures in our listing show that we have placed the comfort of our guests as a high priority. To provide ample storage for 2 guests , Captain's has a closet , 2 large shelves in the tv cabinet , small chest of drawers and area under the vanity table in the bathroom . To maintain a comfortable temperature , there is a window AC which we keep immaculately clean and makes the typical sound of this type of AC. When questioning the size of the room , the many pictures show the room as it is - not a huge room and not a tiny room but a room with every effort made to make a comfortable stay for our guests . Amazing!

My girlfriend and I stayed here from July 1st to July 3rd. We had originally booked the Captain’s Quarters but upon our arrival we were upgraded to the Seaside Retreat. We were thoroughly impressed! Very clean, nicely decorated, secure lock combination, good internet connection and there were snacks as well as beverages available. The location is absolutely ideal as it is walking distance to the main city attractions on Broadway St and Thames St. Another positive aspect about this place is the available parking in the back. We had the chance to briefly meet James who gave us some helpful suggestions for the weekend.

I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Newport and will definitely be staying here again when we visit next summer!

great location, good price, and incredible bed.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights while attending a wedding. Callender house is a convenient location, with very nice, clean accommodations. Private coffee maker, snacks, water and juice was all we needed. This is not a BnB but it was a very nice place. We didn't see much of the owners as they were away for the weekend, but they made sure we were all set prior to departing. Would definitely stay here again

Clean, modern and relaxing!

Had a great experience here. It felt right at home and was very close to lots of things to do. Plenty of parking opportunities as well as easy access in and out of the building. Lots of restaurants a couple blocks down and Thames only a couple minute walk away. Will definitely be back!
